We like to come here before a show at Bass Hall. We always get good food and they are happy to accommodate our schedule to make the show. This trip was even better with a great waitress, Samantha, who was really on the ball. The seating is a bit crowded, but it does not interfere with your ability to enjoy great food and cocktails.

Great food and service. We were seated for our reservation right on time and our server Trevor was on top of every thing. Food was fantastic and even received a follow-up call the next day to make sure our dining experience was excellent. Will definitely come back when we are in Fort Worth for a night out.

It was frustrating to have made a reservation months ago and to be sat basically at the bar on folding tables, not regular seating. Food portions were extremely small, ice cream was served melted. Not a great Thanksgiving experience

We have dined at 25 restaurants this year alone. This will be my first review because people need to know. Where to start? First who make reservations to be sat in the bar area? Next we dined for thanksgiving but was also celebrating our anniversary! You could have sworn they didn’t know. The food was below par. Turkey meal, Stuffing was burnt, turkey was dry, potatoes you could have built a sand castle with those. Branzino, the skin flabby, charred fennel looked like the star of the dish. Service was poor, staff over worked and managers not helpful at all. They had no idea how to assist the team or check on tables. This was our first and last time dinning here.

The food was a huge disappointment. The 8oz fillet mignon was cold and over cooked, the mashed potatoes were so cold, the butter didn’t even melt. The Branzino was cooked to perfection, but the parsnip purée was disgusting (like rubber). I do not understand why you would put cold tomatoes and capers on top of hot fish. We did enjoy the friendly staff, especially (Daniel) the bartender was very nice and polite. The crab cake was extremely unusual, didn’t seem to be fried, was a scoop of crab meat on top of some unusual sauce that was cold. The wedge salad dressing was extremely salty and the bacon was really strange. Wish we would have left after the two disappointing starters, and not stayed for the entrée. My wife went home hungry because she couldn’t eat her food. Extremely disappointed and won’t be back anytime soon. Also, there is no longer valet parking. Save your money ($155 + tip) and go elsewhere. We walked away hungry and disappointed. What a sad Thanksgiving experience. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Just not the value it used to be. Little sad, but DFG used to be one of our favorites, but over the last few years every time we’ve come here they are out of this or that. This has now become a trend. This visit they were out of Mahi Mahi, Buns, and unable to ‘smoke’ the advertised smoked Manhattan, all by 5pm mind you. The food is alright, but nothing special, but they still act like they are a top tier place, but they are not. Think this will have been our last visit.

We had a bad experience here not long ago, but chose to give it another try before the Parade of Lighte. We had a 4:15 reservation. It took forever to get drinks. Eventually food arrived for 2 of the 8 people eating. It took 25 minutes of asking and staff “checking” to finally bring 5 more meals. The salad came out warm (like it had been sitting out somewhere). Both kid’s meals were wrong. At this time I went ahead and asked for to-go boxes, the check, and the remaining 1 meal still missing. It finally came. One kid’s meal and the meal that came out last were comped from the ticket. I don’t know that we will be returning.

We booked this for our anniversary dinner . The bar service was great. My wife’s chicken dish was served cold and we asked for it to be reheated and they brought it back missing the capers. The manager did not charge us for the chicken plate. We were told that we came at a busy time!

DFG is normally very good. However, this visit was subpar. The drinks were good, the food was fine, and the service was meh. The server was polite but rarely seen. We'll be back at some point.

Great restaurant, I go there at least once a month. Their food is always great and well prepared. The only concern I have is the service. The service is exemplary when you get it; the problem is that there is always a long wait to even get a drink order from a server. This has been a problem since the pandemic. While I understand that there is a general issue regarding service staff availability, waiting 20 minutes to even be approached by a server after seating, is very unreasonable. Last night it took 90 minutes from seating to final bill. This is unacceptable for a party of 2, who only ordered one drink and the same entree. I hope this changes because in every other regard, the restaurant is great, but this excessive wait for service may cause me to consider another restaurant.

A bit hit and miss. It has everything going for it to be an outstanding restaurant but it just misses the mark. The service was good and when my wine didn’t come they were on it. Starters were lovely but my steak for main was over done (asked for medium rare and was on the verge of well done). I did complain and a new steak was cooked and if anything it was more rare than medium rare but my partner had nearly finished their food so just wanted to eat. They took the steak off the bill which was a lovely gesture and we added a bit more to the tip as couldn’t fault our waiter but expected more from this restaurant. My partner had fish and chips and the batter was a bit on the soggy side. So overall the quality of the food for the price lets it down. Unfortunately we were only in town for one night so can’t come back to see if it was an off night.

It was our 31st anniversary and my husband and I wanted to try this restaurant downtown close to home. We started out with the appetizer cheesecake egg roll and it was very salty!! The steak I ordered was medium well and they gave me well done and so it was very chewy! My husband loved his fish and chips :) Our server was great and very attentive ! Won’t go back!! Better places for the money!!

Despite not being full on a Saturday night at 6pm the dinner was sub par. Things came out cold. Then had to request things like a spoon for cold soup three times so just sat there. Wine that was supposed to come with meal came when almost done eating. They have changed the menu and don’t have as many of the great options they had before. Obviously something has changed as the last two times have been not as great as many many precious visits. Sad that this restaurant is not as great as before. Hope they figure it out and improve service, food and response times.

Really horrible - quality of food, reliability of the service, and the excessive noise if you sit outside. There are much better places to eat a steak in this area. This place cannot do anything right. Horribly managed. Everyone completely incompetent. I cannot warn you enough how horrible and overpriced this place is. Do not go here.

Very nice dining experience prior to enjoying a show at Bass Hall. We enjoyed dinner outside on the patio. I had a ribeye and my daughter had the salmon. Both were very good. The cheesesteak egg rolls were a delicious appetizer.

I ate here before a show at The Bass Hall. I had read some bad reviews about the service so was hesitant. I sat at the bar and had great service. I got there during happy hour so my pinot noir was only $9. The clam chowder I had was not the way I like it. It was not thick enough and was overpowered by the bacon. My entree was the filet with blue cheese. It was okay. I ended with a peanut butter dessert that was out of this world. I chose this spot as I had a gift card. Overall the food was just ok.

First, our server was very nice. Jonathan did his best to provide exceptional service. Food experience was beyond subpar. Appetizer (egg rolls) was cold, very disappointing. The restaurant didn’t receive their food truck delivery 🙄 so they had no veggies other than potatoes. 2 of 3 steaks ordered were way over cooked , fish and chips stayed on appetizer theme and was cold when served. The manager did discount the 2 steaks 50%, but we just don’t feel like paying $400 for such sub par food. Will go elsewhere, and hate that, but the last few times here have been just bad.

Service by two wait staff needs improvement. Main waiter never smiled nor did he thank me for over tipping him. He’s more suited for a Chili’s.. The female waitstaff asked if we had taken a French fry from the cup. We hadn’t.. She then gave it to a another table. This was after it being on our table for ten minutes.. Surely, your restaurant can afford to cook a new one for the other table…

The Prime Rib melted in the mouth, and the Asparagus was cooked to perfection. The Twice Baked Potato was a delightful blend of flavors, and the New York Strip Oscar Style was a culinary masterpiece.
