Excellent dinner, especially loved the carrots and the chicken confit dish, it maybe the best chicken I ever had!!!!
This restaurant deserves the great reviews it gets. This was my 5th time here and if it wasn't so hard to get reservations I would be there more often. I had the pea soup, amazing and the swordfish even more amazing. Most and wonderful and it has this delicious corn sauce under it. I'm always to full to have the deserts but from what i under stand they are also amazing. I always try one of the signature cocktails and have never been disappointed.
We love this excellent restaurant! The 4 stars above should be 4 and 1/2 and are noted primarily because it was a very noisy room at 9pm-ish hour, as we had a late reservation. We were treated to a perfect birthday dinner for our guest of honor, and we much appreciated conversation with resident wine specialist! I hope the bakery chef will have made sugar-cream pie, the next time we go! But, her angel-food cake was absolutely perfect for our occasion!
Chef Crawford delivers fabulous food and flavor combinations time and time again.
Truly outstanding gourmet experience created by talented chef. A cut above all else in Raleigh. Next time I will call to get table not bar seating. Bar seats are too hard for seniors! Really good food. My daughter just moved to Raleigh from San Francisco and this is our only restaurant that can compete with what she grew accustomed to there. Tres sophisticated!
Food was so flavorful had the beef for my meal and pea and asparagus soup for my appetizer. Both were amazing!
The food is very good. The service is excellent. Great location.
As vegetarian/pescatarians for 35 years, we had the BEST vegetarian entree EVER at Crawford and Son, the fish entree was fabulous - as was the scallops crudo dish. Unfortunately, we don't live in Raleigh - otherwise C&S would be on our must-go list!
Outstanding. I can't wait to return. Excellent service. Food was creative, so fresh and so delicious. Highly recommend.
3 year anniversary
The service is awesome. the food is unusual, with unexpected flavors and delicious!
My new favorite restaurant! Everything on the menu is amazing.
Best restaurant located in Raleigh!
This may be one of my favorite eats in the area. Menu is small and paired with the seasons.
Price point seems high but portion are large enough for sharing which makes for a five star affordable meal. We had the beet and strawberry salad, olive oil poached sea bass, and mushroom bread pudding. Each dish was like a painting on a plate and full of well-balanced flavor. Highly recommend!
One of the best dining experiences we have had at a Raleigh restaurant in a long time. Service was excellent and every course was outstanding but the beef tartar was the best I have ever had - anywhere. This place is the real deal...Highly recommend it!
Exceptional Food and Service!
Will definitely return!!
In order to get seating the day I called, we sat at the bar at 5:30 and had a great experience. The staff was great and we talked to the people on both sides of us. That made it really fun.
Our server was amazing. The food was incredible. Thank you for a great evening.
Wonderful and well crafted experience. GET the carrot cake!
My beet-strawberry salad & vegan entre were outstanding. My husband ate the green salad & the poached seabass. Every bite was delu ious. The strawberry drop biscuit dessert was heavenly.
We will return. This chef is On FIRE!!!
He is THE BEST!
We sat at the bar and ate and the bartender, Taylor, was very attentive and very knowledgeable about all the food and drinks!! He made our night very enjoyable. We will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to others.
Scott Crawford has created a great place to spend an evening. Food, cocktails and service couldn’t be better. To combine all three at a high level is unusual and only happens when there is passion from the top down. Masterful and interesting flavors interacting perfectly are the stars.
Wonderful evening! Lovely intimate setting. Knowledgeable and personable staff. Fantastic meal. We each started with appetizers (baby turnip salad and duck croquette). I wanted something light and the sea bass was perfect. Very flavorful. My husband had the chicken confit which was a more hearty choice. Excellent as well. We split carrot cake trifle for dessert - savored every bite. French press Coffee at the end of the evening was so satisfying. And, the wine recommended - a Riesling - paired well with our meal. We’ll be back.
I had the best bowl of soup I have had in my life and I am a senior citizen. Called spring soup, it was beautiful to look at as well as having outstanding taste. I have food intolerances and called ahead of time to see that the restaurant could accommodate me and they assured me they could. When I got there, there was little choice for me, but they managed an entrée of sea bass which was very good, but nothing special. However, I scored big time for dessert - a panna cotta with blueberries, pistachios, green crushed ice - maybe ice made from juice of a green vegetable or fruit? a crunchy substance called sorrel granita and bits of other delights like small flower blossoms. The waitress suggested I get a bit of each of the major components in each bite. Each course took quite a while to come out of the kitchen and when it arrived, we could see why. It had individual attention. The service was quite good. The restaurant itself is fairly long and narrow and much too noisy for the over 50 crowd. The patrons were of mixed adult ages and the restaurant was full on a Tuesday evening, both early and late. The picture is of the soup and shaved turnips.
Crawford and son was awesome! Our food and service was fabulous! The vegetarian options were delicious! And the carrot cake trifle was out of this world! The service was attentive, friendly, and consistent. We will be back and we highly recommend!
Great food and service. Loved the quiet, intimate atmosphere. The food was lovely!
The rolls were amazing! Service was great.
Fantastic. Our waitress was so knowledgeable. Everything she suggested was spot on. Cocktails were awesome. Definitely will be back.
Very modern and elegant spot with great service and great food. Our server, Katie, was very nice and made great suggestions. The chicken confit with risotto was the best chicken I’ve ever had and the beef short rib was amazing too.
We had a great meal and the service was fantastic. We definitely will return.
Excellent food and service. Perfect place to catch up with old friends.
Crawford and Son did an excellent job of accommodating my request to not be in the center of the restaurant and even brought a glass of champagne for my wife and I as we were made to wait 45 mins past our reservation time. From there the service remained exquisite and the food was excellent as always. Would highly recommend the beef tartare, chicken confit and mushroom bread pudding if they are on the menu.
We ate at the bar like we usually do and our bartender's were fantastic. Great Old Fashion and Wine recommendations. The service was superb!
Truly wonderful dishes with unique presentations. The food is expensive but worth it. Poor acoustics makes the space very loud, and difficult for intimate conversation. Service was wonderful. We will return.
Great food. Desserts were worth saving room. A bit loud, but it is casual.
Crawford & Son was such an amazing experience. The food is both BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS! The staff were everything you’d want and the decor was on point. Make a reservation and thank me later. The Spring soup (peas, asparagus, parmesan) was so flavourful even though it was simple. The presentation was stunning. Spring Vegetables (Ricotta gnudi, vegetable nage, pistachios, herbs) the flavours of that dish were incredible. I loved every bite. Strawberry drop biscuit (rose tea, white chocolate , strawberry ice cream) this dessert was so yummy. Took strawberry shortcake and made it edgy and bold. I LOVED the naughty bathroom wallpaper. We will def have to return again... but if you opened a Charlotte location I wouldn’t be mad.
Ridiculously flavored. Wanted to eat more, but was just too full. Was ready for my wafer-thin mint. Send everyone you know here.
One of the best restaurants in Raleigh. The presentation of the food blew us away.... and it was even more delicious than it looked.
Food was amazing. Service top notch, highly recommend!
