We had the "horse feast" fixed price menu with wine pairings. It was another incredible meal. Already thinking about next time.

An unexpected pleasure! Literally everything we consumed was delightful, from the homemade bread to the homemade ice cream and everything in between. Everything we ate had something extra special - tiny smoked trout roe that were glorious little bursts of smokiness, sparkles of lemon hiding in the mussels, even the herbs in the bread and the ginger the bartender added to a gimlet when we asked for a "gimlet with a little something special." If we are ever in Worcester again, we will be back!

This is just a follow up to my previous rave for chef Jared Forman and the team behind deadhorse as we just went for brunch for the first time. As in my previous experience, the ambiance and service from the moment we entered were top flight. The restaurant also has a different, lighter feel with lots of natural light during the day which is perfect for brunch. And the food: Highly recommend the Japanese Breakfast (Jared's pickle magic is on fine display here) -- there is nothing like it on any brunch menus around here. The egg sammy and soft scramble were excellent as was the pastry "basket" which was actually a generous platter of pastry, muffin, and biscuits. And by all means get the schlatte iced coffee drink. Dare you to drink just one.

We went on a Friday night at about 630PM. We ordered charcuterie for an appetizer and it was amazing. Lots of delicious cheeses and meats along with local honey and spiced nuts. For the entree we had the Whole Fried Sea Bass. It was insane! A whole fried fish complete with head and fins! When we were finished eating the fish, they asked if we'd like them to fry the bones! They brought the fried skeleton back with a spicy fish sauce that is house made. It was really good and crispy! I never thought i would eat fried fish bones and fins, but we did and it was delicious. You have to try this if you get the Sea Bass!

Deadhorse Hill is pretty good, even if some of the initial energy is fading now that they are more established. Kudos to the owners for contributing to the revitalization of downtown Worcester, bringing jobs and creative gourmet cuisine to a neighborhood where they are needed. Now they need to focus a bit on value and choice. We were one of the last parties on Valentine's Day. The service was quick and friendly, even at that late hour. The special menu had some great selections, but their inflexible policies made ordering a challenge. The only way to get anything from the special menu is for the whole table to order the whole menu. I indulged my wife and ordered it, but that meant I couldn't try the rigatoni I really wanted from the new regular menu. The server asked the chef and returned with a story about being out of some items and low on others and not wanting to intermingle the already-plated inventory, which didn't really make sense at 10:00 pm. Was dinner for two really worth $300? Well, the food was good; the wine and dessert were great, but maybe not up to that level. Also, there should have been a way for me to order what I wanted without depriving my wife.

My husband saw this restaurant on the Phantom Gourmet and wanted to go to try the reuben sandwich. Unfortunately, it wasn't on the menu that evening but we had an excellent feast, and that is exactly what it was. Great food, very personable staff and proprietor. We had a five course meal. Some of the best mussels I've ever had. My only disappointment was the table we were seated at. I had asked for a table to the side (corner) when I made the reservation, because we were celebrating a few special occassions but our table was directly across from the door and every time it opened we got the cold draft our way. But other than being a little chilly, all in all, it was an excellent evening. We will definitely return again!

The food was delicious and innovative. Our dessert had a maple infused fluff over homemade bourbon ice cream and "incredible" doesn't even describe it- I'm not even a huge dessert person but, wow. Our server was helpful and very well informed. The ambiance was fantastic. Overall great experience!

This was one of the best experiences of my life . The staff especially our bartender was amazing. Our bartender knew that it was our first time in the restaurant and he took extra special care of us . I forgot his name but he can't be Missed he is a large tall man with a beard and tattoos. The food was perfect, it is local grown farm to table fresh . We were seated next to a two very interesting people that are involved in the locally grown seasonal fresh food movement. The woman's name is Lynn Stromberg. She can be found at Lettuce Be Local her website or on Facebook . The entire menu was very creative and original. Even the drinks are original to Deadhorse Hill. If you're a fan of pickles there are no better pickles and what they're serving. They have their own pastry chef and they have a very imaginative selection of desserts. To Alice Waters ( once voted one of the top 10 chefs in the country and owner of the Chez Panisse in Berkeley) I say look out!

I called DeadHorse Hill to get some info on their restaurant. They informed me it was a FULL bar. When my date and I got there, we were told we can only order off of their drink selection, as they had no juice. I'm a die hard COSMO girl. The waitress informed me that they only had fresh oranges, grapefruit and pine apple to mix with certain spirits. I am ALLERGIC to pineapple. My date ordered a Bud Light and he was informed that he had to pick out THEIR spacialty beer. The waitress gave him their LIGHTEST beer and it was HORRIBLE!!!!!! Then our food came. My date had ordered the chops. After he cut ALL of the FAT off the meat, their was hardly any meat left. I ordered the pasta. How can they mess up a pasta dish (I thought) When it came, the pasta was good, however the bolognese sauce was DISGUSTING!! The bill came to $102.00 before tip. The proportions were VERY small. We were both disgusted with this place and still VERY hungry. We went to Bocado restaurant and enjoyed a LOVELY meal. We should have went to Bacado in the fist place. We would NEVER go back to Deadhorse Hill! I give it 2*

Wine reco from server - juancon noir - was not to our taste at all, nor as described. Entrees 2 poached salmon and 2 duck confit were just OK. Nice deserts. Party of 4 - $320 bill including gratuity - overall disappointed.

