Great place a hidden gem
I wish I didn’t have to say this, but our experience here was a huge disappointment. Cravings used to be a reliable favorite! I can’t really say one good thing about the dinner tonight that I arranged with my parents who came in from St.Louis and wanted to treat us to a nice dinner. First, it was a cold night and the restaurant inside was not much warmer. We moved tables to get away from the window which didn’t help. We ate with jackets on and my feet were freezing. They removed their “fan favorite” white chicken lasagna! The food we did order was not served at the same time so we sat awkwardly for over 5 minutes with 2 of the 4 dishes on the table. The third came maybe 5 minutes later and we felt bad but started eating since everything was getting cold. The 4th dish arrived and was a burnt flatbread pizza! My Mom declined to send it back feeling like it would take even longer to get food. My Dad’s pub burger did not have the advertised toppings on it, was cooked well done instead of medium and was so small, for $17! And why would you up-charge $3 for fries (vs chips) on an already overpriced burger? Dad said it was “not good.” The Carbonara pasta was tasty but the Frutti De Mare lacked much flavor at all besides the mussels and shrimp. Sadly there was no bread to soak up any of the plentiful broth. Apparently you have to order a $5 bread basket here (also ridiculous with a $25 small pasta dish). Water needed filling. Broth spilled on table. Wine was good but overpriced as well. Our server never asked if we wanted a second glass. I surely needed more wine. Sorry, Cravings. Other restaurants have returned full force post pandemic with the same good food and service! If others experience what we did, you will not have returning customers.
We enjoy the quiet ambience of Cravings at lunch time. Gives us plenty of time to catch up. The food is great and so are the drinks.
Great food, but the wine offerings were mediocre.
Great food, excellent service.
It was a great last minute pick. Good cocktails and obviously wine.
It had been too long since I had dined here due to Covid. What a purely delightful experience! I had the scallops small plate - prepared perfectly - so many wonderful flavors on that plate!! And I was craving a salad so also had a small side house salad - their white balsamic vinaigrette is divine and the blueberries & chèvre were lovely unexpected additions. My friend had the caprese salad with grilled shrimp added - she said her meal was delicious in every way. We ordered a wonderful French dry rose and split a piece of their signature orange caramel cake - best dessert ever!!! We were spoiled with excellent service - the owner tends to you with professional skill and charm. So happy to know we can come here very often again!!
Outstanding food and service as usual!
Food, drinks, wine and dessert are incredible!!! Great service as well!
Clean, cozy, accommodating. This is a special spot tucked away - if you don't know to look for it, you may never see it. A go-to destination anytime I am in that area.
I won't be back to this restaurant soon.
I met 2 friends for dinner and we decided we wanted to go somewhere locally owned. We made reservations at 5:45 and left the restaurant at 8:20. Our server started out fine, but at one point I started timing how long we'd gone without even being asked if we needed our waters refilled, plates cleared or if we wanted another glass of wine. ONE whole hour. (actually it was 65 minutes) He could have cared less about our table, and although he was busy, it was even too much to stop and ask. I believe the owner of the place was the on who eventually cleared our dishes and asked if we wanted water.
You'd think you'd be quick to ask 3 friends out to dinner if they wanted another glass of wine to bring up the bill, but that was not the case.
My wife and I really wanted to like Cravings as its very convenient to where we live in Woodbury. There was only one person (manager) working the whole front of the house. Service was very bad, although the manager was very nice. Nice doesn't improve the experience though. Food quality was way below what I would expect for the price. I had a red wine flight which was good. My wife ordered a mixed drink, they didn't have the ingredient's , she ordered a different drink, 20 min later I had to go up to the bar and ask our server/bar tender/bus boy/host for it.
If you can't accommodate your customers don't seat them. And please don't blame Covid or lack of employees. I hate excuses. But I hate bad food and service worse! I felt bad for the Manager but not bad enough to go back, especially at the excessively high price point.
