Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse - Utica
Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse affords Utica diners that want a real challenge the opportunity to give a 24-ounce certified Angus Delmonico steak an attempt. The 16-ounce center cut New York sirloin is nothing to sneeze at either. Not just large, the steaks are full of flavor with perfect seasoning and seared to perfection. The menu at Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse doesn’t end there, however.
Chicken is also well represented at Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse with dishes such as chicken Sinatra, chicken prosciutto, chicken marsala and chicken riggies. The classics like shrimp scampi, veal parmigiana and lasagna are all available as well. Dessert options such as the homemade cannoli and amaretto cheesecake finish off the meal perfectly.

Went here for New Years Eve. Had a reservation. Got there on time. Had to wait. My friend who can't hear very well went in to check in. He said they will call me on cell phone. My friend said let's get a drink. Found out you had to buy food to sit at bar, not Delmonicos fault, a state thing. Left bar sat on bench in waiting area. Big younger guy came over and said "I guess I can't get you out of here, so follow me. Sat us right next to receptionist, with phone ringing all the time, workers hanging out constantly. I guess we were not suppose to sit in wait area. Maybe he told my buddy this? But you think they would rope off or put signs on benches. When he told me that if it was just me and my wife, I would have left and went elsewhere. Table setting was very basic. No table cloth. My steak was overdone, my wife's pork chops were dry as a bone. They put a whole tablespoon of sauce on side pasta dish. You may say why didn't we send food back, well than we could watch other couple eat dinner. Than wait another 1/2 hour. Than they could watch us eat. For the price they charge. I expected a lot better. For half the price I could have went to Outback, and enjoyed a better steak. With bake potatoe, & salad. This was not a problem of shortage of help. They had plenty standing around. I gave the waitress a 20 percent tip, she was average. She held on to the ice like it was gold. Buddy got ice tea that was hot, with one cube in it. I had to order a glass of ice to put in our drinks. If I am going to pay these prices, I will go to Ruth Chris. Needless to say I will not be back to another of your places.
Service was very slow
Salmon was very good. Two steaks not so good. A lot of fatty tissue, not much meat. Coffee was not tasty, no flavor.
Dissapointed that dairy free milk alternative, like almond milk was not offered. Every desert offered had cream and dairy.
It would be nice to have at least one desert that is not cream based and with fruit.
Waitress was very attentive, friendly.
The food and service were good, no complaints. However, it would be nice to have a wider menu choice, especially something that doesn't come with pasta or potatoes. I know you can add asparagus, etc., but at an extra fee. For people on a health required low carb diet, like me, it would be wonderful to have a vegetable choice as a substitute without paying extra for it. There are gluten free choices for meals, but it would be just as easy, if not easier, to also offer low carb side dish alternatives.
Delicious meal with excellent service.
Beef tips over mashed potatoes were awesome! Portion size was huge.
Excellent service, excellent food, waitress was top notch, whole experience was very nice. We'll be back.
Excellent food and service, sat outside. N. Genesee Street is a bit noisy for outdoor dining, but it was bearable
Overall we enjoyed ourselves. I was able to get the table I wanted and our server was very attentive. Food was delicious, but not quite enough for my dish, Filet Marsala. Otherwise, everyone else in my party was satisfied and some took food home. I recommend DelMonicos! Great service from walking in to going home.
Always a great experience. We go a few times per year!
It was great. Very clean.
Delmonico's is always a outstanding experience. The service and attention to detail is second to none.
Great availability of choices whether you want pasta, seafood, veal, chicken or beef. Large portions, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere. Loved our dining experience!
Great atmosphere and amazing food!
Birthday celebration. Booked online. They gave us a free dessert which was perfectly fresh. Antipasto 2as very good. Steak perfectly cooked. Martini great. Server kind to us old folks. Definitely recommend it!
Disappointed..the menu changed. My favorite dish was gone.my husband's dish was so spicy he didn't eat it.my favorite dessert was sold out . It wasn't the dinner experience I wanted for my 19 anniversary.
Food was excellent as usual and our waitress Emily was very friendly, helpful and went the extra step for us.
Besides having to wait 15 minutes when we had a reservation everything else was great.
Good food, good value and excellent service
My brother choose to celebrate our brother's 72nd birthday here. While slightly early for our 6:00 reservation, we were seated and ordered pretty promptly. We did not receive our dinner until just before 7:00. Our waitress apologized, the manager came over and offered some complimentary appetizers, and then desserts on the house.
Food was as usual: acceptable; the server was as dutiful but the wait was annoying and the sole reason that I am responding to this review.
Our waiter was very attentive she even noticed there was something in our glass before she gave us the drink. She did an Outstanding job.
Everything was great came out for valentines dinner. just our mash potatoes was taking a while after receiving our food and when they came out they were cold i felt like since we waiting more time for them to come out they should’ve been hot and not cold. Overall it was our first time loved our server and the hospitality from all the workers.
Was very good. We did have an issue with our gift certificates , but the manager Brian was awesome and helped us out with them, and also gave us an appetizer that we love and wasn’t on the menu . We will definitely be going there again soon.
