Welcome home! Deryne is in essence a local member’s club with a large bar, working fire place, 100 year old palm-house lounge, comfort food and daily menus - welcoming locals, travellers and professionals with an open, cosmopolitan mind. If you are one of them, you will instantly feel at home.

Chic, sexy, cosmopolitan, yet unmistakably local - Déryné opened on a street market, far away from the tourist crowds on the summer of 1914. It has been the café to hang out and the spot to be seen for the past 100 years. Artists, authors, movie stars, designers, balerinas, the rich and famous shared the space with local crowds over coffee, drinks, comfort food and the decadent magic lingering around its walls ever since.

We serve hearty brunches and decadent dinners with weekly changing menus and an emphasis on seafood. We believe in comfort food that warms the heart and brings back great memories. We welcome walk ins but advise to make reservations for special occasions.

Loved it. Great ambience, staff very welcoming, fun atmosphere. Food excellent aa mix of sophistication and home cooking at the same time . Unusual and creative items . Loved the Dessert lemon lollipops ! Our server Peter was fantastic . Welcoming , loved his job and you could see how he enjoyed explaining the menus and asked us questions . Very interactive . A Must restaurant if in Budapest . Thanks you for making our last night so memorable !

We visited for my wife's birthday and both the service and the food was absolutely top-notch and I can only recommend Déryné to anyone. The service I think the best I've encountered at Budapest - literally a whole new level.

This place is just awesome, the atmosphere, the ambience is amazing, it’s like timetravelling but in a good way, the service is excellent, the food is delicious, they even take care of guests with food intolerance - you literally don’t want to leave your table

I asked for a non aged beef and the waitress send me a aged wagyu beef. Abusing my trust in not knowing proper the language. I pay 91 euros for a bad cooked steak. Not nice. Bad experience.

We were recommended this place by other friends! The ambiance is superb. The good was excellent and the selection of wines was plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed every course. Would highly recommend when you tire of goulash & paprikas come here!

Overall it was a nice experience. My friend came to Budapest for one night and I wanted to show her more about Budapest and I think that Deryne exactly what we needed. We had shrimps, octopus salad and ratatouille - all was good.

We got a suggestion from a friend about this place. I’m so happy we went there! Wow, it was like bring in the 50’s, great waiter, good food and wine. A ” must go” when in Budapest. Thou a little pricy.

Déryné surpassed our expectations. It had a beautiful and lively interior with kind waiters who were very attentive and helpful. My partner and I were very happy with the food leaving our tastebuds tantalised. The cocktails fulfilled our quench for delightful flavours, especially their house special. And lastly the live music made it all that much more sadder that we were leaving.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this classy restaurant which was recommended by our Airbnb host. Our server was fantastic and provided impeccable service throughout our visit. My husband loved his NY striploin while I enjoyed the Branzino fish, squash dish, heirloom tomato appetizer and Creme Brule.

We had a very pleasant evening at the bistro, the food was excellent and the service was freindly and courteous. The prices are somewhat elevated but the quality of the dishes and the ambience makes it worth the value. We cannot understand any of the negative comments and really recommend the bistro for a nice evening.

Used to be a Restaurant and has become a luxury Snack-Bar. Small food portions, some served in a paper bag like the Calamari rings. Quality of cooking is not what you expect for the price. Deryne is saved by its ambiance, live music, exquisite décoration and attentional service. As a longtime client my disappointment should be taken into consideration. I still think that the management could reverse the current problems
