   The tap room at the Deviant and Dandy brewery is such a great hidden gem that I kind of want to keep it to myself! Found it as lockdown was being relaxed - and it’s such a treat - I will always head here when I’m this side of town. Hidden away at the far end of the drag of arches past the food stalls, it’s an absolute winner. They make excellent beers - such a range. Not all to my taste to be fair but with such a variety, the awesome bar staff will guide you to something that you’re familiar with and help you take a punt on something new. The pub grub was by way of Del74 (the best Mexican joint in Dalston btw) so they must have a partnership thing going on. SO TASTY. The kind of quesadillas you fantasise about. I’ve had three great nights there now and each time I have been so impressed by the vibe. GREAT music - every time. Some playlist guru clearly. There even was a DJ one night! To be out, tipsy with mates, drinking great beer and seeing everyone having a laugh and dancing outside was such a buzz. A real release from the intensity of the last 18months. Deviant and Dandy. Hackney Arches. Don’t tell anyone!

   Food, service and drinks were great. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and our group had a great time at the venue. Highly recommended!

   We booked in advance for 4 people. On arrival we were told we would have the table for two hours. An hour into our evening the same lady told us we had 15 mins to hurry up and leave. We felt very unwelcome, the place seems lovely at first but the ground is filled with chalk pebbles and chalk residue will mess up your shoes or anything that you decide to place on the floor which is very annoying. There are no outdoor heaters whatsoever. The food menu is limited and overpriced, the drinks were okay but again; very overpriced for what it was. The app (where you can order) is misleading and prompts you to select 1/2 a pint for the same price as a full one which was very annoying and disappointing. When we raised this issue with a staff member he was very standoffish and told us it’s not his problem he only deals with food. Would never come again or recommend this place to anyone. Such a shame as we were looking forward to it and the ‘DJ’ that was advertised on a Saturday.

   Spent a sunny Saturday afternoon here in April 2021 ... staff were friendly and efficient and beer and food (Mexican / tacos provided by local independent restaurant) was very good. Minor issue where they offered us a choice of tables and then tried to move us 90 minutes later but we stood our ground ... then we were told we had to leave when the Open Table booking had no end time ... luckily we were due to leave at a set time and they worked around it ... all in all on a sunny day this was a nice place to meet friends so thoroughly recommend