Love this place, we have never had a bad meal there. Always cooked to perfection. The service is always excellent.
Always good. The greens were excellent and our pasta dishes were terrific. Great value when there is so much food we have plenty for dinner the next evening.
Great service. Our friends were very happy as they had never been to Delmonico steak house before. Great food because of great service
Really wonderful service, attentive but not obtrusive wait staff. Food was delicious, done perfectly, and turn around time from order to table was pretty short. The calamari was the best ever: tender not chewy. And the spicy sauce: very yummy. Overall, a great meal. Best restaurant in town!
Good food, good service. Not the most expensive, but not cheap either. 4 of us, a few drinks, not a lot of extras, $171 with tip.
We had a fantastic dinner. We were seated in a booth just for 3 people. It was very cozy and easy to converse. The drinks weren't correct but we were able to still drink them. We all had steak, and it was cooked to perfection. I had a baked potato, and it was large and good. We all had asparagus and was cooked all the way through. It was not too el dente. Service was great and desserts were great, too. Only thing that disappointed me was that Open Table asked if we were celebrating something, and I said we were celebrating a birthday. Nothing was said about that.
We waited quite a while for our food, it was lukewarm. Our waitress was excellent, very accommodating to always coming to our table. I do enjoy the food, but like I said it was warm not hot. The gravy and mushrooms looked like they were glued together, steak was just ok
Food is always fresh, staff is always courteous, and they do live up to their reputation of ensuring you are taken care of should anything be wrong with your meal. Priced competitively with area restaurants that offer similar fare.
I have been a fan of Delmonicos but this visit was very disappointing. Menu has changed immensely. What Italian restaurant doesn’t have Chicken Parmigiana on their menu?? My husband ordered a $30 steak. It literally was presented as a steak on a plate, nothing else and a bowl of mashed potatoes. No garnish or salad included. That’s another big thing salad is extra. I ordered my favorite Chicken Sanatra. Very disappointed. Hardly any sauce and again the presentation was very lacking. We paid $80 for our meal and felt totally ripped off. Will not be going back.
We arrived we were seated quickly, waitress was always on point, took our order for two Very well done steaks. I had to say VERY well done because on our last visit we had to return the steak three times. This time we both ordered steak and both steaks were to be VERY well done. When they arrived to the table blood was coming out of the top of steak I could see it going all the way through the brown gravey and in my mashed potatoes. My husbands was the same way. Well done means no blood and seeing blood in my food is disgusting. Both were returned to the kitchen and when they were returned it was cooked more but was still bloody we gave up and ate what we could and left the rest. I feel at this point we need to order chicken not the steak. But that defeats the point of a steak house. But the service was great other then that.
It was New Years Eve, however we were there last year for the same holiday and the bar was 3 or 4 deep. We managed to get sat for dinner in a timely manner.
As busy as it was with our Open Table reservation.
Now this year, it was completely different. It was no where as busy. And still they managed to diss us even though we had an Open Table reservation. It was rude and unacceptable. My husband and I will Never go back there. Especially when there are so many more wonderful restaurants in the area. And more opening.
Had 6:45 reservations were seated at 7:35. Ordered linguine and clams the clams were tender but the rest of the dish tasted like bland greasy noodles. Hate to say but really bad maybe due to being busy. New year eve.
New Year’s Eve with family. Food was great but it was a LONG wait for a seat and food. We had reservations and were sat an hour later. Multiple parties who came in afterwards were sat before our party of 5 including a party of 12. We were told it was because parties of 2-4 and very large parties with reservations are easier to sit. The large parties have little rooms. Hmmm... we had a reservation. Guess ours didn’t matter. Also, why can’t you put two tables together?
The food was slow to come out. The waitress told us several times it would be out soon but it wasn’t. I think she truly believed it would be out soon. She apologized numerous times. They ended up giving us free desserts which high was nice but my 2 sons both had plans to meet up with friends and both were late for their commitments. One had to drive to canastota from Utica. He almost cancelled because it got to be so late.
We left extra in the tip for the waitress as she was great and doing the best she could - but we could tell she was a bit frustrated by the slowness of the kitchen. Used to be a favorite spot for us and hadn’t been there in awhile.... Not sure we’ll go back.
Went on New Year’s Eve ,we had reservations for 5:00 they sat us immediately. They were extremely busy and we had a wonderful dinner.
Very well appointed restaurant with great atmosphere. Phenomenal food and huge portions! If you leave hungry it’s your own fault! Try the Calamari for an appetizer and Filet Sinatra for dinner—you won’t be disappointed.
Everything was delicious we enjoyed our night out as a family we will be back.
We arrived a little early with a reservation, and were seated within 20 minutes. This being Christmas eve, we were pleasantly surprised the wait wasn't a bit longer. The hostess was less than friendly, but I'm sure some of the guests waiting may have been less than kind to her. Our server was excellent and although the place was packed as usual, we didn't wait too long for water or wine refills. My filet was done perfectly and the others at our table were equally happy with their meals. Our children were visiting and we wanted to have a nice dinner with family, and they were able to provide that. Very happy with our experience.
