Easy to make appointments and seating was on time when we arrived at restaurant.
Service was prompt and attentive but not too much. Food was great and the service was on point, timely and not rushed on any of our courses.
Was a special occasion and Daniels offers a special desert for special occasions. the dessert was tasty and enjoyed by both of us.
We will go back
First wine was served above room temp, second wine was out of stock, third wine was fine but not good. Food varies from delicious (scallop app) to strange (over cooked filet with salty sauce). Service was very friendly, but inexperienced. Good views. Typical tourist trap.
Not the first time we have dined at Daniels. This restaurant always delivers! The King crab legs were fresh and delicious, the Wagyu was luscious and the Prime Filet was perfectly cooked. The corn was to die for (I need to get the recipe) and the Lobster mac and cheese was great. Service was perfect! Definitely recommend this restaurant to all!
It has gone downhill and is living on it's location and brand.
I won't return.
Of course the food was good, but fiercely overpriced and not special. There are better restaurants in Ballard.
Excellent service and food every time we have eaten there.
Took a long time for food and espresso
We went there for father's day brunch which turned out to be a great dining experience. The server was very accommodating as we were dealing with young children.
Kitchen very slow on Father’s Day. Took over an hour to receive order. One in our party made a substitution due to food allergy and the upcharge far exceeded value received.
Lively dinner place, pricey but worth it. Staff efficient and friendly. Nice harbor view.
Great atmosphere and staff. Excellent appetizers and good solid food.
Our family or four was there to celebrate 5th grade graduation and father’s day. The lady who delivered our food seemed really annoyed when we asked her to take a family picture before taking the shell off my lobster. She hesitantly took one pic which didn’t turn out. I asked the next person who delivered our table side lobster to take a pic before who took off that shell and again turned out horrible and we weren’t even all in the pic. Left without a memory picture for our occasion, which was pretty ridiculous after spending over $500 (mind you, this is two adults and two kids).
I drove from Portland to celebrate my birthday at Daniel's Broiler. Our party of 4 ordered 2 halibut dinners and the halibut was way overcooked; dry, rubbery, and practically tasteless. The rib eye was over charred, completely black on the outside. Chicken had really good flavor and was not over cooked. NOT what I was expecting. I was very disappointed and we paid a lot of money. I have dined here before an the food was always excellent. Very disappointed in the food. Service was great.
Food and service nothing like das good as we remember
I have dined at Daniel's Broiler in Bellevue and Leschi many times and have always had wonderful service. I would definitely recommend going to one of those locations if you are going to dine at Daniel's and not the Lake Union location. Our service was horrible! The waitress really didn't care about our table because she was going to get her 20% tip that was already added to our bill regardless. We had to ask multiple times for the simplest things and she forgot to have my friend check her steak which is signature at Daniels. Needless to say, if you want crappy service and a waitress who doesn't care, go to this location.
Food was incredible. Absolutely cooked to perfection, and portions were great. Loved the atmosphere; just busy enough to be interesting, but not overwhelming.
We had tasty, fresh Dungeness Crab dishes while watching float planes land on Lake Union. The service was excellent.
Very loud and also very pushy to turn around tables.
We had a great night at Daniel's. One member of our party of 4 had a medium steak when he requested a medium rare. The waiter replaced the steak with a medium rare one but got a little cool after our criticism. In the end, a great meal. We had appetizers, salads, steaks, and sides. No room for dessert. We will return.
We enjoyed our best steak in Seattle here outside of Texas. Loved the view, as well, and the friendly service. Highly recommend.
The location is wonderful. We understand Daniel's desire to compensate their employees, but a mandatory service charge when the service is lousy is not acceptable. Our server never refilled our water glasses once even after I had told him that we would need refills, having come from an outside event. We had to flag down other servers for water. He never checked to see if our food was acceptable after it was served. The Shrimp scampi, ribeye and lamb chops were good but not exceptional. The filet mignon was ordered medium and was rare in parts. I gave our waiter my credit card before the bill arrived with the understanding that we were in a hurry, but it still took a longer than usual time to get the bill and I almost missed my flight. We usually tip 20% or above, perhaps the reason that Daniel's wait staff are not getting reasonable tips is because the service is not up to par or they have gotten lazy (it was not a busy time 9pm) with their policy.
The food here was good. But overpriced like many high end steakhouses. Two things brought down this review. THe salmon special was MP in order to charge a high price for salmon. It was good but not $75 good. The Wagu Filet was $110 - is a piece of Salmon worth $75? Also they have a 20% service charge. No issue - like the overall method - like Europe. But when the service charge includes 20% of the valet cost and the service charge is taxed, I begin to have a problem. Most people tip on the service not the taxes add by the government...
