Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
This was my second time dining at Del Friscos and I must say it has been a great experience each time. I made reservations for restaurant week about 2 weeks in advance as they can get very busy around that time. We did have to wait about 15 minutes for our table because they were running a bit behind, but the atmosphere and ambience made up for it. We ordered the filet medallions as our entree (medium) and they were cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very pleasant and took really good care of us throughout our dining. Would definitely be going back soon maybe for Mother’s Day or a Birthday.
Thomas, our server, was excellent. There was a woman seating guests that had a black knit dress SO short it was obscene!!!!! She had black fish net stockings & when she bent slightly to place menus I had to take my eyes away. She is overweight & looked like a street walker—ugh! I’d never let my grandchildren around a woman dressed like that.
This is our 3rd or 4th time to Del Friso's and every time we have an excellent experience. It was just me and my husband for this dinner, but have been with a group of 6 before and that was a positive experience as well. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine menu. They have 1/2 priced glasses of wine on Fridays!! We had a bottle of red wine, two filets, brussel sprouts and potatoes au gratin. We also had the cheesecake. Everything was really good! We did have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it was a Friday night and pretty typical of restaurants in Charlotte. Definitely will be back!
Our first time dining here and the experience was beyond EXCEPTIONAL!!! From the atmosphere to the food it is definitely in my top three. Could actually be #1! The wait staff was very engaging, well informed about the menu and made sure we were satisfied with each course. The steaks...IMPECCABLE!!! Desert..cheesecake...a very generous slice! It was soooo GOOD! I could've eaten a whole one. Returning very soon.
Went for an early New Year's Eve on 12-31-17. We've been to all the high end steak houses and this one, perhaps is the top (or at lease amongst them). Service is top drawer, drinks were awesome, a wine list 2nd to none in the Charlotte area, and of course, the food was delicious. I had the 45-day aged strip steak - couldn't finish it at the restaurant but it was one of the best steak experiences of my life. Do not hesitate to use Del Frisco's as a place to enjoy yourself and impress those with you.
Our table was in the basement “wine room” instead of the main dining room with no explanation even though I made the reservation days in advance. Had to send my steak back once, sent my wife’s salmon back twice (They took that off our bill). Server was very nice but not very attentive and our dinner (we both ordered the pre-fixed menu) took two and a half hours due to unexplained Lon periods of waiting between courses which led to eating too much bread as we waited for food.
Of the 5 of us dining together only 2 of the 5 meals came out correct. 1 was cold, 1 completely wrong and the other not prepared correctly. Food was overseasoned heavily salted and peppered almost inedible. We have dined here before and we were terribly disappointed.
Del Frisco's. is my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. Great for special dinners and we love to go there for happy hour. However, I was a bit disappointed this time as my salmon and potatoes were barely warm. The waiter took them back and when he returned the salmon was a bit better, but the potatoes still barely warm. At the end of the meal the waiter asked how my meal was and I told him potatoes were still not really warm and salmon was ok. My meal was taken off the bill which I felt was the right thing to do though we did not ask them to do it. I have never had anything like this happen before so it will not discourage me from returning to the restaurant.
