    Overall, food was very good. Au gratin potatoes were very undercooked, almost raw. Server was attentive but standoffish, borderline rude. At first we attributed it to him being overwhelmed but everyone at our table commented on his abruptness even when the restaurant had virtually emptied out.

    Went to CRU to celebrate a 6 month dating anniversary, as noted on reservation. We reviewed the online menu prior to going since there are so many restaurant choices downtown. We arrived at 6pm on a Monday night and we're one of two couples there. The bartender waited on us, let us sit wherever we wanted. Nice. Another gentleman came out to acknowledge our special anniversary. Nice gesture. Went to order the dishes we had already pre-selected and they didn't have any of the dishes we went there for, on the menu. Online menu is different than restaurant in house dining menu. At the point of mentioning this to our waiter, the mood quickly changed and we felt we were an imposition to them rather than a guest at the restaurant. Would not recommend at all. Too many other choices downtown to pay high prices for poor service.

    Birthday brunch with a friend. I enjoyed everything. At first we had the place to ourselves which I personally enjoyed, then more tables got filled up Yet we still had great service. The food was delicious & the bubbly was great. I also love that they serve wine flights.

    Pizza and wine were great. Very disappointed in the Caesar Salad. Croutons very soggy, very little dressing, and the lettuce was wet. I should have sent them both back. Service was outstanding.

    Food is fantastic here. I was a little disappointed that I didn't have more interaction with the staff. My first time there last month, they interacted with me a lot. Very little this time. They were focused on closing up and cleaning.

    Savannah served us and is fun and entertaining with great service. The Mussels are my favorite and the beignets! Charcuterie board was unique and off the chart! Great wines too!

    Loved the Mother’s Day set menu experience! All the options looked so good it was hard to choose- had the goat cheese beignets, the crab cake benidict, and the bluberry cheesecake with Bellinis of course! Probably the best cheesecake ever tasted. All were so good! Thanks to the staff for making our gathering special!

    We had a scheduled reservation for a special occasion and when we arrived the restaurant was closed. When I called the restaurant the manager was very nice but informed me that a server called out and they weren’t able to open. I understand the difficulty in staffing these days but would have appreciated being made aware of the situation. We had to scramble to find another place to eat and was disappointing overall.

    Cool location and nice outdoor seating area. Unfortunately our waiter was an unprecedented disaster. He was angry, rude, and resentful. He threw dishes on the table and eventually spilled water on one in our party and threw her a rag. Another server was apologetic and embarrassed and got the manager who comp’d entire meal. We took it to go, so unsettled by the experience. Worst dining experience I’ve had in 20 years.

    Had to track down my server or another waiter every time we needed something. Kept saying she would bring us waters and couldn’t even remember to do so. Had bussers and food runners so she thought she never needed to come check on anything. Sucked.

    We didn’t have an experience. Our hotel concierge made a reservation for outdoor seating for my wife and I. When we arrived we were told there was no room and could only sit inside despite empty tables on the sidewalk. Told those tables were reserved before us. The manager was called over and was unequally responsive. His only comeback is that the problem is the concierge, not his even though I have the reservation for outdoors on my phone. Why would we do business at this establishment? We left. Lots of other places to get a glass of wine in Austin. Looks like Cru needs better management training responding with empathy to customers.

    I loved Cru! Great wine flights and pizzas — and the goat cheese beignets were to die for! I wish the black truffle was a bit hotter/thicker but it was still delicious. Thanks Cru crew for a great night!

    We loved Cru, and will definitely be back! Great service, great wine (surprisingly affordable), incredible ambiance. Lots of tables in a small restaurant space, but it felt very European with a "cozy but intimate" vibe.

    The bartender on duty was not happy with our later reservation on a Sunday night, even though we were on time. Asked us what we want to drink while we were still sitting down. We said we needed a minute to look at the menu, but then he had disappeared for over 5 minutes. We didn't feel welcomed and decided to leave. It's too bad, we had a good experience our first time there last year. Great space for dinner, especially when they open all the glass doors to the terrace.

    Good place to go pre-show. Food was okay (bruschetta and salad). Wine flights decent. Chocolate fondue a good ending to the meal. Service lacking—felt we were more of a nuisance. We likely won’t return here with other options around.

    We went for Valentines dinner and while reserving our table for valentines we had the choice to select from the normal menu or the pre fixed menu. When we get there we were informed there was no normal menu- only pre fixed. My girlfriend is highly allergic to shellfish so we only had the option to choose the pre fixed menu “with substitutions” which was literally only a bread basket. Fine, it’s packed we will make do. To begin, the lobster bisque was cold and the smallest portion I have even seen. Thirty minutes later we finally get the second course which was the “best” part of the menu. Another thirty minutes go by and we finally get our entrees. The smallest and most overcooked piece of steak I have ever seen as well as the most lack luster “rack of lamb” (it was literally the size of kumquat). And again, another 30 mins go by and we finally get our desert. The crème bru lee was fine, but the molten chocolate cake came out raw. Not barely cooked, not somewhat molten but literal raw batter. The server did nothing besides saying sorry the kitchen is backed up which I understand, but come on now. This is our third time going to this restaurant and most likely our last. I can’t believe we paid for this. I honestly wish I asked for a refund. This was terrible. We went back to validate our parking and as we look around we see there are people with fondue and pizza from the normal menu!! I am not sure if the server didn’t want to deal with that or but that was the nail in the coffin.
