What Insiders Are Saying
Del Posto is one of the best special occasion restaurants in New York City. Think of it like a more upscale Babbo, or Daniel with pasta.
Absolutely wonderful. Grazie mille!
Wow! We were exceptionally impressed by our evening at Del Posto. The service was superb, the food was nothing short of amazing, and it was easily one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. I highly recommend Del Posto and I cannot wait to return for another amazing experience.
The best Italian restaurant we’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world. The food was superb and the waiting staff were fabulous. Thank you for the extra special efforts made on our anniversary. We will be back next time we visit New York.
Ambience was warming , staff was great, food was very good. Having dined at many fine restaurants throughout my lifetime I have never spent as much money as I have at Del Posto. It was just my wife and I, we didn’t order bottles of wine but we had cocktails and individual glasses of wine. While the atmosphere and food were very good I cannot say it justified the cost of our dining experience.
The food was fabulous and the service was great. Looking forward to our next visit.
Awesome lunch to celebrate
Service was well timed. Food was amazing. Our server accommodated certain food restrictions with great care to explain all the dish components. The intermezzo offerings were spot on and we left being wowed
Deserve two Michelin stars and can be compared with any three stars
The service was exceptional and the atmosphere as well. The food presentation was very good but we have had much better Arctic chard and halibut in other restaurants. The meal and the very expensive wine we bought did not meet our expectations.
This restaurant never disappoints. From our moment being seated, to leaving the restaurant at the end of our meal, was splendid. The service was impeccable, with perfect timing to enjoy each course without feeling rushed or delayed. The menu had several fresh items as well as existing dishes that nevertheless differed in taste and presentation. No need to say more--perfect.
Having dinner at Del Posto is an experience
It was actually disgusting. Not sure what happened but not worth $20 let alone $500. Last 2 courses - inedible. The special truffle pasta for another $20 - could have made it myself.
Beautiful restaurant and amazing service! Only downside was the extremely expensive prices but the wait staff and the food made it worth it! Great for a very special occasion, birthday or anniversary (we went for my boyfriends 29th birthday) We loved it and we were treated like a king and queen! All of the food was amazing and the dessert was my favorite part!
Unbelievable culinary experience. Not cheap but worth it!
Host is below average.
Bathrooms are embarrassing. Not nice. May as well be from Starbucks — not a place I’m paying $1000 dinner for two.
Waiter was five star.
Food experiences was five star.
Wine selection five star.
The specially priced lunch is a tremendous value. With so many pre and post lunch chef's bites you'll be awesome by it all. Plan to relax and enjoy the whole ambiance.
Perfect double date!
Perfect experience! Best Italian restaurant I’ve ever tried outside of Italy!
The restaurant is lovely and a fine dining experience but the food was not nearly as special to match.
We enjoyed our experience very much. We celebrated a special occasion with the Captains table wine pairing which was excellent. This is an upscale expensive restaurant and perfect for our occasion
The capitalina menu was great staff was amazing and very helpful overall experience was phenomenal
Taking my granddaughter to lunch.
I celebrated my birthday here. As always, impeccable service and delicious food.
One of the best restaurant experiences i’ve ever had
I hesitated to give five stars, but it is difficult to find a reason to reduce either the food or service rating, both of which were excellent. However, if you factor in the pretentious display and less than beautiful aesthetics, that did detract from the experience. For instance, our sommelier suggested the wine selection we made, from the Bastianich vineyards, no less, was substandard (because it was under $100?) - it was excellent, BTW. The description of dishes delivered to the table could have been lifted from an episode of Portlandia...funny in delivery, but not really all that helpful. This was definitely a "once and done" experience, no need to return. The food was excellent, but the price did not match the overall experience.
The finest pasta dish I have ever eaten. It defined al dente.
Great food and greater service!
Great food and service
My husband and I were blown away by Del Posto. This restaurant exceeds the hype and is perfect for any special occasion.
The service is outstanding and the food is probably the best Italian we have ever had. Even the bread is amazing. We opted out of the tasting menu and ordered several items across the a la carte menu ranging from pasta to cheese to crudo. We loved everything and highly recommend this restaurant.
Great service. Foods were great. I felt pampered. Definitely would go back.
Best meal I’ve ever had. We did the captains menu. I still dream about it. And so does my wallet. 💸
We love this restaurant and have dined here 5-6 times. The food is always very good but our most recent experience was a bit disappointing. We loved the Ribeye and the Lamb entrees as well as the primi pastas However, my wife ordered the Fusi Istriani pasta which was priced at $46 but did not realize that the wait person added the supplement which pushed the price up to $82.00 for just a pasta dish. It was simply not worth that kind of money. This really disappointed us. Service was good but slightly interruptive. We will come back but we will certainly be more careful to check the pricing on all of the dishes. It also appears that Del Posto has raised all of its prices to a level that seems excessive.
If you're looking for an Italian culinary experience in NYC, and are willing to shell out a few hundred dollars /person, then Del Posto should be your go-to. Excellent food, great service (although some of the wait-staff seemed a little too serious), and perfect atmosphere.
Unbelievable - went there for my birthday and did the Captain's tasting menu. The food and service were over the top amazing. We'll definitely go back next trip to NYC.
While the service was absolutely amazing, the food itself was just good (not great). Given the price ($480 for party of 2) and reviews, I had very high expectations. There are def better fine dining places in NYC.
Service impeccable! Wine amazing suggested by our sommelier. Some elements of the food were excellent, others mediocre.
App: Lobster and carne cruda (⭐️⭐️⭐️) Pasta: Girella and Cappellaci (⭐️⭐️)
Secondi: Pork trio (⭐️⭐️) Rib Eye (⭐️⭐️⭐️) Dessert (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)We chose the tasting menu and had better food at Mario Batali other restaurant Babbo. Personal feeling not worth the $$
Flawless service with the food a slice of Italian foodie heaven.
Wonderful meal, the team made us feel so special and the food was fanstastic!
