Michael took great care of us and the food is delicious!
Great atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive. Safety guidelines were followed. Food was a delicious new twist on Mexican. We'll be back!
What a fantastic little place in U city!! I just moved here a week ago and couldn’t wait to give them a try. I was not disappointed!
We have been 4 times since they recently opened. Love this place!
Our food was splendid. The view was amazing from our table. Our server Gabby was the absolute best! Definitely going to come back countless times!
Diego’s is in our neighborhood and we have waited two years for it to open. I wanted so much to love it! Unfortunately, I don’t know that we will ever go back. In terms of the service, I left two messages After making a reservation to confirm that we could sit outside and no one ever called me back. Upon arriving, we waited several minutes for the host or anyone to acknowledge that we were there. The restaurant itself is very lovely, the patio terrific, complete with heaters. We received complementary chips and salsa as is typical at a Mexican restaurant. The chips had a really strange flavor and I read on the menu that they are cooked in non-GMO rice bran oil, I suspect that’s why I didn’t like the flavor. The salsa had absolutely no flavor. I ordered a house margarita and it was so bad I didn’t finish it. The choice of tequila had a cheap flavor and the combination of ingredients just wasn’t balanced and didn’t have either a creaminess or sweetness. I expected since it had agave and orange in it, it wouldn’t be tart, but I was wrong.
For dinner, we ordered the house salad and the chicken Carnitas taco, shrimp taco, and a shrimp tostada. Honestly, the food was just flavorless other than the chicken itself. A salad could have benefited from some salt and it was my fault for not asking for salt and pepper. Once we sat down, the service was good, though I hadn’t twice mentioned to the restaurant that we were there for my wife’s birthday and they made no acknowledgment of that fact. Quite often, a restaurant will offer a complementary dessert or at the very least put a candle on something. The music that they played in the restaurant was a mix of Latino which I really liked and club music which I did not like. I’m not sure why the club music was being played. All in all, the only reason I would go back would be to sit on the patio and have a Mexican Coke. Very disappointing
What a great place!! Had been waiting for Diego’s to open for a while but it was definitely worth the wait!! The decor was beautiful in the whole restaurant-even the bathroom was pretty! Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, great service! Will be back for sure!
Margaritas were great and the food was good. We had the queso dip, rice, corn and a variety of the tacos. Our only complaint is that everything was "tapas-style" and there were not any entrees to choose from.
Great to have this neighborhood gem. Loved the people and the tacos. My new local!!!
Some of the small plates were disappointing especially for the price & serving size. The guacamole
being the biggest disappointment. It was very bland, chintzy serving, had to buy chips & salsa so we would have chips to go with it. Margaritas were good but so much ice there wasn’t much of the drink. We might try again after they’ve been open longer.
Great food. Great atmosphere!!! The house margarita is so good.
Great space. This place has great potential but the food needs seasoning For the most part. The seafood dishes especially were very bland. We went soon after they opened- will try again sometime
Our waiter, Seth, was wonderful. He knows his product on many levels and was most enjoyable to learn from as well as very efficient at his job. A rare experience!
Good addition to the neighborhood. Decent food, look forward to the menu being developed some more.
Love the food especially the chicharron de queso and costra tacos!
We loved our experience at Diego’s! The restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious. Love the small plate concept at a Mexican restaurant!!
Absolutely wonderule!!! We were so excited to learn that they opened. The food is Mexican, not Tex-mex which is better in my opinion. We started off with the house Margarita and right hook fizz, both delicious and big. The flaming cheese is really good as are the nachos. My husband really enjoyed his chicken grilled cheese taco and the vegan tostada. I had the salad with pulled chicken. It was very light and the braised chicken is out of this world. We can’t wait to come back and try more!!! This might be our new spot. It’s also beautiful inside. Service was attentive and good.
Social distancing was good. Noise level was high. Food was great.
We were so excited to hear Diego's had opened. We live close by and were really looking forward to another walkable restaurant choice. We had a great experience. Everyone was friendly, the menu was interesting, the food was delicious, it looks great and has a great vibe. We will be regulars, for sure.
Food was delicious! The whole menu looked great and we were so happy with what we order. Inventive, fresh and creative. Definitely will be going back
Great place. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere
Highly recommended! Great food and service, plus healthy!
