Nice atmosphere on the outside patio... loved the small plates
Very pleasant good environment!
Great! Perfect food
Cypriana is consistently 5 star....ambiance, service, attentiveness, and most importantly..their food! Many options.....but love that they offer a dedicated vegan menu....all delicious! And they apparently have dedicated cookware for vegan dishes. The owners are very present and welcoming. Designated Parking spaces across 39th street are a bonus. We don’t live that close, but we make the effort to come here frequently. Love it!
I have mixed feelings about this place overall. I will start by saying that the food was pretty impressive. My group loved just about every we ordered. The standouts were the sesame feta, mushroom flatbread, and the baklava. Cocktails were also pretty good overall.
As far as service goes, there was some scrambling around even though we had reservations. The hostess was arranging for an outdoor seat and after about 10 mins she came back and asked again indicating she hadn't actually looked like she said she would. Our waitress was really good... once they finally determined who that would be. They seemed a bit disorganized and two other servers were attempting to figure out who was responsible for us. The outdoor seating which was pleasant on a nice evening. The waitress gave us honest reviews and direction on what to order, which was much appreciated.
My biggest complaint was the atmosphere upon walking in and through the restaurant to get to our seat. The place is in serious need of an update. Reminds me of an early 90s office building. They've attempted to renovate the main dining room which was okay but not as impressive as the pictures online. There was a bathroom that was closed off and a serious sewage smell coming from it. There was a plastic hook stuck to the middle of a mirror outside of the bathroom, which was strange. The one open bathroom was a mess and the sewage smell permeated in there. The manager was nice but was pandering for positive online reviews as we were leaving. Another male staff was eyeing up my gf and made her feel uncomfortable, especially when he touched her side when she asked how to get to the bathroom.
All in all, I would go back for the food. I just hope they can invest some money into some renovations and keep things a little better organized and professional.
Awesome experience. Vaso really cares for his diners. Thank you!!
The food was exceptional, the service outstanding.
We have been to Cypriana before, but not in about a year. The menu has developed further, and frankly, the food was absolutely delicious! My husband and I had the lamb chops as a main course, and they were tender and yummy and made you want to pick them up and eat off the bone. My sister had salmon, and she raved about it. We had the large salad sampler for the table to start, and the amount of food altogether was perfect. Thanks for a great meal on Mother's Day!
Pleasant, relaxed ambiance, always great service, the food is delicious and as good as any Eastern Mediterranean food I have ever been served, including at restaurants in that region of the world.
We always have a great experience here! The food is delicious, drinks were perfect and great ambiance!
Cypriana is a Baltimore treasure - with delicious food, and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Most nights one or both owners is on site making sure everything is done just right. Love the small plates, love the entrees. Highly recommended!
Great dinner. Our branzini were perfectly cooked and the cocktails were spot on.
First time at Cypriana and we enjoyed the whole experience. The food was fresh and delicious, we will be back.
This is a really casual but upscale restaurant. I wish the cocktails were a few dollars less expensive... but the food is great and very interesting. Loved the Heath bar dessert (even though I detected no heath bar taste in it). The two different types of baklava were amazing. The owner made sure to come and chat with us.. it was delightful.
We hadn’t been to Cypriana in about 10 months so we didn’t remember how the menu worked. Our waitress made an attempt to explain it to us. However she didn’t do a good job. We asked about the size of the large salad and she told us it was plenty big.. it was tiny.. we couldn’t believe it was the large and it was $16! We then order entrees, but they were also very small. She told us about the appetizers but not about how small the entrees were. Needless to say we were all hungry. The only thing that was a generous portion were the donut holes! I never saw such a small portion of my favorite baklava!
Although the food was very tasty we were very disappointed! Not sure we will be back!
One of our favorite go-to places in Baltimore. Excellent, fresh, flavorful food, comprehensive wine list, and great value. So glad to have this nearby.
Cypriana offers something different if one is expecting something "Greek." This is Cyprus-inspired cuisine. The salad sampler is an engaging way to savor a variety of flavors, each one carefully spiced, and accompanied by a puffy pita that comes to the table warm and garnished with olive oil and oregano. The warm hummus is yummy. The grilled seafood is remarkable - octopus, shrimp, and salmon. To top it all, try their jumbo lump crab cakes - gluten free and delectable. Everything is worth trying! Free parking is available just across the street.
We always love coming to this restaurant - it's got a great selection, and we are always pleased with our meal. Make sure to try to pistachio baklava- it's outstanding!
