Del Frisco's Grille - McKinney Ave - Uptown Ratings and Reviews
Our service was great, however people that were walk-ins we're getting say before us even though we made a reservation. By the time it was our turn to be seated, there were no good seats left. We were taken upstairs in a corner on a high table 2 top in no man's land. I believe this as a result set the Dow fall for the evening. Our server Amanda was great, however when we ordered or wine (white wine) it arrived warm. Not just warm but rather hot as though the wine is not stored at a temperature even red wine should be stored at. It also arrived corked and was foul tasting. Afterwards our 3 appetizers arrived. All cold (sans the beet dish because it should be). It's rather difficult to enjoy beignets that are cold and mushy. Our entrees also arrived cold, my shaved prime steak sandwich was overcooked and just have been sitting for a bit prior to it arriving in front of me because the supposed crisped bread reaembled something more like bread pudding after absorbing all the steaks juice. Like I said other than our server Amanda, this meal was more than forgettable. I do not recommend coming on a weekend, even if it was a slow night due to the cold. Very subpar considering how lovely other Del Frisco’s locations are
Made the reservation with a request for a romantic table, it was Saturday night so I do understand but I we were next to the kitchen in the back. Noisy. Service was sub-par, stuck up servers, ....
less than 10 minutes after ordering our steaks were dropped in front of us, naked plate, only the steak, we were not offered or brought even bread... two bowls of mashed potatoes arrive a minute later, dropped off by runners, no butter, no sour cream... nothing... they were dry.
Steak was cooked fine, as expected, I pay $50 for a $24 piece of prime beef I expect it to be as ordered. It was VERY over seasoned, salty!!!!
I doubt I would return, my first trip to a Del Frisco's, I've heard the hype, I've tried... they failed. There are too many other options in Dallas to waste time with this place. The service is what really sets this place off as off-putting, from the moment you walk in.... add to that the over seasoned steak...forget it
We went for brunch - amazing brunch offering (food & cocktails). Our table started with cheesesteak eggrolls, and brunched on crabcake benedicts, chicken & waffles. So, they definitely have a variety from health conscious to comfort food. Everything was delicious.
As far as ambiance, it's upscale casual. It's packed with power suit lunches during the week, and special occasions on the weekend.
The service was fantastic - our server was very attentive and had great suggestions on the menu. Very pleased.
I was overall not please with my experience. It was intended to be a special occasion and our waiter initially left us unattended for quite some time. Then when he came over his delievery on the menu items was horrible, he proceeded to make side conversation about where the food was from which was prolonged and unnecessary. He then left for another extended amount of time, without taking any appetizer order or bringing us water. It basically drained the positive vibe my date and I had down. Eventually he placed our appetizer and order in the system.
We had to ask a manager to bring us someone else to serve us for the night, that server did extremely well for the remaining time we were in the facility.
When my steak was brought out, it was very undercooked they took it back to the kitchen (placed it in the broiler) and brought it back at the right temp but the outter part was charred on both sides. I eventually gave up on the overall service but went along so my date could have a good time but for the money I spent, McDonalds would have given me an overall better experience, I was so embarrassed in front of my date.
I will try this place again in the future but so far I dont have many positive things to say, based on my first experience.
It was good to get out of the office, however I was a bit upset when my party ordered water and were charged for Italian flat water. We did receive the bottled water and thought it was included, but we did not order it and were charged $14 for the two bottles. So, going forward, I just need to make sure that we get what we truly ordered and will just take our business elsewhere.
We chose Del Frisco's Grille to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Food was above average, but service was lacking. Lots of people walking and talking, not much service or attention delivered. Clearly a management and training issue. Wasn't the memorable night we had planned. Will only remember we overpaid for bad service when the credit card bill arrives in 30 days..
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. In addition to their regular menu they had a three-course prix fixe turkey dinner with all the fixings and a wonderful dessert choice. For a low-carb choice, the steak salad is always a winner. Our server, Brandon, was very accommodating and attentive.
Very disappointing experience and we discovered why it’s so easy to get a table there. Steaks were ordered medium and medium rare. One came out well done and the other came out medium well and it took 5 minutes to get a waiters attention. When they corrected this the steak was medium rare in a thin pink stripe but well done otherwise. Very disappointing for a place with steakhouse roots. Waiter would walk away after one person asked for something and not look to the rest of the table. Received our dessert without utensils and the waiter never came back despite asking another waiter to get him. Will not be coming back despite very good sides and dessert.
It was the worst service and meal I've ever received at Del Frisco's Grille. Our waiter was subpar. Considering we were the first table in the restaurant for the day, there was no excuse. He only brought one coffee but I ordered two. He never checked on us when we received our food until we flagged him down. I had rewards points to be used on my Del Frisco's dining card and he didn't apply them.
Our food was ok. My mom ordered the red velvet waffles with bacon. She asked that they make her bacon crisp and it was burnt. The waffle was extra crunchy as well. I ordered the Samee and I don't think my sausage was completely cooked and my potatoes were a bit burnt. My friend ordered the breakfast tacos and they were extremely small for the cost. He was going to order something else but it took forever to get the waiter so decided against it.
It will be a very long time before I go to this location again. This used to be my favorite special brunch place, especially for special occasions. Not anymore. The one in Legacy seems to be much better but I'm not in Plano often.
Nice atmosphere and decent food but the service was the worst I've had in years and I eat out in fine restaurants at least 4 times per week. Really horrific service, beyond description. One thing after another; not sure if it was the server or kitchen but would not go back on this basis. Too may other great choices...
Placed at a tiny table tucked away right outside the kitchen -felt like we were sitting in the kitchen away from all other guests. Food was nothing special -not much flavoring. I got steak which was cooked perfectly but it came just placed on a plate with no garnish or anything to make it look like the high priced steak it was. I ordered the Parmesan Frites as my side and they were normal french fries with a little bit of cheese sprinkled on (nothing special). My girlfriend ordered the Brick Chicken which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The chicken was not flavored enough and pretty bland as were the mashed potatoes which tasted like plain potatoes that we could have mashed ourselves. The asparagus were just steamed with no seasoning or anything on it -they were mushy and tasteless.
Food was very good except for the crab cake as an appetizer was no thawed enough I think. Steaks were very good
Waiter was super nice and friendly checked on appropriately
Bar was beyond slow. At one point I thought about leaving the table to go ask about our drinks. I had ordered an old fashion and when it did come it was as watered down as a glass of tea. But you can't see thru the glass of tea. This one was light old fashion I guess
Got cheesesteak egg rolls for an appetizer for the table but they were SO salty- yuck. Service was not great... Waitress hardly spoke to us, and slammed the check down shortly after our entrée came which we thought was odd especially given the fact we were there for a late lunch and it wasn't busy at all. I'll go back but have to say I was disappointed as this was previously a favorite destination,
We had the worst service I have every experienced at a del frisco grill. The server kept forgetting our order and we finally had to go to the bar to get a beverage as he was running around everywhere like a chicken with his head off. The manager finally came over and offered us dessert on the house for our troubles. The Plano location service is MUCH better.
The cheese steak eggroll was too salty. Kale/brussel sprouts salad with chicken and fish tacos were okay. The nutella bread pudding was delicious! There was a fly hovering around so we had to wave it away a couple of times. We were seated close to door leading to patio, which was left open. Our table wasn't 100% clean....a dust of pepper was still left on table. While we were eating dessert, the waitress didn't think of taking away the used cutlery. Anyway, for the price I was expecting better food and service.
