Seems like the prices increase each time we go there.
It is very quiet and the food is very good.
Went for a 1st date and loved it. Staff was attentive and food was excellent. Highly recommended
They were nice enough, but felt like they were missing wait staff. Service was so slow, we actually didn't even get to dessert because we were so ready to go.
Food was pretty average, beet salad and canelop with prescuito both had so much lettuce that you couldn't find the core ingredients. The bolgnese pasta had NO meat...
No vibe at all.
Paella was amazing. I don't usually buy wine with dinner but I thought $28 for a glass of wine was outrageous. The beet salad was fair.
Amazing authentic Italian food! Must try the grilled octopus appetizer.
The food here is very good but the prices are not commensurate with the neighborhood and the service. First courses are excessively expensive: $17 to $20 or more. The extensive wine list is also overpriced even by San Francisco standards. One should not have to pay $17 or more for an avererage size glass of non-premium wine. On Friday night the place was out of two of the most popular Italian reds. The young man who served us was amateurish and the bussing was neither prompt nor consistent. It appears that no experienced restauranteur manages the floor. If you care about value when you dine out, think twice before committing $150 or more here for two courses with wine.
Some of the best Italian food we've had and two in our party are old-school Italians. Great flavors and lighter than heavily-cheesed standard Italian. A great find!!
Overall the meal was very good. I was a little disappointed in the beginning I arrived earlier than my reservation time and was promptly seated, yet I had to ask for service after sitting for over 20 minutes. Other parties were seated around me and received service promptly upon sitting. I will go back and next time will not wait 20 minutes to ask for service.
Unfortunately not a good dining experience. I’ve never written a public bad review, but thought I’d share. We came here before a concert, but made a 5:15 reservation so that we would have ample time. The service was terrible. I ordered a shrimp pasta dish which was good, but the runner set it in front of me and left, not offering grated cheese, another drink, or anything. The waiter never came to check on us and I had to flag someone down to ask for grated parmigiana. My husband ordered lasagna and it tasted like a carton of salt was used to make it. Noodles were scarce, cheese and sauce were in excess. Prices were high for the quality of food and service. We’ll dine somewhere else next time. Very disappointed.
Great attentive service. Great food and wine. Do recommend.?
Pleasant but overpriced for what you get. The prosciutto was not real prosciutto but rather a prosciutto -like ham which was tasty but more cooked and dry instead of silky in texture . The sauteed kale pizza came with fresh arugula instead of kale, again not bad, but not what was ordered..
Most excellent. We are vegan and they created a wonderful salad & vegan paella to die for.
Great food and service, will go again
It was bit on the pricey side but food and service were excellent. I loved the decor of the main dining room.
Great Italian food that is thoughtfully prepared. Lovely ambience and great service.
Very nice date night for me and my significant other. Service was attentive but not overly so. Nice ambiance and the food was really good. Tonight was our first time there but we will be going back.
We loved the restaurant - but they were too pushy about time for no good reason. We ordered, and got our appetizer, and they brought out our entrees when we weren't even half way through our appetizer. They barely even fit on the table due to our appetizer and appetizer plates. This was not appropriate at all. Then we enjoyed our entrees, but felt very rushed, on what was not supposed to be rushed. It was our anniversary and it cost us a lot to higher a babysitter to watch the kids (about what the dinner cost). Our bill was sitting on our table within a hour of when we had first sat down - definitely much to much of a rush - particularly when the restaurant was over half empty - so clearly the table was not needed.
Very nice Italian restaurant, good food, extensive menu, attentive wait staff.
Great hidden place and wonderful service.
They ran out of Grey Goose vodka so that was disappointing but we let it go. What we couldn’t let go of was the fact that we asked for coffee after dinner and they said they were out of coffee. Really?
Beautiful setting inside. Our server Jeremy was attentive and had mellow, unhurried energy. His suggestions were spot on. Food was very good, homemade pasta so fresh. Would definitely go back.
Absolutely the best Italian we've had in years! Zucchini cakes, cheese platter and penne with shrimp, mushrooms, asparagus in a lemon-garlic sauce were amazing! Service was spot on - helpful, friendly, attentive and gave excellent recommendations. Looking forward to our next visit! Thank you!
Really nice place to enjoy dinner with family.
Okay overall. Food good, service was a little slow, price a little high.
Great place to go before Shoreline concerts! Fastastico!