Love this place, especially because they are pretty much gluten free! The food is delicious & I absolutely love the gluten free pita topped with oil & spices!! See you again soon.
Friendly staff, terrific waiter, excellent food, varied menu choices, a bit noisy. Not our first visit and we will be back.
Here's a real neighborhood gem. A friend and I have been here several times, and it doesn't disappoint. On a recent Friday evening, it was very crowded, but service was never compromised. Wine and food arrived promptly and the server stopped by to ask if everything was OK several minutes later. My whole fish was delicious, as were the two sides, served in individual dishes. My companion had a great salmon dish, served with black rice. A good wine list too. Free parking across the street is another reason for me to avoid downtown.
ALWAYS A WONDERFUL MEAL AND LEAVE HAPPY AFTER GREAT SERVICE AND GOOD KARMA. LOVE THIS RESTAURANT EACH AND EVERY TIME1
Loved the small plates for the table to share giving us the opportunity to taste many flavors and dishes.
We sat outside but it was on a windy day, which they said we could move inside but halfway through dinner isn't ideal. Good food, we got all the new things we haven't tried before and was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely like to try things with sides I would prefer, salmon was amazing but didn't love the sides. Also, the specials menu didn't have prices and that turned me off from ordering off the menu. Would like to come back for a happy hour.
Fantastic food, however the service was a bit slow. It took forever to get my bill and I was charged an incorrect amount. I nevertheless, love the food and spirit here.
Very good food. Great addition to the Hopkins area
Excellent food and service. Loved everything. Mushroom soup was outstanding. We had some small plates and loved the cheese with sesame seeds, meat balls, and the Dorado (similar to Branzino) was great. Chef Maria is amazing. The noise level was too high for my taste, but the owner, who is very personable, said that it will be taken care of soon. I will certainly be back. Maria suggested that I try at the next visit, the meat stuffed grape leaves and the lamb shank.. the baklava was yummee.
Fantastic food - great value and even better service! Can’t wait to go back!
The waitor was very attentive. Food arrived promptly and was good. The website didn't do a good job of explaining the entrees were small plates only. We felt it was a bit of a bait and switch in that regard because it was more expensive than anticipated. But overall, was an enjoyable experience.
Very pleasant evening. Especially enjoyed visiting with the owner. We’ll definitely make it a regular dining experience.
Always a pleasure to dine at Cypriana. Good menu, well executed in pleasant surroundings. Wait staff competent, attentive, and concerned to give good service.
The host was incredibly warm and helpful. The meal was authentic and extremely savory!
Have really enjoyed the food and service each time we dine here! Courteous service and expertly prepared food, not too expensively priced. Really appreciate reserves off-street parking also!
Consistently delicious, enjoyable, well paced, well presented, friendly, high quality Mediterranean food!
A little loud but otherwise fantastic. Food is great but with appetizers and 1 drink a person it can be a bit pricey.
I would recommend with the proviso that portions are very small for the price. The place, the food, the gracious owner are all lovely, but not good value for what customer pays.
Everything was delicious! We (group of 3) ordered a variety of dishes and shared everything. Will be back!
We went there for our anniversary. Unfortunately from the start things did not go well. Waiter asked us if ready to order instead of asking us if we would like to start with drinks. We ordered the drinks and then we ordered appetizers. Waiter brought a glass of wine but not my draft beer. My wife waited to drink her wine when I received my beer. Unfortunately the waiter did not bring it and instead brought the appetizers. I asked where the beer was and he apologized and said the bar was backed up. I told him that was unacceptable and there was no reason a draft beer should not have come out 20 min earlier with the wine.
The mushroom soup appetizer came out luke warm and stuffed grape leaves was so overpowered by the lemon that I could not taste the meat blend. The waiter took back the soup and replaced it with hot soup.
We ordered entrees which curiously took a lot longer to prepare than we expected. We watched numerous customers who had come in after us leave before we received our entrees. The beef tenderloin kebab was tender and the fried had just enough lemon to be creative. The grilled octopus was also good and again had just enough lemon to be flavorful. We thought the tabouli was very good and probably my favorite part of the entire meal.
Perhaps the waiter was inexperienced but I expected more from a supposedly upscale restaurant that crafts its food based on the chefs passion
Our food was wonderful and our servcer Phil was excellent! Thank you, Hopie
Cipriana was a rare find. The food is great, fresh and delicious ingredients. We had pork belly and octopus which both were delicious. We are originally from the Mediterranean and familiar with the food. However, can’t stress enough about the food! Wwe will definitely return and highly recommend without any hesitation!
