We have been coming to New Orleans for 17 years twice a year just to eat good food but had never tried Dooky Chase but wanted to so we went this trip and waited about 45 minutes before we got a table. They had a lunch buffet which both I and my wife ordered. The food was terrible. The fried catfish had blood in it, the butterbeans were mashed to go over rice, fried chicken dry, and the squash was still raw but was supposed to be streamed. We were terribly disappointed. We learned that the owner had died in June so I just figured she was buried with her recipes and no one there knows how to cook.
