My First time at DelacaSeas was so fun, stopped by for brunch with my family.
waitstaff was very friendly and food was great!
The best thing about this restaurant was the wonderful service we received from Michael the server who took care of us. He just recently started working there and was very attentive. The food quality was very good. So, you might ask why the two-star rating? Well, it goes something like this. We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation to be told that the table was not available and with no expectation of when it would be available. We were treated as if we were a bother rather than a customer. A gentleman came out who appeared to be the owner, when we asked when will our table be available since we had a 730 reservation, he answered, “well everybody had a reservation for 7:30“ If it were not for Michael advocating for us to have a table, we would’ve probably never sat down and would have gone elsewhere. We were finally seated at 7:55 pm and we did not receive our meal till 9:00 pm.. It’s a shame because the restaurant is quite lovely, and we understand that a small restaurant can have a challenge meeting all its reservations. The point was the lack of care from the owner and frankly, we never even received an apology or even acknowledgement that they were not ready for us. There are so many great restaurants and choices at this price point (our meal for 2 was over $100) that we will not be back given the attitude from the owner. Not once did he apologize. It’s too bad he takes the locals for granted. When the hot summer days arrive, locals are the ones that would help him survive the doldrums.
When we arrived after making a reservation for 7:15, we were told that someone else had snatched our table
Delicious food, and very gracious service. A favorite to return to each year.
3 out of 5 dishes were cold. $9 waffles were Eggos I’m sure. Hard and cold. Server was slow and inexperienced. Overpriced for what you get. Don’t waste your time and money.
Wonderful little restaurant near the beach in Pompano area. Fish was fabulous. Large portions. Great service.
A nice place for a quiet dinner. The crab cakes and snapper were delicious. Great service. I love the quirky decor.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in lauderdale by the sea. The quaint decor (with vintage accessories) just adds to the total experience. Kudos to the chef for the excellent menu and preparation. Our server, Paul, was the best!
This is a great place to eat. Very homey feeling and great friendly staff. My favorite is the Snapper Picatta.
Has been my favorite restaurant in the Fort Lauderdale area for several years. I visit it every time I’m in the area.
First time here and loved the experience. Ambiance is lovely, like sitting in your grandmother’s dining room. Service was prompt and attentive. Had breakfast, which was delicious and prepared to order. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a recommended restaurant and they take Open Table reservations.
We have always found Delecaseas to be a wonderful dining experience. Our last trip we were disappointed in the Crab Cakes. But tonight it was back to normal. I had the special Brazino fish dinner and my wife had the Snapper Picatta. Both excellent. This place is highly recommended by us. Bypass the Crab Cakes, but everything else is superb.
My wife and I both ordered the branzino. Mine was cooked perfectly, hers not so much. Brussel sprouts were delicious. Sauteed veggies we're drowning in sauce. Beet salad excellent. Key Lime tini & Chocolate Mousse were both really good.
Dining at Delacaseas is like having dinner at a favorite relative's house.
Food is consistently delicious and Paul is a wonderful host.
Always look forward to our next meal.
Great food but under staffed. Consider it worth the wait for a
delicious meal.
Colleen is an outstanding & creative chef. Go for the food (not the decor)
Wine pairing dinner. Wines were ok not great or even above average. Food was excellent with red snapper licorice my favorite
We have been here several times. Food is always excellent, except last night my wife and I thought our crab cakes tasted a little fishy. We don’t think the crab was fresh. Our friends meals were delicious. They had veal and salmon. We will be back, but we won’t order the crab cakes again.
We had a lovely night at DelacaSeas. The food and service were great. Highly recommended.
Very quaint small restaurant, with a bed and breakfast feel to it. Interesting menu, with a number of intriguing breakfast items (4 types of eggs benedict, etc.). Service reasonably attentive and more than willing to do the little extra things - bring an extra scone, or sausage patty, to suit the most finicky guest (i.e. my brother).
Fabulous, intimate, friendly, delicious, warm, special, small dining paradise. Our waiter was knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. Even met the chef! She came over to chat, served our food, and made certain that our dining experience was special. Looking so forward to our next visit! Thank you Colleen.
Lovely place, great service, and awesome food. This is a small place you wouldn't easily see so it seems like a hidden gem. I had the market special which was branzino fish with fresh brussel sprouts that was cooked perfectly. I also had the beet salad and key lime pie (deconstructed). It was all a feast for my taste buds. Loved it and will be back.