The steak was great. Service was friendly but wasn't as attentive to receive more than a fair rating. I think the management has to find a way to fix service for Schwartz Brothers restaurants as it isn't what it used to be after initiating the automatic 20% included tip. I don't' know if it's staffing levels or motivation but it falls just short of expectations.
We came for my husbands birthday and they brought us a special dessert to share for free at the end of the delicious meal. The meal, steak and garlic mashed potatoes, was amazing. Just tender and delicious - mine was perfectly cooked - my husbands was a little over cooked but still good. Thanks for a great evening!
The service team is amazing. They made us feel special on our anniversary. They gave us a booth with a nice view, congratulated us, and provided a free desert. However, the cook on the meal was off - it was too charred and ruined the cut of meat. It also took FOREVER (they compensated us with free drinks for the wait). I feel that the furnishings are a bit outdated, also. But again, fantastic wait staff. Food and atmosphere not worth the $200 we spent.
Had a very nice experience at Daniel's Broiler. Went for my husbands birthday specifically to experience the last steakhouse we had not visited in Seattle. He LOVED his meal (Ribeye) and said he would definitely go back. Ambience was nice and not too loud. Service was really good, although I did have to wait for a water refill once or twice.
If you are not a steak eater (as I am not), I was not impressed with their menu of "others". Realizing this is a steak house, I was hoping at least something would strike my fancy. Ended up getting a Caesar salad and French Onion soup...both good, but honestly their many appetizers (which I was thinking of possibly getting instead of the soup/salad combo) would be good/better choices for non-steak eaters than the other offerings.
On that note, we did have the Seared Ahi and Charred Octopus. Both very good, but note the octopus only comes with 2 tentacles. Even just one more would have helped justify the price ($20).
Overall, for another special occasion (for my husband), we would come back for sure.
Bread was dry, burger bun was dry. Overall, not impressed with the foods, need to improve
Celebrating our anniversary. Wonderful meal, great service and amazing view. We’ll be back!
They are extremely overpriced and automatically add a 20% gratuity to everyone. We went because we had a gift certificate but they are beyond our price range and we aren't apt to return. While the food was good, we didn't feel it was worth the ridiculous price of it.
Always great food and great service. The view is wonderful of Lake Union and downtown Seattle. The only fly in the ointment was I left a Scottish Driving hat at the table and called the next day to retrieve it and was told no such hat was found. Was very surprised that it would disappear from such an upscale restaurant.
Good waiter. Copper river salmon fantastic. The flight of filet mignon was good but the waygu was overdone which was so disappointing. Lobster mac and cheese good one salt and lemon added. The general manager introduced himself before food cane but never came back to ask how things were. We like Daniels and will be back but suggest you lose half of the skinny, scantily clad teenagers at the hostess stand and teach the rest some manners. They are clearly immature and not trained to be polite and engaging. As we were leaving one was telling a customer asking about the wait that "smart people make reservations ". Unclear what they add to the experience.
Disappointed with my steak. It was over cooked. Salmon was way over priced. Desert was chocolate moulton and it was hard as a rock.
Most delicious bone in ribeye!
Make sure you get a seat by the window overlooking the water. So peaceful!
It was a delicious experience. The food was amazing for a birthday celebration. The cocktail list had an amazing selection of hand crafted cocktails and wine.
Made my Birthday dinner amazing!!!
This was our first time at Daniel’s Broiler. It would usually be out of our price range but we had a very generous gift card to use. The Wagyu Filet Mignon was by far the best steak I have ever had. It was also quiet and we had a great view of Lake Union. I highly recommend a visit if price isn’t an issue.
Very disappointed in the halibut. The fish itself was undercooked so had no texture and the flavors of what was supposed to be heirloom tomatoes and portobello mushrooms were confusing. No acidity to the dish left it flavorless and flat. Way too expensive for the quality.
Savannah, our waitress, was absolutely wonderful. It wasn’t too crowded for a late brunch and when she found out that I had a food sensitivity to what I wanted to order, she asked the kitchen staff to make a special order just for me. I never expect a restaurant to make that kind of accommodation so when she offered to ask and then the kitchen agreed, I was floored! And to top it off everything was AMAZING! Will definitely be coming back if we’re in the area again!
Good food and excellent customer service everyone was very respectful and professional looking forward to coming back
Awesome, my husband and I had a really great time with my cousin and her husband. After brunch we walked around the docks looking at the boats and yachts. we also visited the wooden boat museum and gift shop. Will definitely do it again soon.
