The Crofters Tavern sits on a prime site on the A6 at Cabus, midway between Preston and Lancaster and close to the historic market town of Garstang. Once a truck stop, the pub was built in 1992 and the spacious and busy venue serves traditional home-cooked food seven days a week right through from noon until 9:30pm. It has a traditional feel with lots of dark woods, nooks and crannies and a red and cream colour scheme. The menu and specials board offer plenty of choice including grills, pasta, seafood, pub favourites and sandwiches and wraps. The Crofters is also popular for afternoon tea which is served from 2pm-5pm.

We received a warm welcome and had a very nice meal with friends. The food was good quality and presented good value. The crofters although a little dated is always friendly with decent beer, food and service.

Another pub that just isn’t worth having food at. Looked on line at menu, seemed good choice and the main attraction was full vegan menu , when I asked for the vegan menu I was told it was on the main menu , there were two options,not the full menu advertised online , however two is better than non. All meals arrive and all very underwhelming. Vegan meal boring and bland , same for the other diners , won’t be having food here again.

My first visit in years to this restaurant. Great location right atvthe side of the A6 and not far from Garstang centre. A good selection on the menu and food was hot and tasty. Definitely will return here for lunch.

Met up with friends as a convenient place with both having about a 30 - 40 minute journey, so handily situated not far from the M6. One couple from Morecambe and the other from Leyland. Out of Sea Bass but apparently the Salmon which both ladies had was just as good and done in a similar way, chef went out of his way to make a gluten free sauce for my steak as i am a Coeliac. So they catered well for gluten free with no follow on issues. All 4 meals were complimented. Decor is maybe a tad dated but still OK. The service was excellent and friendly, well done to whoever was on at the time. Will use this venue again to meet up.

lovely place to eat. warm and welcoming. food all lovely except my potato rosti which was inedible as far too greasy from food piled on top but otherwise a lovely night and would recommend to friends.
