   I ordered two steaks, one well done with peppercorn sauce and one medium rare with mushroom sauce. The steaks came out the wrong way around and had to be re-cooked. However, then both steaks were well done. I did not bother in sending it back again. For $96 for two steaks, I would of expected something a bit better. And having to get up to order at the bar, was sad.

   Not what we expected for the prices charged. It’s a bit like an RSL with no table service. My chicken curry was excellent but family were disappointed with pizzas which were strangely loaded with cherry tomatoes. Would not rush back.

   Great value bistro in the Hunter Valley, beautiful grounds and excellent accomodating staff for a dinner of 14 at the last minute.

   Had a lovely Christmas dinner in the bistro. Our 2 year old son was well looked after with a colouring book and the selection for him was great. Food was lovely, service was really friendly. Overall a wonderful Christmas experience!

   You have the option to sit inside or outside over looking the lake and golf course. We had a group of 10 there wasn’t any table service so had to order food and drinks at the bar and it was very easy and quick and when the food arrived wow it was fantastic everyone was very pleased.

   I had the Thai vegetable curry, which was very tasty. The restaurant wasn't very busy so although we'd made a booking we were pretty much free to sit where we wanted. No orders were taken in the bistro so you had to go to the bar to place your food order and get drinks. Good value, tasty meal in a "normal" bistro-type setting,

   We wanted good food, a nice view and a quiet space to enjoy it in and we got it all at the Cypress Lakes Bistro and Bar. We ate early, the staff were attentive and it was a really pleasant experience. We even saw a rainbow!

    Great food, pity one of us had to wait 20 minutes longer for main course because that one was forgotten.
