We were really looking forward to this outing. The food was just ok. The steak we ordered we could have had better at Texas Roadhouse. Service was a little slow and parking was terrible due to the garage being closed. We will not go back!
Celebrating my friends graduation
If you're looking for a loud bar with mediocre food presentation and 'pretty good' food.... this is your place. If you want a great meal with a quieter dining experience, head to the Del Friscos off Olive St instead.
The waiter was extremely inexperienced and knew nothing about the food or drink menu. There was no table cloths and the environment looked cheap. The steaks were burnt. We thought we were coming to a nice steak restaurant, but salt grass any average steak place would have been much better. This restaurant used to be nice…what happened?
The service is AWFUL. The manager is AWFUL. The hosts didn’t seem to know how to seat a table and let a server know. And when we finally got a server we were told our initial server was “too busy”. The food is great, although the crab cake Benedict on the brunch menu is not a crab cake at all just a few flecks of crab meat.
The restaurant was unusually slow given that it was a Saturday night. Our waiter tried to be attentive, but never there when needed. We were seated on the 2nd floor, where few tables were occupied. So it may have been easy for staff to forget about us. There was no music and what should have been a more lively atmosphere was lacking. The food was fine; no issues there.
They say it’s a dress code but a lot people was in there with regular clothes on. Not upscale. I felt over dressed
This is a formerly great restaurant that is ready to be scrapped and start over again. The interior of the restaurant is entirely run down and has really fallen into disrepair. It is no longer a first class dining experience. It’s time for them to hit the reset button.
The food was ok, I didnt have anything that was good enough to make me return. I had the deviled eggs, philly cheesesteak eggrolls, & bbq shrimp salad
Great experience and food. They even gave us a card for our anniversary that was signed by the staff! Would definitely go back!
This was our first visit tot he Uptown Del Frisco Grill. They did not have Valet but offered free parking int he lot right behind the building and they even had a security guard there. Our server Gilbert was excellent and let us enjoy a leisurely dinner without rushing us, My ribeye was excellent and the lobster and sirloin was tasty as well. The was the first time I had the roasted garlic mushrooms...to die for!!! Yummy
Great food and service.
Was expecting better. Probably will never return. Found hair on the chicken and my steak was extremely small and not cooked per my request.
Las mesa no estaba completamente limpia, se sentía pegajosa, el servicio fue mas o menos lento, lo que si el ruido es excesivo.
Seated immediately, host was nice. Everyone spoke. Waiter was prompt and made suggestions. Only thing was it was a little toasty in there so we ate and left. The food was amazing. We will be back!
Wait staff was fine, nothing exceptional.
Food was below average. Definitely not worth the price.
Drinks not served with cocktail napkins, made table constantly wet. Waiter said they don’t have cocktail napkins. Just boring, blah and uneventful. For sure won’t go back
I’ve wanted to try a Del Frisco’s for a long time and thought it would be a great place for my anniversary. Let me start with the server. Gave me a menu without the bottle menu and then wanted to correct me and open it in front of me until he realized “oh no bottle menu”. Later wanted to correct me about my wine order when I was just making a point about wanting to try a particular winery. Then when my date asked for chimichurri he was corrected and said churro sauce. No we have A1. It was very evident the server didn’t know the basics of the menu.
Overall the restaurant seemed very overwhelmed. We both ordered medium rare steaks. As you can see from the photo it was medium at best. We were asked to cut into it but until I made several cuts I didn’t know it was wrong. At that point I wasn’t going to send it back. Two appetizers and three sides and all were mediocre. The steaks tasted great. I would have spoke with the manager but he was already dealing with other unhappy tables. It made my anniversary a complete failure and it was also the very first time I put an anniversary or birthday on a reservation and not one person acknowledged it in anyway. This place left much to be desired.
The restaurant was awful
Very dusty and dirty and the food was horrible.
Not worth the money
The lobster tail I ordered was PINK!
Food is always good, and was today as well. But what stood out was the OUTSTANDING service from our waiter. I am only sorry that I did not catch his name, because he was one of the absolute best I've encountered. Just the right amount of helpful. Never interrupted--it was a working lunch, but was on pointe regarding every need. Read subtle cues and just took care of EVERYTHING. He took the dining experience to another level, which is always a challenge with a pressure sensitive work meeting.
Very good food and nice setting. I enjoyed lunch there on several occasions and plan to return soon.
Not a good experience at all. Food was good but not enough to return
I had the worse experience in this restaurant yesterday July 3 Saturday night.
