I love the views...windows and ambience, kind of sophisticated. It's also a place for CMU students to receive experience. Food was fresh and had some interesting offerings.
Allowed us to make reservation for 8:45, once we promptly at 8:30 arrive and got seated it was 8:57 and the waitress informed us that the kitchen closes at 9:00. Three minutes to make a decision. Felt rushed and ended up leaving. 😔
WOW!!! We so enjoyed our dinner. We will be back to try a different entree.
I wish I’d known we could only be served from the happy hour menu. Was looking forward to having options

Hotel Maverick's Devil's Kitchen was a great dining experience. I look forward to trying it during the spring and summer when we can take advantage of the great views.
Dinner with our boys
First time visiting and it was really good. The waiter was awesome, food was really good (vegetables a little undercooked but the steak was fantastic). Desserts were AMAZING! We had the banana/caramel dessert and the maple bacon blueberry donut bites. Dipping the donuts into the caramel and ice cream is ridiculously good 🤣
Seated in a timely manner
Incredible culinary art and dishes!
Everyone loved their meal!
Cocktails high class!
Burger was very good. The gnocchi dish was strange in that the gnocchi was fried instead of boiled. It also needed a garlic cream sauce and spinach. Replace fried gnocchi with boiled ones and add garlic sauce, spinach, and more basil.
We took our daughter there for her sweet 16 birthday and were not disappointed -- everything was great, and having the full moon rise up from the Grand Mesa was a real treat through that amazing wall of windows! Thank you --
Really nice dinner at the Devils Kitchen in Hotel Maverick. Good Gluten Free options.
I visit this restaurant every couple months usually to celebrate some things special. My intentionally requested a standard table, yet I was put right up with the bar. It was obnoxious listening to people who were drunk while I was trying to have a nice dinner. This was really disappointing. I don't understand why you would put me at the bar when I made clear I did not want that. You should not let this app allow people to specify tables if you do not honor it.
Different menu - food was great and waitress was very accommodating
We reserved a table. The hostess was helpful asking us a preference for a table. I ordered the Ginger and Beer Chicken, it was halfway burned and quite salty. The chicken meat was passable. My husband ordered the Bison Tamale Stack which he enjoyed. We ordered the duck for appetizer and it was also salty. We ordered the chocolate brownie which resembles a pizooke with chocolate ice cream and it was rich and creamy. The food was average, but the ambiance was definitely amazing. We got to sit outside and watched the sunset go down. Shout out to our server, Dakota who was very accommodating, helpful and made sure we had what we needed.
Very good. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service...but, a bit overpriced...
Steak was overcooked. If you are charging a premium price, you need to serve a premium steak.
Devil's Kitchen is one of the best places to eat in the valley now and the location is the best, especially if you are sitting outside. Wines are a good value and the menu is unique. The Bison tamale stack is great.
I have never been disappointed in an experience or meal at Devils Kitchen.
We just love Devil's Kitchen. Great food, awesome views, excellent service.
Our food and server were wonderful. However the experience started out very uncomfortable. We had late lunch reservations ( 1:30) and there was one table of guests in the main area and one group outside on the deck. Since it was one of the last nice days of the year we asked to sit outside on the deck. We also asked if we could sit at at table with an umbrella Well the manager came out and made a big scene telling us and showing us how much we inconvenienced her having to move an umbrella over to our table. Since there was only one other party on deck we simply suggest we move to a table that already had an umbrella and we had no problem picking up our place settings ourselves and we didn't want to bother only enjoy the experience. There were 3 of us we all ordered our drinks immediately and our food at same time as now we felt uncomfortable. We apologized to the server for the issue and she was so kind and told us that we were not a bother. The dark haired manager on the other hand.....made it clear she wasn't happy to accommodate us. At one point I almost told her simply say no instead of berating us . When we offered to move our place settings ourselves ....she actually said "if you will stop interrupting me I'll explain why I don't want to put the umbrella up. " She said if the wind starts we can't use the umbrella. We didn't say a thing because she was obviously aggitated but there was no wind ...zero . It was absolutely still . We order our drinks and food all at the same time, tipped our server generously and left . We all agreed that we probably won't go there again.