We went for Happy Hour listed on the website, but it is on hold right now due to COVID, which is completely understandable. Server was super attentive! I am not drinking right now, so I had the Grapefruit San Pellegrino, which was an awesome choice instead of plain water. Margherita Flatbread was SO good. It is slightly more expensive overall, but the quality of the food shows. Will definitely be back!
Good food! Everyone finished their plates and I even got to take mine home to happily have leftovers. The Cola ribs were falling apart which I love.
Only 1 in our group had wine because they had a great cocktail menu that overrode the wine list.
Will be back for sure!
Great service, wine selection, and the food was amazing!
Casual atmosphere with great food and wine. The salmon Asian-Italian fusion pappardelle special was delicious. Grilled asparagus also great. Excellent, friendly service. Plenty of space between tables and booths, so it felt safe to dine inside. Would go back again.
Brunch was delicious
Always a nice place for a glass of wine or your favorite beverage and a high quality meal.
Our food was all very good. Service was outstanding. Robert was our server and was efficient, but also personable and informative. The space was welcoming. We loved our time there and will return!
Food is always delicious and our server was very attentive.
Stroganoff made with beef tenderloin was fantastic.
My wife had the beef short ribs which has always been a great choice
Only one person, serving, making drinks, and waiting tables.
Food was excellent, but they could have used another person on hand to help
Went for Valentines day. They were very busy. The staff was friendly. I was expecting a more upscale restaurant, so my expectations were a little higher. We chose the special menu. The food was ok....but did not meet expectations. Would I go again???? I do not know.
I have been to Cravings before and always been happy. On Valentine’s Day something happened with their system and they were very backed up. We had a reservation at seven and did not get seated till 7:50x They apologized many times but I think in that situation a bigger gesture was needed. Perhaps a certain amount off the bill, a free dessert, or a drink, etc. We waited a long time with a reservation and should’ve had some accommodation. My son and I had the tenderloin which was very good and my daughter enjoyed her chicken Cordon Bleu. My kids ran out of water several times and it wasn’t really replaced in a timely manner, if at all. The server was nice but wasn’t around much. It was a very harried kind of night.
no social distance.Ran out of asparagus and 2 of 3 desserts
Overbooked and behind and overpriced for Valentine’s Day
We enjoyed Great service; however; the couple seated at the next table did not
It was Valentine’s Day and was busy
A bit pricey for what a diner received
I will be back and will not sit be a window when it is cold outside
The food was excellent but they didn't respect the social distance, all the tables were full.
Went for dinner as a family to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Wonderful ambiance and food! Love this restaurant!
They had so many people packed into this restaurant, that we were almost elbow to elbow with the table next to us. With covid restrictions in place, they were definitely not all being followed.
Always a great dining experience. Food is excellent and atmosphere is very nice. Noise level is low which makes it easy for conversation with your dining partners.
Excellent service and great food. The staff go the extra mile to make you feel special.
This is a little jewel we don’t remember to get to often enough. The food was very good as it has been in the past, and the wine list is much wider than most places. The portion size and prices are reasonable leaving room for excellent deserts. The service this trip was a bit slow, but clearly they were short staffed as they said. Even with that the service was still good. We will return!
The food here is great, we've never been disappointed. All the servers are wonderful and the owner is always friendly and sociable.
Such a great place for food and drinks. Large gluten free menu and it actually tastes great. I'll be back many times.
My wife and I went there for the first time last night and we definitely will go back. It’s one of the very few restaurants in Woodbury that feels like you’re in the cities. The atmosphere is great but the food is even better. Everything we ordered we loved: mussels (the broth was amazing), scallops, brussel sprout salad, and cravings burger with the hash browns. The wine selection is awesome too. The pricing matches the quality of the food. If you’re looking for a great date night spot without going to the cities, this would be it.
I met a colleague at Cravings for a meeting. The service was excellent, I will be back again.