Everything was so slow the bartender didn’t know how to make drink and he took so long the food was OK and the manager was so rude. We will never go back to this restaurant I never had this kind of service before and after all that we didn’t even got 1$ discount in the bill and after we paid everything + 20% tip when we walk out the restaurant the rude manager tell us to stop because he don’t see that we paid! So so so rude!!!!! We gave cash to his server + tip and we walk so upset after a nightmare night! DONT GO!
we had a party of 15 that Jared was expected to handle alone. he forgot everyone’s orders, MULTIPLE TIMES. we ordered our food at 9 something and didn’t have plates on our table until nearly 11pm. the food tasted okay, except i asked for my steak to be prepared MEDIUM and when i received it it was medium rare or rare. one of Jared’s coworkers came out and made the rude comment that he was slow and forgetful. in all honesty the waiter did his best but him being overwhelmed caused me to have a terrible experience for my 30th birthday dinner. also when the manager finally came to the table to apologize we had to ask him to accommodate us! which he did with watery shots lol. i do not recommend!!!!
Our server Antiono was AMAZING. Professional, attentive, and polite. We were celebrating my mother's promotion and he made the moment special. The food was phenomenal and the ambiance was great.
Wonderful experience! Only negative was being seated upstairs and most of the time no one else was seated up there, so ambience would have been better downstairs. Food and service were outstanding.
Gilbert was a wonderful server. Our food and drinks were great, and we had a fun date night. The prices were reasonable too. My husband really liked the fried artichoke leaves. It reminded me of a better blooming onion and the sauce was really good. Out of everything we ate, somehow the deviled eggs were my favorite. I’m sure craving them is what will make us go back again. We accidentally closed the place down and we’re the last to leave, but everyone was still really nice.
Gilbert was our waiter and he was outstanding! I loved the food, his knowledge of the menu and his delivery of all items. He had a warm personality and everything was outstanding!!
This restaurant is struggling with service - probably a problem created by the pandemic and the resulting scarcity of wait staff. It took us a long time to even get water on the table. I had to go ask the manager to take our drink orders. Once they assigned a waiter to the table he made a nice effort to serve us. But it took a while. He was supported by the manager, who checked in with us a lot.
Food was good but not outstanding.
I also thought the atmosphere was a little downscale. Not much of a dress code. It's just not as nice a restaurant as it used to be. We spent a lot of money ($400) for four people, and I don't think we got appropriate value for that. At that price point, I expect everything to be pretty good.
Knowing what I know now, I would have gone to Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse. Our experience at the Grille wasn't awful, but it wasn't what I had hoped.
After being seated it was about 15 minutes before we were acknowledged. Afterwards our waitress was amazing very good service from her. However, later that night I became ill I had the Lemon Dill Salmon, crab cake and truffle mac&cheese not sure which one was the culprit but I was sick for hours.
We left after 20 min, no greeting , no service offered. We saw 6 people standing around. I understand wait staff shortage coming out if the pandemic, this was clearly not the case.
Good food, a bit expensive but probably about normal for an Uptown restaurant, we enjoyed our meal and were glad to be able to get a table on short notice on a Friday night.
A lot of riff raff there. No dress code, people slightly loud, and the cocktail glasses were dirty (both hanging and on tables). Can’t say I’ll return.
Great Father’s Day meal. Waiter was amazing! Special shout out to the fun card dad was given at the end of lunch!!
Early the restaurant was quiet but the bar staff was quite unfriendly. Once I left the bar and was seated, my server was professional and polite, but the dining area became loud and less enjoyable. The food was good but not exceptional.
Xavier. Hands down. He took care of me and my party! He was very knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. His table manners/customer service were impeccable. Without having to ask for anything he was already in motion with it and he went above and beyond. Can’t say enough about the service.
Food…on point (per usual) and the drinks were amazing. But the service was a 12 out of 10 stars, only heightened the food/dining experience!
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent and the recommendations were spot on. The staff was very professional and attentive.
Thank you Juan and Joshua for accommodating such a special lunch for my birthday!
It was my partner’s birthday and I listed that in my Open Table reservation. We were seated for 5 minutes and nobody greeted us or got us anything to drink. I actually had to wave at someone to come to our table. Also, the server never asked if we were celebrating anything, much less did he look at our reservation to know we were celebrating a birthday. I am very disappointed by Del Frisco’s Grille and am considering letting others know about this unless they make it right somehow. Please forward this message to the Manager or owner of the restaurant.