A friend & I enjoyed a relaxed breakfast at the Devil's Kitchen. We took our time with our meal & caught up with each other's lives. Everything was lovely, except we had to order 3 cups of coffee, the cups were so small!! I would suggest a table size carafe.
We loved everything about our dinner. Food was delicious, views were spectacular, drinks were tasty, service was good. We tried to come back the next day for afternoon cocktails, but the restaurant was closed (website hours were a little confusing). We loved the entire experience and will definitely be back when we are in town next. Fried deviled eggs were to die for! Keep up the good work!
Views are amazing from this hotel restaurant. The staff was accommodating when I requested to NOT be sat at a dark corner table in a room filled with great windows for the view. I always wonder why when I have a reservation well in advance of the date one isn’t given a good table, but this has happened more than once when I book thru Open Table.
Is it preferable to book directly with the restaurant?
PatG, Thank you for taking the time to give a good review. I am sorry to hear we did not make sure your were happy with your seating. I will be working with our team to make sure we do our best to accomadate each and everyone of our guest in the future. I hope you will be back to see again. Pick chicken over shrimp on your salad. Drinks costly but yummy.
Food was incredible! Great view of the mesa as the sun was setting. Our server was the best!
We had great service. It was a busy night so the food was slow to come out but otherwise everything was great. I had salmon and my husband had steak and we were happy with the quality!
I really wanted to like this restaurant. My wife had been before at lunchtime with a friend and found it to be good. So I booked it for a Sunday brunch for my wife's birthday. I don't know if it is Covid or new manager or no manager or new chef or what.... but it was so bad as to be almost comical. We had an 11:30 reservation. We arrive and there are only 2 other diners there. It still took them 4 or 5 minutes to seat us. The waiter was very pleasant though. My wife ordered a mimosa and I had a decaf. The mimosa was undrinkable (we both tasted it). We did not know champagne could be so bad. My decaf was good; he said it came from "downstairs". No spoon accompanied the coffee; I stirred the coffee with my fork. The little basket of sweeteners they brought had several opened and discarded wrappers in it.
My wife ordered the french toast. It was very tiny and basically cold from the cream cheese frosting they put on it. She told the waiter but he said that was just how it was. I had the elk biscuit and gravy; it was warm, not hot. The elk meat was very dry (I know elk is a very lean meat), I had also ordered a side of scrambled eggs which they totally forgot about. When reminded, they quickly produced them and they were Hot!! I had a second cup of coffee but they forgot I was having decaf and I got regular. The little salt and pepper shakers were plugged; nothing came out.
Because of the birthday, they did bring a dessert which was a chocolate lava cup. It was lukewarm and the chocolate center was still hard and not melted.
When we left, no one said "thanks for coming" or in any way acknowledge us.
In summary, the views are great and the waiter was friendly. Everything else was pretty much laughable! I realize this is a training program for the students but it screams out for some management. They charge premium prices but the experience is not on par. Sadly, I would not recommend Devil's Kitchen.
Great dinner as always! Love the jambalaya!
Lovely cosmopolitan atmosphere and views. The food had a good presentation. Service was great.
Fun new experience; gorgeous decor; fantastic rooftop view of the valley good food; great service.
Steak was very tuff
Brushal sprot needed ends removed and better flavor
Busion meal was mushy
Drinks were good
Devil eggs just ok
Very noisy place and it wasn't even full
Price was some what high for the food we got and to not have duck available was very disappointing
Thanks for asking
Chian, our waitress, was so sweet and attentive…in fact, all the staff were fantastic! The food was also delicious…we tried several things and all of it was so tasty!! And the view is breathtaking!
Awesome idea with the college campus and it was great food and ambiance
Excellent food and service. Ate on the patio with beautiful views. Sandwiches were very creative - and scrumptious.
We sat outside for drinks around a fire pit. They let us stay for our reservation outside which was lovely! Wonderful views and great service.
The staff was great very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and loved the option to dine at the fireplace on the patio. Highly recommended to try this place. Just set your reservation in advance as much as possible or you may not get a table it’s very popular.
This was such a fun place for a date night. Sit outside on the patio!
Eclecticism menu. Great quality and value. Outstanding young staff. Wonderful cocktail options.
Great menu and drinks. Great view of the mountains when sitting inside.
