About this restaurant

  • Great for brunch
  • Neighborhood gem
  • Great for outdoor dining
Crème de La crepe Redondo Beach opened in 2007 and has been entirely remodeled in 2014 to offer bar seating, where our new wine and draft beer can be enjoyed alongside our combined traditional and new ideas menu. Along with our world famous gluten free Buckwheat batter crepe, the menu also includes such classic French dishes as beef tartar, escargot, and Croque monsieur. You can even enjoy an imported cheese fondue that reflects the owner’s upbringing in the French Alps. Next, take a trip to Italia with pasta, risotto, and paninis before continuing to this side of the Atlantic, where the menu embraces the good old American hamburger, but with a brioche bun. It comes available as a lamb, chicken or crab version, or as the namesake TFT, featuring grass fed beef organic heirloom tomatoes, candied shallots, blue cheese, and smoked Gouda.

Bonne Appetit!

This place is one of very few...maybe 3....quality restaurants in the Redondo village. It is fresh & always good. I've never had a bad meal here & I've been coming here since it opened. Staff is always pleasant & food is fantastic

Food was good and service was quick and friendly. Like another reviewer said they did not check off my reservation just said have a seat. I had the all you can eat mussels Tuesday special, the marine and dijon sauces were good, the white wine sauce had too much tarragon. My wife had the marine crepe which she liked the filling but the crepe itself was chewy and tasteless.

They are NO LONGER USING OPEN TANLE and did not have our booking. They were kind enough to accommodate us on the busiest night of the holiday season down there. However you need to update the app so no one else has this problem again

We should have left when we arrived and the room was full of smoke. They seated us right away but we waited for another 10-15 minutes before they took our drink order and then another 10-15 minutes before they brought our drinks. After 45 minutes, we noticed that people who had been seated much longer than us were complaining about having not received their food or that some people at their table had not received their food. At that point, it was still smoky and we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. NO FOOD :(

The fillet mignon risotto had absolutely no flavor. The poor service was not the fault of the employees, the management did not properly staff the restaurant. We will not be returning.

After over 15 years and multiple occasions, the 2 of us finally hit a "wrong decision, wrong day, wrong restaurant ". Creme Redondo franchise is usually solid particularly on Tues. for all you can eat moules et frittes.in this instance we sat down at around 6 to an almost full Mon night crowd . Red flag. Ordered clam chowder, escargot, trout salad and veal dinner special. Then noticed not one table had any food. All drinks no food. Wait staff , albeit helpful, did not inform us of being down one chef and later equipment problem In kitchen. 25 mins after ordering, clam chowder ( small puréed cup/bowl with minced clams potato carrot and fontina cheese- very good but small - and lukewarm escargot -excess parsley arrived not good. 35 mins later no next course. A few seated tables walked out. We almost did. Limited kitchen output. We had great conversation but no food - no bread offer- no request for additional beverage. Service crippled Finally Asked waiter to bring salad and cancelled special - seemed to be the problem. Server accommodated -trout salad came 3 mins. Brought a small dinner salad for me.Chef sent Veal out -13 mins later. Salad was very good with Trout at room temperature instead of slightly hard and cold on orevious occasions. No manager or lead on sight Now a franchise and run like one. Proceed with caution here if service and customer care are important. Stick with vendome crepe and salad.

I read my menu selection VERY carefully for ingredients, and when served, I was surprised to see House dressing on my salmon salad. I tried to be polite and eat around it but was impossible. So, I ate the salmon and left the salad, which was a shame because it looked really good. Finally, I got the attention of someone who abruptly told me it was house dressing and looked at me like, so what else do you want to know? I said, I wasn't sure of the ingredients and he walked away. So, okay, fine, I was over it. I would take it home anyway and someone at home would probably want it. On the other side of the table, my son hated his crepe, said it wasn't fluffy, was overcooked, a weird shape, and no where near what is served in France. He didn't say anything, just ate it. Later, when I asked for a box for the full uneaten salad, the same guy said, well, do you want me to make you another one without dressing? Uh, yes, that would have been nice 15 minutes ago so I said, yes, of course, I would appreciate that. So, I took the new salad home and thoroughly enjoyed it later that evening. It would have been a complete waste of money if he didn't fix it or if no one at home wanted it. The personnel at this place seem to have lost that accommodating, friendly customer service tone. It seemed very weird, like they couldn't wait for you to order, eat and leave. I know people who adore this place. Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back unless someone had their heart set on going there. Maybe round 2 would be better. Maybe it was just a bad day, but wasn't a very welcoming feeling.

Went for lunch on Friday. The breakfast and lunch items have many French items including delicious crêpes, one which I opted for and my friend had eggs Benedict made perfectly and served with the most delicious potatoes gratin. The hollandaise sauce on the Benedict was the best I've tasted- light, thin and flavorful. The wine list was a bit wanting but the Pinot Noir was a nice wine as was the one offering of Pinot Grigio. Service highly attentive and with a smile. Without a doubt a true find. Love the ambiance too. Very bistroish with 2/3 inside and 1/3 outside dining spilling into the sidewalk in the quaint Redondo area on Catalina St.
