   Interesting dinner. First, the inside bar (which I believe may be the sports bar) was not pleasant. Teenaged kids in bathing suits bellying up to the bar to get drinks, etc was unacceptable in terms of noise and ambiance. The quiet in the dining room was great as was the very nice service. But, the place needs updating to match the beautiful grounds. It is decidedly stuck in the 70s. The menu was sufficiently broad but also somewhat dated. Food was served hot and quickly but every item was very over-salted to all three of us at the table. My Steak Diane was over -salted to just before the point of inedible. Which is too bad because the cut of meat seemed to be very good. In the health conscious age, this is unacceptable. Even the mashed potatoes were heavily salted.

   My husband and I have wanted to try Dempsey’s for a while and went with another couple. We enjoy a good big end steak but the whole experience was disappointing considering the price point of the dishes. It was on the side of a sports bar, the service was very delayed and not very attentive, the food was mediocre and the steak had very little flavor. The Cesar salad was the best part of the meal. Won’t be back, there are plenty of outer steakhouses with similar price points that are truly incredible. Skip Dempsey’s and head south.

   1st time at Dempsey’s. Service was exceptional, food was superb & drinks were made perfectly to order every time! Would definitely go back for a special occasion. Have no idea why there were any reviews below 4-5 stars.

   Dempsey’s is the best restaurant on the resort premises, and unless you have a car, there aren’t a lot of options in the area. I went at 9pm, there were a few tables finishing up. Food was average, my steak came out rare instead of medium rare, which the server knew because he cut the steak and said he could put it on for a few more minutes if we wanted but served it anyways. Servers were nice but not customer focused. When you are the only people dining you don’t expect a steak to take 30+?minutes to come out, to have long pauses between every course, and to wait 20 minutes to get the check at the end. What was quick was the servers asking us if we were done so they could take our plates away before we were finished every course and removing all the table cloths and place settings so they could go home.

   Our servers were friendly enough, however they barely paid attention to our needs and it took forever for us to get our entree, our dessert and our check when the night was over. The food itself was fine, but not fantastic and certainly no worthy of the price tag. Then appetizer was scallops atop a weird banana mush. Separately, those things would taste good but together, it didn’t mix well. The steak was decent, but again, not worth the price. The dessert was a carrot cake and was actually not good at all. It tasted dry and the cream cheese icing wasn’t tasty. I think I would’ve found better carrot cake at the bakery in a grocery store. Given the hype around the restaurant and the prices, I was assuming it would be a great meal. Sadly it didn’t quite live up to the accolades.

    My wife and I ate at Dempsey's for the first time, after hearing good things...we weren't disappointed. Though the food took a little longer than I would have liked to get to us, it was really superb. Great steak, tender and very tasty. We loved the Brussel sprouts and mushroom sides, and the sour cream cheesecake was to die for. A bit costly, we'd eat there more often if a little less expensive, but overall a great experience.
