Established in the 16th century, The Crown at Marnhull is a traditional thatched coaching inn located at the heart of the historic village of Marnhull in North Dorset’s stunning Blackmore Vale.

Well behaved four legged friends are welcome in our traditional bar & spacious beer garden. When booking a table online please be sure to book a table in our bar area. Please ensure they are under control at all times & remain on a lead.

We're known for our traditional local ales, delicious wines & classy cocktails. Our menus focus on classic pub grub & tasty specials which change with the seasons. Our produce is sourced from local farms, fishermen, foragers & artisan producers. Think comforting Sunday lunches, small plates in our walled garden, handmade award-winning pies, indulgent desserts & succulent aged West Country steaks.

    We had the carvery and it was really good. I had two meats, and both were tasty and there was plenty of it. I could’ve just had one meat. All the veg was well cooked, and the horseradish sauce was really good. Will return

    A very nice homely public house with plenty of history. Great in all weathers. Open fire on the Winter and a great garden in the Summer. Lots of nooks and cranny’s. Your dogs are welcome too. The food is good and there is a good selection and choice. Nice beers too.

    Lovely warm welcome, for our two dogs too with Mark providing doggy treats on arrival. Delicious food and prompt service.

    Delicious Katsu curry and gammon. Both beautifully presented and waitresses very attentive and efficient. Sticky toffee and rhubarb crumble heavenly. Highly recommend

    We have been to The Crown many times and have always had a great experience. However, last night for the first time the standard of the food fell short of expectations. 2 of our party ordered steaks and asked for 1 to be medium rare and the other to be medium, when the meals arrived both steaks were well done. We mentioned this to the waitress who went to sepak to the kitchen and returned with an offer to re-cook the meals. We declined this request as others were already eating and we didn't want to sit and watch people eat and then eat after others had finished. We were offered free drinks instead and we accepted those. As I said we have lived in the area for over 20 years and have eaten at The Crown many times and the food has always been great. Not sure if it was a new chef or just an off night but hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly.

    Really enjoyable Sunday carvery. Good additional menu choices. Great to see a pub busy with friendly staff and a friendly atmosphere. Very dog friendly.

    Excellent food. My wife had the curry which she said was superb. I wouldn’t normally choose a curry in a pub, but I tasted hers and it was fabulous - authentic and beautifully cooked. I had the Kofta which was equally delicious. Overall a great experience.
