Craft & Commerce
Fresno chili relish, toasted sourdough. Major pro tip: ask about making it a bone luge
Onion confit, white cheddar, secret sauce, kosher dill, brioche bun. Suggested Pairing: Maui Bikini Blonde and A Shot of Bourbon - cold pilsner and cheeseburger. Dessert is bourbon. Like the steak, beef char and bourbon go together like peas and carrots. You get a washdown and killer pairing all in the same
Confit Duck Leg "Tacos"
Crispy duck legs, bone marrow, pickled radish, queso fresco, salsa verde, cilantro, corn tortillas. Suggested Pairing: All Things Must Pass - a hint of umeboshi compliments salty confit cure. passionfruit/bright citrus cuts richness of duck and complements the accoutrements. Tequila makes a lot of sense for mexican inspired cuisine
Food was great and the service considering how busy they were was very good as well. We had most things on the limited menu and all were great. Try the short rib. Fabulous
Went in around 1 pm Saturday and they were serving brunch.. limited items in the menu. We got the burger and bone marrow.. both were very good! Drinks were really good although the one I had was full of ice it was something mango. Other than that would definitely come back again to try more items in the menu and drinks.
Easily one of the best Meal I have had in a long time. The drinks were extremely delicious and unique. The only thing was the service seemed a bit disjointed and slow may have been due to the pandemic though. It was our friends birthday which they knew but did not bring out any small dessert!
It was perfect for a 24th birthday dinner then went into the speakeasy for a birthday Fun Rum Drink!!
Great staff, great food and great drinks!
A little busy for a Monday but I suppose that’s the general composition of the area. Stood there for about 7 minutes before the host was able to get us seated. Unfortunately I was facing the sunset and there was no shades to mitigate that. Luckily I had my sunglasses still so I was squinting for about 30 minutes. The food came out quick and was pretty good! We ordered the bone marrow, beef tar tar, chicken dumplings, and the fries. Overall it’s good American style food. Not bad for the price. It would have been a little more comfortable had I not been seated where I was but that’s an issue management should address for guests seated facing west. It was our first time there and were wanting to try something new. Not sure if it will be added to our usual rotation of spots to go back to.
Great food and great service!!
Thank you from Boston Ma!
Great time. We were able to get drinks inside and the staff was very helpful to get us on the list to go into False Idol as well. Great night! Drinks on both sides are top notch!
Lovely vibe, great food, wonderful service 💕
What a fun n place with great food and an interesting menu! Loved it and the Tiki Bar!
Food was amazing! Definitely get the mussels
I got the C&C burger and added bacon which was super thick. Cooked perfectly and very good. My drink was also very good. Service was good but we needed to ask for more napkins and water twice before they were brought to us, they were busy though.
I wish they had a mechanical awning or screen. The late afternoon sun was right in my face the whole time I was dining. I had to hold up a napkin and wear my sunglasses while eating. That didn't affect most of the restaurant just a few tables though.
Pros: Really good starters and snacks. LOVED the buratta salad. Cocktails were lovely.
Cons:!Steak and frites were disappointing.
Seats are very close to other parties.
Wow! So impressed with the excellent food, beverages and staff. I had the peppercorn steak with pomme frites- one of the top two I’ve ever had. My wife had the chicken and dumplings... LOVED IT! Perfect sized portions oh and don’t forget to order the corn bread-BEST EVER! Hint: check in to the False Idol before you are seated to top off your evening at one of the BEST TIKI BARS EVER!
Went here for a girls brunch date. Food was good and the ambiance was inviting and upbeat. We split the Vegan Pancakes and Biscuits Gravy between the three of us. We all would have liked a little more gravy with our dish. Overall really nice restaurant.
This was a total find! A supremely confident resturant with a limited menu that is executed flawlessly. Everyone was perfect, from the drinks, to the food, to the service. A top down amazing spot for breakfast, especially for adults.
The Wagyu tartare with duck pate was a powerful flavor combination and a great appetizer. Drinks were strong and delicious. Steak frites came out warm, not hot, which was a disappointment. Spicy fries were quite good, especially with the steak au poivre gravy. Duck tacos were excellent and my teenage son liked the chicken and dumplings, which is really a stew.
We were on vacation in San Diego and followed recommendation from Goop. Ambience was amazing food was delicious The fried chicken was unbelievable. Two of us could not finish it. Highly recommend
The location, food, creative cocktails make Craft and Commerce a must if you're looking for a fun night out.