Greta place , friendly staff and a unique experience
The food was nicely prepared and the service was personal and friendly. A good neighborhood vibe in a place that emphasizes repeat business.
We will return.
Nice small restaurant off the main roads.
What a lovely find! This is a simple restaurant with a casual beach feel, and the food is outstanding! The service was great, and even the chef came out to see how everything was.
We do not live in the area but it is definitely worth a drive!
Thank you!!!
Collett and Paul cooked and serve a marvelous dinner. The crab cakes are probably the best in South Florida . A recipe that a behind the scenes part time chef Carlos may have influenced. The rack of lamb in a demiglace sauce on risotto was delicious. A decent ordinary Montpulciano was a good pairing. Finish with a deconstructed key lime pie, when added to the catch up conversation with the staff, made the dinner! This is a neighborhood gem for fine dining fare and simple elegance. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and catering, Delacaseas Cafe is a Lauderdale By the Sea dining treasure. Located downtown & just north of Commercial Blvd, there is ample new public parking is next door. Treat your taste buds and visit them.
Ambiance and service are terrific. Food is great Colleen makes a great cobbler and Paul makes you feel at home. A must go to all in area
Absolutely great restaurant. I’ve been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is exceptional. My favorite restaurant in south Florida.
We have often dined at Delicaseas and we are never disappointed. Food is consistently delicious and service is very pleasant. Usually Paul takes care of us, but this time we had the pleasure of meeting Carlos as our server. He was efficient and very pleasant to. talk to and we had a wonderful and memorable evening.
Excellent in every way...service, food, presentation! Very personable dining experience. Highly recommend!
By far the best restaurant in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Great food, fun atmosphere, nice people! I highly recommend it!
Enjoyed the food, service, and ambience. I recommend the restaurant highly.
Very nice Sunday brunch at DelacaSeas! Menu is not huge but is varied. Everything we had was quite good. They also had a brunch special, but we stayed with the lunch menu. Service was friendly, and good. We will be back soon.
We were sat near the kitchen were we heard the microwave door slam open and close the entire meal. They had no children's menu or changing table in restrooms to start. We ordered the Brussels caesar which had no flavor and was just weird served warm. I had Snapper, my husband Scallops and my daughter chicken marsala. All meals were flavorless and absolutely disgusting. My mash potatoes looked reheated several times my 2 year old spit them out. It's sad we wanted to try a new place close to home and were just so disappointed. Are server looked homeless and on drugs and the food was horrible we will never return!!
Consistently great food. My 'fussy' friend had the branzino, an evening speacial and loved it. She took home an order of crab cakes for the following day and was thrilled. They were loaded with crab meat and delicious. I had chicken marsala, a house favorite and favorite of mine. Parking is a pain right now, but there are plenty of places to park within a short walking distance.
The dinner menu was limited and the prices were high for the venue. The place is going for cutesy but the prices are too high for cutesy. The food was mediocre. My friend had to return her chicken dish as being inedible. Had looked forward to eating there but will not return.
I hosted a small dinner party for 10 and it was outstanding. I worked with Pauly to come up with a menu that would appeal to the group of foodies I would be dining with. We started with large, ice cold shrimp cocktail, a beautiful selection of gourmet cheeses and homemade bread, antipasto with imported meats, olives, peppers, etc. There was a table set up with a selection of red, white and blended wine. This was serve while we waited for all guests to arrive. Once seated we had a delicious meatball appetizer, followed by a porcini mushroom risotto and field of greens salad. Main course was sauteed red snapper and chicken masala served with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable. Strawberry shortcake birthday cake and my special request to Pauly 's was for his secret recipe blueberry scones (that were served hot.....i thought I was in heaven). Truly a great local restaurant that makes you feel like you might be sitting in a European cafe. Warm, comfortable, friendly staff make you feel at home. I have been for breakfast, lunch, dinner and the once a month wine dinner and have never been disappointed. A great local place with fresh, delicious food.
Best chicken marsala I've ever had! Be sure to save room for the homemade cobbler dessert, amazing! Small, quaint, intimate restaurant. Nice selection of wine by the glass $9. I would definitely recommend and we'll definitely be returning guests.
This was our third trip to Delacaseas and it was as good as the first time. The menu is small, but the presentation is very nice. They do offer several specials, but the prices on those can be relatively higher than the offerings on the regular menu. They have a small selection of wines, but they are fine and reasonably priced. We will definitely return.
