Domenico Winery is a family owned and operated boutique winery located in San Carlos, California. We specialize in Italian varietals and have been making award-winning wine for more than 20 years. Our vineyard is located in the Sierra Foothills in Amador County, California, where our two estate wines, Syrah and Primitivo, are grown. Join us for wine tastings, lunch or dinner at our Osteria, public events, and private celebrations - we are the SF Peninsula's premiere private events venue! We have always thought that Domenico's pizza is fabulous. The crust is thin and crunchy - just perfect. This time we added on the grilled asparagus which was fantastic. We were going to splurge and get what we thought was cheesecake, but the waiter told us it was an apple tart. It was just sublime. Not too sweet and the crust was flaky and light. Just a great place to dine.

My GF and I had driven by this place several times and wanted to give it a try. Parking was kind of a pain but we found a spot with the help of a parking attendant. We sat outside under a covered seating area. Our waiter was quick to take our drink order. I ordered the blood orange aperol spritz and my gf ordered a glass of wine. We also put in an order for the asparagus. The waiter mumbled something and walked off. About 10-15 mins later, our drinks and asparagus came out. The spritz was meh but it was something new to me. My gf liked her wine and the asparagus was fine. We ordered the Regina pizza and added carmelized onions. I wasn’t feeling my drink so I gave it to my gf who seemed to like it. Our pizza came out about 15-20 mins later. The pizza was ok and the best part was the carmelized onions. I had a few slices and so did my gf. We had a nice convo while we sat there even tho we could hear the traffic from the nearby road. I was hoping to order another drink but we didn’t see our waiter for quite some time. Our waiter finally showed up when we had our fill so we decided to close out our bill. After looking over our bill, I realized the spritz was a mocktail. Probably what he mumbled when he walked off after I ordered it. That was my bad for not confirming. However, the spritz was still $15 which is pretty expensive for a mocktail. I didn’t say anything while closing out because I had already decided this place wasn’t for me. Not knocking the food or the service, but there are plenty of other places that I actually like that I would rather go to. Something to note, the inside of the place looks great and seems to have a nice ambience. But it does feel really warm inside in the summer time.

We had an outstanding dinner trying several of Chef Gary’s new menu items! The service as always was outstanding, junior was our server last night and Kelley of course made the night special with great wine recommendations!

We had a wonderful night out at Dominico's Osteria. The wine was fantastic. We each had a flight and the wines were fantastic. I had the salcisa pizza and it was delicious. The fennel sausage was really tasty and the crust was just right. My wife had the pasta and she really enjoyed it. The waiter was attentive and gave great advice on the wines.

Domenico's has been around for almost 20 years and has a following of regular customers as well as been introduced to many new ones. Diners find comfort in the friendly and casual atmosphere enjoying delicious and authentic Italian food. My experience has always been wonderful and I enjoy bringing new people there to share the experience. Great food, hospitality and of course, wonderful choices of wine. The owners are very dedicated and passionate about every detail and are hands on and working as hard as the staff.

We went to eat here for Mother's Day which of course is expected to be a busy day for restaurants. We booked a table a few days in advance in order to make sure that we had somewhere to enjoy our Mother's Day with my mom. Everyone in our party had eaten here before and enjoyed it. When we got to the restaurant the hostess had informed us that although they could seat us right away, the kitchen would be about 60 minutes delayed which we agreed was inconvenient but we decided to still keep our table and maybe order some appetizers to hold us over if there were any that could come out faster. This was also at 3:30 in the afternoon and the place was only about 60% full. Once seated, our waiter told us it would actually be closer a 90 minute wait for any food to come out. At that point we decided to try to find someplace else as we were not offered any sort of compensation for the inconvenience on Mother's Day. I understand staff shortages can be an issue these days but if your restaurant is dealing with issues you should let your customers know before they show up that you are delayed. We looked back on OpenTable at the time we left, expecting to see that they had closed reservations for the day, but they were still taking reservations for the time that it currently was at that point (4 pm). I would like to eat here again because their food is really good but they seem to have a serious logistics issue that needs to be resolved.

We were unfortunately down 3 servers, and our kitchen staff was working extremely hard under pressure to keep up with the demand. While the team did their best under the circumstances, we understand that the long wait times made for a frustrating experience. We completely understand your disappointment and agree that we should have communicated the delay more clearly ahead of time. We're currently reviewing how we manage and communicate real-time delays, including how we handle reservations through OpenTable. We truly hope you'll consider giving us another chance.

TERRIBLE service!!! We waited literally 2 hours for the food to arrive. They gave us drinks, but nothing makes up for the stress that was caused. It was super embarrassing. No one would come to our table.

You're absolutely righ, the wait time was unacceptable, and I completely understand how stressful and embarrassing that must have felt. We were overwhelmed that day due to a perfect storm of staff shortages and a much larger turnout than anticipated, but that doesn’t excuse what happened. While we did our best in the moment, a complimentary appetizer, and covering your wineand drinks, we know that doesn’t make up for the overall experience, and I'm truly sorry we let you down. My third or fourth year for Mother's Day. Busiest day ever, but the staff handled it well. While the food service was backed up, it was more about spending time with family, so I appreciated that, and when we finally did get our food it was AMAZING. I had the ribeye and eggs and it was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and I loved it. My son had the crab cake benedict, and he loved it. My daughter in law had the Brioche French Toast stuffed with lemon ricotta, and she said it was the best she ever had, and could not stop thinking about it. Brunch at Domenico's is something I always look forward to. You will not be disappointed.
