   Crispy Bird has been raved about since it first opened. As a fan of the other Patachou restaurants, I thought there was no way it could disappoint. So, when I heard it was closing, I made it a top priority to visit. Unfortunately, my experience was less than stellar. We had wings as an appetizer and they were small and soggy. Although my burger was very good, my husband's chicken breast was extremely dry and wasn't very seasoned (beyond salt and pepper). I also am very concerned for their collard greens side dish, which includes a raw egg (my understanding is that it's cooked ever so slightly, but still, concerning) and beans. The mac and cheese was very good and seasoned great, although we weren't expecting it to come out in two long log portions. Also, the portion didn't seem fair for the cost of the side. Still, the mac and cheese stole the show. This restaurant doesn't necessarily present itself as a soul food restaurant, but the menu supports it. This soul food lover was disappointed. Sad that they're closing their doors, but I'm afraid this restaurant idea was a miss for me.

   Loved it! We met the owner (we didn’t know it at first) but she was lovely and so was the service and food.

   Really disappointed that this place has dropped so far from the wonderful food they used to serve. Probably won’t come back.

   We had a 6:30 reservation on a Friday and were pleasantly surprised at the at the plentiful availability of tables anyway. By the time we left, nearly every table was full with people obviously enjoying their meal and time together. It was our first time in and the food, service, and ambiance certainly didn’t disappoint. We’re looking forward to our next visit already!

   This was our second visit. We took our daughter and her fiancé for a post-holiday meal. They really enjoyed the creativity and selection of organic and local items, as well as the type of menu. Crispy Bird has a lot of unexpected plates for a fairly small place, and our two guests (who live in Brooklyn and have enjoyed spots like Blue Hill and Ivan Ramen in NYC) especially enjoyed the Bone Broth, Grits, and specialty pickled items. But most especially, the CHICKEN was incredible. We had it fried, barbecued, in breast and thigh pieces, and enjoyed it all immensely!

    Very enjoyable dinner. Great food and cocktails. Service was a bit slow. This was our second time dining here, and we will be back.