Great food and service. Our waiter went above and beyond to make us happy, including helping us switch to an outside table when it got noisy indoors. The food was excellent, and the seafood was particularly well prepared.
We were looking for an early dinner and Cucina Venti was fine. The bread is excellent. The wines by the glass are good but very expensive for what they are offering. We started with the prosciutto and melon which was very nice. My husband had the bolognese but it was very disappointing. It had very little meat (ground beef is the usual) and tasted mostly of tomato paste. I had a pasta with chicken and it was enjoyable but nothing special. We did not stay for dessert. The patio is very pleasant on a lovely evening.
We have been to CV many times over the years, primarily for its convenient location near my job. It is a reliable choice in an area devoid of much in the way of dining options. Our last visit was haphazard. Waiter seemed distracted and tentative. My Manhattan arrived in a half empty glass with no cherry garnish. Prices appeared slightly higher. Food was usual quality. We sat outside by choice on a warm evening after a very hot day and had to ask two people to get our water glasses refilled. We will likely return because of the location but we have noticed CV’s performance declining.
Neither my friend nor I knew Cucina Ventri was even there. What a find and what a gem! We loved it and will be back! I will bring others. Our server, Ismael, was fantastic!! Friendly, enthusiastic, helpful, just great in the service he provided to us. So glad to have found you.
Perfect place for dinner prior to Shoreline concert. Classic Italian ambiance.
Went here before a concert at The Shoreline. It was a great choice. We had the Mediterranean sea bass and the scallops. Both were great, as was the mango salad. Also, loved the red sangria. The only thing we didn’t love was the cappacino. It was a little watery. Overall, though, it was a great choice! Well done!
Usually I have given Venti kudos for good meals and happy that it is located near to our home . However this visit was a miss with regard to the food .... asking for a filleted branzino and out came a whole fish which we sent back for a filet which we initially had ordered . What came back was the exact whole branzino with a poor kitchen try to filet the bones out which was impossible ... so my guest just stopped eating the fish , tired of pulling fish bones out of his mouth . My order of penne Francesca was a bit too oily but I did not mind and ate most of it .... however in the middle of the night I had a terrible stomach ache , nausea and stayed in the bathroom for at least an hour ....
Gladly no one else fell sick , so that was a blessing .
I will say that our waiter was quite nice and very accommodating to our needs . The manager did come to our table and was very nice , apologetic, and even comped our appetizer as a kind gesture.
Am hoping that this evening was an isolated incident and I am not averse to giving the restaurant another try in the future !
Outdoor seating was cozy. Food and service was excellent! Drinks were a little over priced, but overall it was a great experience. We will be back!
Best Old Fashioned I’ve ever had. Great service. Perfect date night spot. Especially if you’re going to a show at Shoreline.
Seated quickly because our reservation was early before a shoreline event. The pork chops were tender and the sea bass was moist. Excellent ambiance. A definite place for a good meal while on a date before a show.
Food was delicious. I had Paparadelle Bolognese and it was amazing. My husband asked for a special order and the chef kindly prepared it. The most wonderful food. The waitstaff and manager were very kind and accommodating. We live out of town which is too bad because I would love to go here again soon.
Wonderful atmosphere, service, and food quality was awesome. Definitely will come back!
My friend and I were there around 15 minutes early and got to choose our table. I reminded the maitre 'd that since we were out of view, to tell the waiter that we were there. Oops! After 15-20 minutes, I had to go and tell staff that we were more than ready to order! And the waiter who was serving people near us said, "That's not my table"! That wasn't cool! We did get a very fine waiter next and all was well and the drinks and food was great and satisfying.
We found this restaurant by chance when we were on our way to a concert at the Shoreline amphitheater. Unfortunately, we didn't find out until we ordered that the concert had been rescheduled. Our waiter was adorable and sang PitBull songs while he served us. The food was amazing and there is a special waiter who serves hot buns to your table. Everyone was very friendly and engaging. We made a point to come back again on the new date for the concert and had a similar experience of excellent service and outstanding food. The prices are very reasonable for what you get and the decor is lovely. My only complaint (which they cannot do anything about) is that the bathrooms are tucked behind the back wall and accommodate one person so a line forms right by the tables and you can hear everything on the other side of the door. Other than that, I only wish this place was closer to my house because it would be my favourite restaurant but I don't anticipate driving over an hour in the future to get there.
We celebrated a major success. Emily our server was outstanding
