PLANCHA Dining is available for Dinner Monday through Sunday and Saturday & Sunday Brunch.

Descanso is a modern taqueria in that we celebrate authentic Mexican flavors executed on a traditional plancha grill and prepared in front of you at your table.

Dining Types:

PLANCHA
Make a reservation at a Plancha Table for an intimate experience with a Planchero Chef. This is a multi-course meal option where each item is cooked in front of you at a communal table.

PLANCHA PRIVADA
A Plancha dining experience set in a private room with an elevated menu and includes a welcome reception. Call us directly to reserve this room.

STANDARD DINING
Make a reservation for our Standard dining room or patio on the 'Descanso - Los Angeles' Open Table Page.

    A special dining experience. Tasty Mexican food presented in a very unique way. There are a variety of options on the menu for all and the service staff was very friendly and welcoming. The chef exhibited her skills in preparing a delicious dish for me and my guest. Definitely a place to visit when visiting Los Angeles.

    Amazing experience. The food was so tender and delicious and the amount of food was great too we even had left overs. The chef could have been more engaging but the food made it all worth it

    Don't get the queso Frita add on. Rip off. La plancha took 1 hr 43 minutes of our 2 hr limit just to get food. Drinks are light on liquor

    Beautiful restaurant. Service and food were good. I did the the Pancha dinning for my daughters birthday on 3/17/25 which was a nice and different experience. Definitely would try again.

    Had an incredible dining experience at Descanso Mexican on Wilshire! We opted for the Plancha Experience, where the chef cooks right at your table, and it did not disappoint. I had the carne asada, and it was absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and tender. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the drinks were just as impressive. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re looking for great food, great drinks, and a fun, interactive dining experience!

    I had high expectations for this place. The food was just not good, way overpriced for the quality. Ordered the ribeye and chiles rellenos and guacamole which was probably the only good thing.

    Thoroughly enjoyed the Plancha experience for brunch, which was enhanced by the friendly chef Lucci (sp?). Everything the chef prepared was made with love and it tasted like it. The mocktails and cocktails were masterfully crafted. Looking forward to returning for dinner.

    We came for our friends bday. We were excited to have plancha dining. Unfortunately the entertainment factor was low with no flare. The margaritas, rice and dessert were delicious, but our steaks lacked flavor and spice. Presentation of the food was beautiful, but don’t love when you have to pay for chips and salsa separately. Not sure if we’d come back for the value
