   We came here to dine and celebrate a birthday and I indicated that on the Open Table app while booking our reservation. Don’s is usually our local favorite restaurant for service and food taste. Apparently the hostess missed this celebration indicated on the app or miss communicated the birthday celebration with our server since it was not acknowledged during our dining experience. We heard a team of servers coming out and singing Happy Birthday thinking it was for us, but disappointed when they stopped at a table near us.

   Overall it was a good lunch experience. Our server was on top of his game with the taking and delivery of our orders. The restaurant was good on timing of the food coming to the table. However even though everything was delicious as usual, the seafood gumbo was served lukewarm. It was not at the temperature it should have been. This was a late lunch reservation for 1:30 PM and was served around 2 PM. I will try another late lunch reservation and order the seafood gumbo to see if it comes at a normal hot temperature. Look for my next review.

   We had a great date night. Our food took a little longer than expected but the complementary hush puppies helped keep us from from getting to hungry while we waited. Once our food arrived, it was hot and delicious! Thank you for a job well done.

    Despite being super busy for half off oysters, the service was still quick. Food was fresh and hot, drinks were string per usual. Definitely a good time when going to Dons.
