DBGB is Chef Daniel Boulud's casual restaurant specializing in seasonal Lyonnais-inspired bistro cuisine. Located at CityCenter in the Penn Quarter, DBGB is a short walk to the Convention Center, Verizon Center, and The White House. We serve dinner seven nights a week, lunch Monday to Friday, and brunch on the weekends in a casual yet comfortable setting.

Excellent food and service
Phenomenal soufflé. Wonderful chicken. So comforting.
The food was delicious and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. There was no valet. Service was extremely slow. They kind of pressured us out at the end
Host was not impressive, actually very inflexible when it comes to customer service. But that was 5% of the experince. The food was excellent and the server (according to our check says Null, but sat at the 70 at 3pm.) was excellent in his recommendations of the tuna tartar and about toast.
Brunch was perfect - from the latte to the madeleines! The beignets are not to be missed ( and difficult to share!) We had a variety of lunch and breakfast items and everyone was delighted - lobster roll devoured, yogurt parfait fresh and delicious, and eggs Benedict with smoked salmon rich and satisfying. Have dined there multiple times and although I’m not a typical fan of brunch - would definitely recommend for future diners ! Cheers
Great dinner! We started with the tuna tartare, had the crab spaghettini, burger and scallops - everything tasted very good. Would definitely go back!
Food was very good, but apparently the restaurant reported me as a no show to open table. Two of us got the rockfish, one the lamshank, and the other the duck. Everyone was very happy with their dishes.

This was my second visit to DBGB, it was an excellent experience on both occasions, and I travelled 250+ miles (which should tell you something about the quality of the food and service).

I did the executive lunch which was celery soup, a burger and dessert. All very good. Service was great.
I can’t say enough good things about DBGB. The food is amazing. The dishes are so beautifully presented and taste as good as they look. The service across all positions is attentive and personal. Jason is our usual server and he’s fabulous. He remembers our special requests (e.g. extra hot soup and peppermint tea with dessert). How refreshing to receive such excellent customer service; it keeps me and my friend coming back.
Very exceptional service. The host took our coats and got us seated quickly. My girlfriend and I had the charcuterie board, which was phenomenal. Our waiter, Alexei, gave us a great wine recommendation that paired nicely with our dinners. Our entrees were nothing short of exquisite. The Duck L’Orange was perfectly prepared as was my girlfriend’s Lamb Shank. However, Dessert literally took the cake. The Baked Alaskan was the primary reason we chose this restaurant, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! I would absolutely eat here again and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in DC.
I was a bit underwhelmed by the food--this is, after all, a Boulud restaurant! Ordered the mushroom soup for the first course--it was very thick and rather bland. The steak frites was also a disappointment. Steak was perfectly cooked but over-salted. The fries, however, were perfect and ended up being the best part of the meal. But I expect more from a Boulud restaurant.
The food we ordered was outstanding, particularly the artichokes, and the mushroom bisque and celery root veloute. Despite some confusion when another diner suffered a medical crisis, staff responded calmly and professionally to the crisis.
We really enjoyed the breakfast pastries. The entrees were decent. They got my wife's order wrong but soon remedied it. Service was a little slow to be honest, but it was pretty full restaurant. Prices were probably about $3 to $4 higher than they should be, but it is located right in Center City DC, so you do pay for the location.
I wish the restaurant kept their daily menu when there's an event such as Valentine's Day. This is due to others might not be in favor of the special event menu they had offered. This gave a strict appearance to us as this was our first time in the restaurant. We won't be coming back.

Perfect spot for Valentine's Day! I couldn't imagine a better date spot, the service was delightful and the food was delicious. I can wholeheartedly recommend this spot and will be likely be a semi-regular.
Dinner was fabulous. The food was excellent and the presentation as well. The cocktails were great and creative. Overall, it was a top notch experience (while still being smart casual). I’ll definitely return!
Great Valentine’s Special Menu!
Nice atmosphere and menu. It is an upscale place but definitely not a top restaurant in terms of service and food offerings. It is a perfect place to meet a friend for lunch or dinner
Great options for both carnivores and pescatarians!! We used the in house Sommelier to assist in picking a bottle of wine that we all could enjoy. The honey lemon vinaigrette on the Arugula Salad was delicious and perfectly distributed on the salad. The Braised Lamb Shank was decadent, cut like butter. My friends had the Escargot starter with the Slow-baked Branzino entree and Steak Frites; both quite enjoyed their meals. I quite enjoyed my Grand Marnier Souffle to top of my meal.

Truly exceptional service, an unexpected request for a birthday celebration, when we arrived at the restaurant was received with grace and thoughtfulness and executed perfectly, WOW! Christian, the manager is on the ball *, our meals delectable and service attentive and wonderful. We'll be back for sure on our next trip to DC. Thank you all!!!!
It was my coworker’s birthday so we decided to try them out for lunch. Best French fries I’ve ever eaten! Everyone who worked there was really nice, the service was great, and they brought a pretty slice of birthday cake (for free) to the table. We will go back.

Visited at the right time of the year..... cold enough to enjoy a hearty cassoulet! Excellent meal, accompanied by a really fun cocktail list highlighting the best of the last 5 years!