Our waitress, the hostess and the Tiki Bar staff were so friendly and helpful too!
We decided to ignore the menu and pairing suggestions and were quite happy with the "all things must pass" cocktail, burger and mussels. Excellent service.
The food is great, the staff is attentive and friendly. Will return in the near future.
Food, cocktails, service everything was spot on!
Went for brunch and had the burger and biscuits and gravy. Everything was great, burger came out too rare to start with but they brought a new one and it was perfect. Drinks were great and bartender John was very friendly. Will definitely be back.
Hostess service was AMAZING, but the servers were extremely slow. Slow at getting our orders, slow at bringing food, slow at asking if we wanted more drinks, slow at cleaning up our plates, etc etc.
Overall food was okay but not great. Drinks were good. Ambiance was great.
Celebrating my moms 50th birthday. We had so much fun! This place is a playground for adults, we starting off with drinks @ False idol for two hours & then dinner! Drinks & Food is everything your looking for I had the burger & fries / Mac & cheese. Go now girl!
We had the whole fried chicken, and it was surprisingly crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. We couldn’t stop eating it! It came with fabulous french fries, and a giant buttermilk biscuit that was melt in your mouth. We also ordered the baratta salad, and that paired perfectly with the chicken dinner. Highly recommend!
Loved it all! Even more surprised with the tiki bar in the back of the restaurant!
The whole experience was awesome. Loved the burrata salad and the duck leg confit tacos.
We booked our table based on the menu provided online. When we arrived however, we were faced with a much more limited menu (less than 10 dishes). Additionally, a member of our party is forced to eat gluten free and there was only one salad that was actually gluten free- every other dish had gluten. It’s shocking that in the city of San Diego, with the number of people who have dietary restrictions, that they would not have thought the menu through. As if this wasn’t frustrating enough- they also had cornbread listed on their menu. Sold out! Very limited options, very disappointing. The food itself that we actually ate was fine but the lack of consideration was really alienating.
This restaurant is a good place to enjoy a meal/drinks with friends...the ambiance of C&C is relaxing and comforting. As for the food, it was okay...the chicken and dumplings dish I ordered was a little disappointing (there was very little chicken, the dumplings lacked seasoning, and the entire dish needed salt/pepper). Overall, C&C is a good place to meet up with friends if you want a place with a casual vibe.
Very good service and good food
Service was great. It was quite loud so conversation was a challenge. You have fo embrace the hunting lodge dead animals thing to be comfortable. If you do, the ambience is amazing. If not it may be a little difficult. Drinks were great. Food was great. We had a great time.
Location is good. We were seated quickly. Server was attentive. Drinks were great. Food? Meh.
Menu was short and succinct. Wasn't inundated with options. Had the mussels they were exquisite. Bone marrow was a bit fatty but overall 5 stars. Service was excellent; our server has the memory of an elephant 🐘 she took the orders of 5 people without writing anything down and didn't skip a beat. Will be back soon
Upon arrival, we were greeted nicely by the host and hostess and helped with a table to accommodate our party of four plus small dog. The seating was probably the best seating we’ve had at any restaurant.
We were looking forward to a couple of popular items on the menu. Unfortunately, the restaurant mentioned that they were already sold out of it. (Bone marrow, biscuits). Since we are visitors to San Diego, we will sadly have to miss the opportunity to try these.
The food that arrived on time tasted excellent! We only wished that they had served the sides/vegetables at the same time as our entrees. The timing of our entrees was strangely abnormal. We each got ours at different times. By the time our last entree was served, the first one was already cold.
Despite our note in OpenTable that we were celebrating a special occasion, it was never mentioned by staff and never addressed that they would like to help us celebrate at their restaurant. Attention like this matters.
Lastly, the attention by staff throughout the meal was lackluster. Despite their kind smiles, they lacked in paying attention to the needs of our table. We felt that we had to chase down someone to inquire about getting us more water, to order another round of cocktails, to notify us when our entrees would be coming out. We loved the ambiance and the food tasted excellent. Their service is nothing to rave about as we’ve had much better service elsewhere. We would not recommend this restaurant because of just this factor.
such an amazing experience with amazing food, drinks, & decore
It was Sunday brunch and the drinks and food were delicious
