    Food was fair at best. Advertised gulf fish wasn't from the Gulf, out of multiple entrees. Besides the cocktails a disappointment all around.

    Went for my 30th birthday dinner. Restaurant was nice and clean! Had good service. Some of the food items I tried weren’t my favorite but I don’t normally eat this kind of food because I’m picky. But the fries were delicious !!! Mashed potatoes were too smoky of a flavor for me. But overall it was a good experience.

    Food was outstanding. Service was outstanding. But the ambiance……. It felt like we had a bright spot light above us. The lighting was extra bright and it just killed the mood.

    This was my first time to Deacon's. I was a little early so the host seated us at the bar which was great, and then took us to our table. The server was wonderful and we followed her guidance on ordering a ribeye, filet, smashed potatoes and collards. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. I will be back!

    A steak house should know how to cook a steak correctly; ours we rare in the middle. Also, there famous cornbread was reheated and cold in the middle.

    We went to celebrate our friends’ 40th birthdays, and the experience could not have been any more amazing. Our server, Abigail, made us feel welcome from the start, and she was very informative and knowledgeable. The cocktails and food were absolutely delicious! And, one of the other waiters working there shared his life experiences with us that made it that much more special. Finally, ended with free birthday desserts for both friends that were absolutely amazing. Would definitely go back!

    Our meal was very good. The sides are outstanding. Can’t go wrong with any choice. Our steaks were room temp at best when we got them..as if they had been setting by the kitchen for a few extra minutes before being brought out to our table. But, not that big of a deal. They tasted great. Highly recommend Deacons.

    I made a reservation for Oct 27th for a private table. I said that I was purposing and they sat us outside, on the balcony, away from everyone. It was an amazing evening to eat outside as well, so perfect choice outside! The service was amazing and the food was cooked to perfection. We asked our waitress for a picture and she helped make a video of the purposal. Management asked to see the ring before we left and congratulated us.. thank you thank you for a wonderful evening! We will be coming back for sure!!

    Dining in the lobby of the building was not great. Felt disconnected from the restaurant & that business wasn’t valued. We used to love it but don’t think we’ll be back due to seating location.

    The ambiance and waiter were very good. However, the food not so good. The 14 oz bone in filet was mostly bone with about five small bites of steak one which was gristle. So very disappointing. One of the worst steaks I have had at a fine dining restaurant. The sides were okay but not served all at the same time with the steak and were warm at best. One before the steak one with and one after we got the steak. The dessert was delicious. Overall not a great food experience.

    I had such a good time here with my fiancée. We highly recommend the Gravity red blend wine and the Walking on Sunshine cocktail was the best I’ve ever had. I am so glad we chose Deacon’s for our date night. 10/10 highly recommend. And thanks to Abby for taking such good care of us

    Service was not good. The kitchen must have been way behind as we had to ask for our food after waiting an hour. We heard other patrons complaining as well. On a positive note, the carrots were amazing!!

    Absolutely loved our experience at New south! I highly recommend the pork chop & bone in ribeye. We also got the cheddar biscuits and fried green tomatoes as starts! The food was amazing and honestly the twist on the pork chop was one of the best in Nashville! I would definitely recommend and will be back!

    Great Location! Service was excellent. Our waitress was gracious and kind. The ambiance has a good vibe. I ordered the Heritage Chicken. It was kinda bland and so was the potatoes and mac and cheese. Needs more seasonings.

    Service was perfect, except that the notes of our reservation were not delivered to the server. Cocktails were excellent. Wine list did not have many selections under $100 but was par for the course for a steak house. Apps were very good. Sides were excellent. Steaks were a huge disappointment. On the pricey side, which is fine, but the filet was only 1” thick and sad looking. Neither of our steaks was well seasoned. The ribeye was extremely tough and took force to cut and chew, had little flavor other than the bitter crunch of a hard flame sear. Can’t rate this restaurant highly since steaks are their focus and they were very disappointing. Too bad, since it was the best service we’ve had in Nashville in a long time.

    Matt was our waiter & did an amazing job, was so friendly & personable. We had the tuna appetizer & shared a porterhouse with fries. All were excellent tasting & perfectly cooked. Deacons South is highly consistent- we've been here quite a few times & will be coming back for sure.

    This is an outstanding steakhouse with fantastic service, but was generally mediocre to poor on the non steak items. My salmon was over cooked; my friend’s eggplant entree was undercooked. The fried green tomatoes and shrimp apps were excellent but side dishes were disappointing (cloyingly sweet carrots, mushrooms were done nicely but had a peculiar vinegary sauce, and bland fingerling potatoes that were oily and slightly overdone.) Our waitress made the experience an enjoyable one but we won’t be back for the food.

    Had the porterhouse, corn bread and mushrooms. All very tasty and well cooked. Their house wine “deacon cab” was really good! It’s not cheap but I recommend this place for sure !
