This place has horrible food. Any place in New Orleans is better. Do not eat here.
Fabulous food and great service! Unusually quiet due to current COVID situation.
Wonderful coolinary meal and value
Good food priced a little high but the staff was great
During the current virus situation my wife and I are trying to support local restaurants. We have never tried Desire Oyster before last Saturday and will not be returning. This is strictly a tourist trap located in the French Quarter. The food was simply terrible.
Drinks, appetizers, and desserts were great. Entrees not so much.
The food was delicious, and even during COVID, the service was exceptional and I can’t wait to go back!
Love the food and customer service! Acacia was fantastic best server that I have every experience. I travel around the country dining out and she was just so attentive and friendly.
Happy hour is confusing, but the server was patient in explaining what we needed. A special, specific happy hour menu would help. However, this being said, the food was magnificent! The service was fantastic, friendly, and present. The atmosphere is true New Orleans French Quarter! Our second time visiting, and our expectations were exceeded.
Poor slow service. Food took long and was somewhat cold...at the very least lukewarm.
The ambiance is really CHEAP looking! Needs an update to light fixtures and seating
Perfect window spot for lunch to watch Mardi Gras Krewe de Cork parade. We enjoyed a fine meal of tastey beans & rice, and a seafood pasta (not a lot of seafood). Would have stayed longer to drink except server rushed things along.
Classic New Orleans Oyster bar.
We had a reservation here for 10 people, confirmed. They were not ready for us nor was there a table ready. We had to wait 15 min with no waiting place, crunched in a small edge of the bar. Food took an extraordinary time to arrive after ordered. Yes, we were 10 people but there was another group there that large, as well. Our one waitress, Tricia, did a good job.
This place is awesome. The oysters are spectacular!
Casual, fun, and not pretentious. Just tasty! The grilled oysters were great.
Place was very busy (night before college football championship) and noisy (which I'm sure my group contributed to); veggies were cold, my fish had an odd taste but I didn't mention it because it took several bites for me to decide if it was me or the fish (still not sure) and the server recommended it so I also felt bad about mentioning it (yes, I know that's on the passive side of P-A). The roasted potatoes were amazingly creamy. Everyone else in our group of 10 raved about their food. The staff and kitchen did a great job accommodating a large group on a busy night.
Ate lunch two days in a row- in the city for LSU football championship. Food and service was great both days. Kiki was super as well as today’s person- forgot to get her name. Bloody Mary, chargrilled oysters, oyster and shrimp poboys- yum!!!
Desire has always been one of my favorite places to dine when I’m in New Orleans. This time we had a reservation for six and were escorted right to our table whenever arrived. I still love the atmosphere here and the service was great. The grilled oysters were awesome. I will say that my favorite dish, BBQ Shrimp, was not as good as I remember it. It seemed to be drowning in tobasco. I had much better BBQ Shrimp at another restaurant the next night. However, I still enjoy Desire and will return next time I’m in the area.
Made reservations for 6 included 4 big guys. Upon arrival acted like we were a surprise and tried to cram us on a 4 too which we refused. So of course, we no longer deserved a good service level. Char- grilled oysters are really good. Everything else was just so-so. It’s on Bourbon street so I guess they don’t really have to be good.
The restaurant was nice. The staff and ambiance were great as well. It seems to be a popular place, many patrons were waiting. I highly recommend making reservations ahead so you don’t get caught as a next available table kinda guest.
Food was decent and was able to get a reservation. Service was bad- waitress brought out two incorrect dishes. Restaurant was definitely the cleanest or nicest. Prices probably comparable to all other places in the area.
Run down, dirty restaurant.
Michael was terrific! Mr Ferlita
Food wasn't that great. Raw Oysters were not cold. Cheese grits were good. Crab cakes were soggy. I have been there twice before and food was good. This time I was really unimpressed and disappointed.
