31 Year Anniversary
To me This is the best restaurant in San Francisco
Delfina is a lovely restaurant with fantastic foods, great wines, amazing staff. Always grateful when I get to go here!
Not a good value for the $. The $136 steak was barely edible - leftovers came home for the dog. But the spaghetti was good.
The Salmon was the best I've ever eaten! So rich and moist! The Tartine bread was the best I've ever tasted. The service was personal but not intrusive. We had a wonderful evening at Delvina. We did ask them to turn the music down, and they did. Then we could talk. It was a 5-star evening.
The food was perfect, as was the service. I could not think of anything that could have been better. From the bread to the pasta to the dessert, all was fantastic.
Increíble! El chef vino a la mesa a explicarnos la carne personalmente!
Lugar súper agradable, comida riquísima y atención muy buena !!!
Had dinner here our first night in SF and were not disappointed. Our waiter was helpful and friendly, he was able to give us good information as we navigated both the wine and the dinner menu. Originally I was excited to try the Sunday Supper but then I feared it might just be a bit too much food so we both ordered the spaghetti along with a salad for me and the Tartine bread to share. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was wonderful. I would definitely come back and the next time, we will just go for it and order the big old Sunday Supper.
We had Molly again and she is fantastic! She brings both a great energy and deep knowledge of both the food and wine offerings.
The food never disappoints and there is always something new and fresh on the menu.
We’ve been coming more frequently since moving to the hood.
The food was inventive and the sauces were amazing.
Quality food ingredients but preparation not a wow, slow service.. about an hour for the entree to come out in my case. Friendly servers but not very experienced, possibly new. Charging for the bread is unheard of! Such a turn off!
Interior is outdated and old. Confined seating space, very uncomfortable. Cramping as many tables as possible. Not sure why the hype. So many better choices in San Francisco. One visit here is enough for me.
Octopus a bit tough
Waiter kinda disapeared
The food was amazing and delicious. We started with the bread from Tartine and it was incredible! We shared a spaghetti for the table and it was perfectly prepared! I had the wild salmon it was perfection! My husband had the steak and he loved it. Very tender. Our friends had calamari salad and roasted chicken they both loved their dishes. Everything we had was superb and presentations were great. We haven’t been for several years and we’re happy we came back. We’ll be going again soon! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Our best meal during our two weeks of dining out in San Francisco. We were inpressed by both the compositions and flavors of our beautifully prepared dishes. Many restaurants can construct imaginative offerings, but not all that many deliver on the syneregy between various flavors. Delfina selects the freshest ingrerdients and artfully combines them to maximize your taste experience. The atmosphere was fun and energetic with '60's era rock and roll music transitioning into later era classics during the evening. The service was also attentive and efficient. However, the food was the heart of the experience. I had the Monterey Bay Calimari with white beans followed by the Paccheri All'Amalfitana with local rock cod. Both were superbly seasoned and garnished to my complete enjoyment. We didn't have time for the interesting desserts choices, but wished that we'd been able to try them. I would encourage you to try it for yourself, because I think you would really like both the wonderful food and the hip, friendly vibe of the place.
Still my favorite restaurant after all these years! Great service and excellent food. The spaghetti is simply to die-for...
This place is always excellent. The food is creative, the portions aren't teensy, the prices aren't stratospheric, the crowd is older but not ancient, it's lively, and overall, it's great food and fun.
The food the staff and our server molly was awesome. She was attentive and so kind to my children. The food was delicious too. I wish Defina had more restaurants.
Simply delicious!! I loved the gem salad and gnocchi.
Consistently excellent dining experience. Best pasta in town.
I’ve been a customer since they opened. The quantity of food for the price is way too small, the wine list is very expensive with no red wine by the glass , the cost of the meal was exorbitant and I left hungry , without a buzz and completely not satisfied.
I very good dining experience. Definitely planning on returning!
The food continues to be outstanding and the service was warm, friendly, understated, and unpretentious. The only misses were the desserts which were below their usual high standards.
No Thanks .. this is too much follow up to use this app
No wonder this restaurant has it been in business for 20 years! The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is a very nice elegant casual, and the service is terrific.
The appetizers, pastas, main courses, and the desserts are truly memorable.
Great service and food
Wonderful food, amazing service! My gnocchi was buttery soft with plenty of truffle-y umami goodness in every bite.
The food was exceptional but the service was terrible. It took 30 minutes for our order to be taken, 20 minutes to get one salad, another 30 minutes to get one pasta dish. Our server didn't come to our table or make eye contact for 20 - 30 minutes at a time. When we flagged her down to understand the delay, she treated us with disdain. This is an expensive restaurant and I expect a higher level of service. Delfina didn't seem to care. I won't be going back.
Service wasn’t good. Waiter forgot several items. And he disregarded what I ordered (being a girl) i think he was inly listening to the guy in the table. Food was bleh. Ambiance was super basic. Bathroom was clean. Was expecting more.
The spaghetti sounds simple but is excellent. The portions aren't huge, so if you're hungry you will probably need to order an appetizer (which don't come cheap here). If you're willing to spend the money, definitely come here once.
It was exceptional like always!
Delfina was such s nice cozy place to dine. Everyone was so nice. Enjoyed my pasta very much. Thanks
Appetizers, cocktails, wine and dessert was delicious. Unfortunately the goat cheese pasta was too one note and the porchetta was very dry. Overall a bit pricey and underwhelming entrees made for a slightly disappointing meal. Our feedback on the porchetta wasn’t received warmly. Oh well. I’d come more often as I live in the neighborhood but I’ll let the memory of this meal fade first.
We had a very nice time! We went for restaurant week, the menu was an interesting variety and more exotic than typical. The service in particular stood out as fantastic, the wait staff was very fast and accommodating. The food came out quickly and they even brought us hot water with lemon. I also really liked the mirror on the wall tilted so that the person facing the wall could see the whole room! The dense chocolate pomegranate dessert was particularly memorable. Thanks Delfina!
Great for date night during restaurant week! The ravioli were anszing
Sf restaurant week
Sat over on the bar side. Service was inconsistent. Pasta was poorly cooked with much of the cheese escaping from the ravioli-like pasta, so they were empty. Mash potatoes were barely warm. Bread showed up too late. Should have been much better for the price. They did have interesting wines by the glass.
