Sunday, 3pm reservation. was extremely busy, so being seated took about 30 minutes. Seemed to be understaffed as we had to ask for a waiter/waitress to take our order about 30 minutes after that (the hostess who sat us acted as though she forgot we had ben seated...!?) Eventually, the young man who got us was very nice and accommodating as best he could but service was slooow - which is my biggest complaint. As far as food taste/quality, I think I was hoping for a bit better and others in my party expressed similar sentiments. I had shrimp and grits: portion size on the small side - the wide, shallow bowl only makes it look like a healthy portion - was tasty and smooth but average as compared to other shrimp/grits I've had. The waffle/chicken bites: I wouldn't order again as the fried chicken inside the waffle bits was dry and a bit chewy! The redeeming dish I had was the FRIED GREEN TOMATOES: never had them prepared and served like this and this is now my ALL TIME FAVORITE- a crunchy, flavor-full batter, topped with goat cheese and edible flowers/microgreens mix along with a side of spicy remoulade, that frankly I didn't need but it was great too!!

Not my worst experience, but it was a busy Sunday, so I understand the challenges. My friend’s chicken was undercooked initially, but the staff handled it well and promptly replaced it with a properly cooked piece. Despite the hiccup, the fried chicken here is still some of the best I’ve had—absolutely top-notch. Our server was attentive in spite of the business. A neighborhood favorite.

The pot roast and jalapeño grits never disappoints. Tried the smoked salmon deviled eggs for the first time and they were also delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

10/10 experience at Dawn’s Eatery! Our server was the bomb…attentive, fun, and she made us feel right at home. The smoked salmon deviled eggs were next level, the shrimp & grits hit every flavor note, and the chicken & waffles? Chef’s kiss! The spritz was the perfect touch, and the vibes? Super vibey. Can’t wait to come back!

Food was fantastic. The catfish was fried to perfection and perfectly seasoned. Greens had a hint of spice but very flavorful and i really enjoyed the flavor. Mac and cheese was hitting but it was different from the traditional baked mac an cheese as the consistency was a bit more loose. The fried green tomatoes were also delicious. Overall it was a great experience and plan on coming back to explore more of the menu.
