Sit back and take in the many decorative nuances that make Dakota's still one of the most romantic spots in Dallas. Outside the restaurant, the multi-level waterfall, draping foliage and black granite patio bar make dining outdoors a delight. Inside the restaurant, the New Orleans lamps and imported marble floors neatly package the classic theme.

service was not at all what was expected of a fine dining steakhouse, especially after relaying that it was my husband's birthday. One of our drinks never showed up and we rarely saw our waitress or anyone come by to check on us. Didn't even stick around for free dessert because the experience was soured. Beyond the service, I didn't feel the steak was anything to write home about. In fact, I ended up reading reviews afterwards warning not to order the ribeye because it's so chewy -- we can now attest to this.
Our server Andrew couldn't have been better. He let us sit and enjoy our night as long as we wanted with absolutely no rush. He was so well timed and kept our wines topped off, recommended wonderful suggestions and was present just the right amount of time. Couldn't have had better service! The food was great and my filet was perfectly medium rare. Very pleased.
A lovely dinner, great service good food!
Hard to pick a restaurant in Dallas with so many selection but Dakota's Steakhouse is a great choice. Great talking point during dinner that when you arrive you get into an elevator outside to get to the restaurant. Good food, good service and the gentleman playing the piano was amazing. Played for 3 hours straight. . . maybe even longer but we left after 3 hours. Well worth going to.
Thank you for the private table. Much appreciated & productive.
Amazing food and outstanding service. The general manager, Jamie, even stopped by to introduce himself and ask how everything was. Bradley, the bartender, was on point as well. Highly recommend this place!
I would’ve enjoyed the meal a lot more than what I reviewed it, however, there were setbacks. I am vegetarian and ordered the macaroni and cheese and a baked potato. I got my meal and it was lobster macaroni and cheese and there were pieces of plastic in my potato. The waiter seemed upset that all
I wanted was side dishes instead of a meal. He took the lobster Mac and cheese off of our bill to try and make the situation right but I was still hungry. I left it alone because I did not want to cause a fuss. There were some high points though. The creme brûlée was amazing and my boyfriend enjoyed his salmon. The ambience was perfect for our evening.
Good steak prompt service. Drinks were good prices reasonable.Great valet for car.
Great steaks and great service.
I have been to Dakota’s before with my wife and it was fantastic. This time it was not good. Our table of 6 ordered 3 porterhouse steaks to split between each couple. The chef did not like the way they “looked”. So we ordered strips and filets individually instead. The steaks came out extremely rare instead of medium rare and they gave the wrong cut of steak to the wrong people at the table. They also did not bring nearly enough steak for what we ordered. We all got about 4 small pieces. A porterhouse was supposed to be 36 oz/couple. I wouldn’t be surprised if each couple didn’t even get 16oz of steak total. They did give us dessert but we will not be back for a while. It is too expensive of a restaurant to have mistakes like that. We were also 1 of only about 5 tables in the entire restaurant at the time of us ordering.
Great food. Waited quite long. Lack luster service.
This was my second time going to Dakota’s. Our waiter Doug was AMAZING! He new the menu very well. The lamb chops were AMAZING as well. I also ordered Brussels sprouts and lobster Mac and cheese. The lobster Mac and cheese was dry but the Brussels sprouts were nice and sweet. I would definitely recommend Dakota’s!!
Great place to eat. Awesome atmosphere and service.
Little noisy but incredible service and wonderful food! Definitely going to be back
Delicious and a hidden gem in downtown Dallas! Loved our waiter and food was delicious
Was a great atmosphere and wonderful service! Not the best steakhouse in terms of food but the meal was still good! The ambience is what makes this place! Would love to go when the weather is nice and sit on the patio.
Great food and great atmosphere, will certainly be back.
What a great meal and time!!! One of my favorite steakhouses in Dallas in the top 5 for sure.
It was cool being underground, kind of like a speakeasy....we both loved it!!! Thanks for a truly memorable evening!
The food was good, lunch special fair price and good portions but our waiter did not provide good service. It took a very long time to get our food, like he did not put the order in timely and everyone around us got their food. I complained about the length of time it took to get our food and all waiter said is he got a lot of orders at one time and the back got backed up.Then it took a long time to get our ticket. I had to call the waiter over to get our ticket and then to take our cards at the same time.
Great private space. Food was good though my London broil got cold before I could finish it.
I just want to say that Dakota's really outdid themselves. I don't usually write reviews but this place is more than deserving of it. Andrew our server was impeccable. From our appetizers to our dessert - which he recommended, were amazing; Everything came out on time and drinks were perfect. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back for another date night. Thank you so so so so much!
We returned to the spot of our first formal date after 5 years and being married for 3 years. As before the experience was simply outstanding!
Took my wife their for her birthday. The service and food was exceptional. The love piano and chatting guests created a great lively environment.
Nice place, kind of loud if you are looking for a quiet meal, don't go here. Good food, servers have to yell so that you can hear them. No prime rib.
Delicious meal in a beautiful setting. Wonderful experience.
Restaurant was very nice and elegant. Perfect for any date night! Food was amazing as well, and server was attentive. Definitely will be going back soon.
The restaurant was lovely. However, both our meals were over cooked. The Mac & cheese was not to exciting either. On a bright side the cocktail list was extensive and the wine list had a number of options.
Yuh boi love it homie steak good apps good and it was all good
Excellent service Saturday night at 7pm. I think her name was Antonia, very polite and conversational. The 10oz filet was a bit fattier than I prefer for a filet mignon.
Best steak in Dallas! Great service and atmosphere!
A little louder than usual - but it was Valentine's weekend - but the food was superb !! Doing the family and had a great time !!
Food = amazing. Wait staff = very strong. Hosting staff and valet guy = all kind of dismissive of us. Thus, it started off uneasy, but got a lot better thanks to Efraim and the food quality.
We had a wonderful time, the wait staff was excellent and we loved the fire pit and waterfall.
The food was delicious.
The ambiance, service, and venue were incredible. The food wasn't quite as outstanding as we thought it would be - especially given the price. Overall, it was a nice, romantic, upscale date night venue.
Had an absolutely marvelous time. Food and service was spectacular as always. It was a little noisy, but had a wonderful evening.
Great restaurant!!! Food and music was amazing. Staff was very attentive and hospitable.
You pull up curbside, and are led to wonder where is the restuarant? Only to realize tha an elevator leads you down into a hidden oasis underground. It was absolutely phenomenal the experience my wife and I had. Great food, great service, great ambiance. You will love Dakota's!!
We went here on my birthday while in town from Houston for the weekend. Initially they seated my wife and I next to the bar on the patio where they had a huge tv turned on. Due to how close the table was to the bar I had to face the tv which took away from the ambiance of the patio. We were moved after making the staff aware of the awkward setup. The food was on par with other high end steak houses but the services was lacking. After fishing our main course the plates sat on our table for 15-20 mins before the manager asked if we were done. Then after declining dessert we waited another 15-20 mins to get our check at which time the server presented us with a free birthday dessert. The free dessert was a nice gesture, but at that point we were just ready to leave. Unfortunately Dakotas did not make a lasting impression. If we find ourselves in Dallas in the future we will be trying a different steakhouse.
We went to celebrate hubby's birthday. The food was great and the service was great. We will return.
