The OG CRAFT located in Calgary’s Beltline district. This restaurant set the stage for each location that came after it. Three-season rooftop patio with 360-degree views of Calgary’s skyline and a retractable roof. If it’s over 5 degrees we will be open! We have multiple seating areas including the main dining room and bar, private room, a mezzanine area with games and a rooftop patio.

We made a reservation for 8 people at 2:30pm about 1 week in advance. 2.5 hours prior to our reservation, I received a phone call that other customers had reserved the entire restaurant for 5:00pm so our party would have to be out no later than 4:15pm. While I appreciate this is great for the restaurant, someone should have identified this impact to my reservation long before 2.5 hours prior. If they had reached out with a reasonable amount of notice, we may have had time to find a new venue. This was definitely not a last minute reservation as there was a band setting up in the middle of the afternoon - it typically takes pre-planning to bring in a band. An alcoholic "slush" drink from the front page of the menu was ordered. It arrived as complete liquid in a martini glass. We eventually asked them to take it back and provide something different because it was not at all what was advertised and the server hadn't even noticed. The server came back with the correct drink and said the bartender had made the wrong drink. No accountability. The food was good. Nothing special. My margarita was great.

I’ve generally enjoyed my experiences at Craft, but unfortunately, our recent visits have been disappointing. During our last outing, we encountered several issues with how the service was managed. Despite having a reservation with a request to watch the hockey game, we were seated at a table with a large pillar blocking the screen. When our group asked to move to a nearby table with a better view—which remained empty for the duration of the game—we were met with unnecessary resistance from management. While our server was kind and did her best, the overall experience left us feeling unheard and unwelcome. It’s unfortunate, as we had looked forward to watching the game there. Based on this experience, we won’t be returning to Craft on 10th for future game nights.

I made a 1:45PM Mother's Day brunch reservation. As we were being seated, we were casually informed by the host (i.e., the person seating us) that we had just 30 minutes to eat, as the buffet was going to close at 2:15PM (something that had not been made clear ahead of time). Fortunately, the host was able to negotiate an additional 15 minutes for us (the chef agreed to keep the buffet open until 2:30PM). Still, we felt rushed, and the entire experience was far more stressful for us than it needed to be. The food was decent and the price was good. The service was decent.

Everything was top shelf, food was amazing. I fed a family of 6 for under $200 and that included drinks and tip. Hopefully we are back for Father’s Day.