This is an odd location and a very eclectic menu, but the food is always very good. I didn't even know that they served brunch until I saw availability on OpenTable. The brunch menu is limited and on the expensive side. I do know they use a lot of local ingredients, organic, etc. but $21 for eggs benedict seemed really high. The bloody mary was great. The staff is very friendly and the service was great.

From a taste and distinct flavor perspective, this is quite possibly the best restaurant we've been to in Massachusetts in the last several years. Every dish we ordered was delicious and had incredible flavor. The sweet Maine shrimp dish was one of the best shellfish dishes I've ever had. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly, and perfectly accompanied by the hot/sweet sauce. Don't pass up the mustard spaetzle. It has tons of flavor and goes great with any of the IPAs. Finally the pumpkin agnolotti was fantastic: soft pasta pillows of sweet pumpkin in a rich butter sauce with just enough acid. A truly memorable dinner executed with care and attention. Most ingredients seemed to be sourced locally or made on sight. The staff was attentive, professional and friendly from the moment we walked in the door until we left. I can't wait to go back and try several other dishes, as well as the excellent cocktail list.

We dined there on Saturday evening. It was busy but the wait staff as usual was very attentive. Our server Patrick was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items and provided some recommendations. We had the shrimp and oysters as apps, shared a salad and the main course which was the whole branzino. Everything was delicious. The Craft cocktails are well done with house made syrups as additions to the cocktail. They are a little on the pricey side and the size could be larger but that is my only complaint . Good wine selection again pricey. Dessert was delicious their rendition of a butterscotch sundae with house made ice cream and ingredients. We will definitely return as they change up the menu on a weekly basis.

We were there for my birthday - and the service was exceptional. After a proper welcome, we were greeted by the owner of the restaurant at our table side so that he could tell us personally about the sparkling chenin blanc that my fiance pre-ordered. Certainly better than finding it already plunked in an ice bucket. He was warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable - a trait that you could tell inspired the rest of the staff to work accordingly. We opted for the horse feast after opining that we had missed the aged duck breast by a couple days. Then we sat back and allowed the magicians in the kitchen curate a meal that contained elements from the menu but also included things from off the menu. The one warning I will give is that you need to come with an open mind for the horse feast. Elements of Japanese, Mediterranean, and american cuisine are blended in incredible ways but will include ingredients, elements, and preparations you may have never encountered. On the flip side, if you are looking for adventure, you found your soulmate. Also know that the wait staff listens to you, so if you want to guide their selections, just let them know. I wish I had more room to talk about each course but it was so much food and my 2,000 characters are almost spent. The important part is that our entree was pressed duck (Canard à la presse) - and it was amazing. Completely off menu and completely based on my lamentations regarding the duck breast. And it was immaculate. Paired with an apple dashe, a turnip cake, and precisely executed Brussels sprouts. Being able to produce menu items perfectly showed the excellence of their staff but the final dish showed them to be artists rather than chefs. Creative thinkers able to hear wants and desires then bend ingredients to their wills. An experience like no other. Stop reading here and go now. Go before everyone else knows. Go while you can still get a seat. And for God's sake if you have someone special in your life, take them here.

We had a lovely meal at Deadhorse Hill. Homemade butter with crusty bread and oysters on the half shell to start. Maine mussels for me a brisket for my husband were both excellent. Their beer list was very good and although we didn't indulge, their handmade cocktails looked fun!

This place is stupid good. Very unique menu and flavors. Cocktails are amazing- try the Lions tail. All the food exploded with flavor. Our favorite was the brisket. Leave room for dessert, and even if you don't, make yourself get it. Homemade ice cream was out of this world. Also, couldn't beat the service. So attentive and helpful with the menu. Will be going back.

This place has a pleasant atmosphere, excellent servers and a so-so kitchen. Certainly a great deal less food preparation skills than the menu prices and servers might suggest. I think an odd thing happens when you enter a "fine dining" atmosphere with a limited, constantly changing menu, a reputation for great brunch, a fine wine list and polished-talking staff. The assumption is so strong that the food is going to live up to all that sizzle that many people impose quality on the food that is simply not there. This is such a place. It has everything you could ever ask in a sophisticated bistro - except decent food. I sent back a plate and got another equally unacceptable. Other in our group tried to feed me while I waited for the chef to respond, but their duck was no better than by braised beef, drowned in awful beet syrup. Ugh. For this we paid a mere $300 for four people. We'll never go back. Other places serve a great meal for that kind of money, not just a lot of hollow foodie chatter. Obnoxious place.
