I love this place and have been here before and will come again. Very funky vibe which is nice contrast in Del Mar. BUT my advice re food is to order the more adventuresome things on the menu not the more everyday. Fish of the day is always spectacular (last time I had halibut) or the short ribs with cherries. Also the ceviches are very good. Unfortunately I had the seafood / mariscos entree billed as paella but it was very dry and plain. Even my partner ordered the Salados/ filet mignon which was serviceable but plain. The chef can obviously do great things (look at the photos). Try those every time.

Great food at reasonable prices for what you get. Such cute ambiance too! Wonderful to have a unique option available in a great location that doesn't break the bank. Loved the pork belly!

It was a birthday dinner for 2. The server brought a beef dish instead of the seafood dish ordered causing each of us to eat at a different time. The wrong dish wasn't corrected on the check and I had to ask it be corrected. We dined outside as that's where most of the tables are. At the end while we waited for the check a large rat ran between the table and the curb. The guests next to us also noticed. Mistakes happen and the waiter apologized but it was a let down. At least there were no service fees, but recommended tips were calculated for 20, 22 and 25%.

We eat a lot of Peruvian food from all over the world and especially at home. The saltado de carne was very good. The lamb stew (wife’s) was also very good. Both dishes were quite different than the traditional dishes, but were very good. We were there to celebrate 28 de julio, but didn’t run into any peruanos to celebrate with. 😮😎

The food here never disappoints -- excellent flavors prepared perfectly. I had a filet mignon special this time as my entree and it came with (or was prepared with?) chimichurri, but there was hardly any chimichurri to be found. So, it was a light on the chimichurri, but still an outstanding meal. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the appetizers. We always enjoy the house salad and the empanadas. We dined on a Saturday night, so it was pretty busy. Our waiter was lovely and competent, but because it was so busy, he wasn't able to be very attentive -- our waters were not refilled and my husband had an empty beer glass for a while before he was able to get a second drink. Therefore, I removed one star. Also, FYI, there is no parking lot or valet service so make sure you get there in plenty of time to find street parking. I circled around the block once and luckily ended up with a spot in front of the restaurant. Oh, and this was not a big deal to me, but we were there on my birthday (and the reservation indicated that it was for a birthday), but the restaurant never acknowledged it. Not a big deal to me, but I figured that might help someone else if they expect a dessert with a candle like some other restaurants.

A few days ago, I visited this restaurant , and I was very disappointed. The quality of the food was quite poor, which was especially disheartening given that Peruvian cuisine has a very high reputation worldwide. However, the food at this restaurant was rather mediocre. I ordered a ceviche, which was just average and nothing special. The yuca frita were really bad and very basic, served with a very basic huancaina sauce. The octopus was ok. I was particularly looking forward to having a pisco sour, but that was a real disappointment. They explained that they didn’t have a license to sell alcohol at that location, so they offered me something that was anything but a pisco sour. It tasted terrible and was quite embarrassing, especially considering that many people from outside are coming to try Peruvian food. The overall quality was very basic. However, the service was outstanding. The person who served me was very friendly and charismatic. Unfortunately, the overall experience at the restaurant was nothing special.
