Great! Everything was just right, food, ambience, noise level
Love, love, love Cove Hollow Tavern! Great drinks and food. Wait staff is very friendly, although as the high season just ended they were training new staff and service was a little slow. Great bar seating and TV for sporting events, nice semi-private booths for date night, and ample seating for groups both indoors and outside (with heaters). This was our second time here and we will be back!
Nice ambiance. Good menu w/ a few good choices. We had the ribs and the bass which were very good. Nice dessert too.
Great space, good vibes. I thought it was quite pricey for portion size. Will be back though!
Good food & service - the ribs, & pleasant outside ambiance on the side of 27.
Everything we ordered was very good. Would definitely eat here again
Noise level unbearable
The food was delicious and the service very attentive. While the prices seemed a tad high, though not for the area, the portions were generous. It was quiet and easy to park, all a plus in this area.
Sadie is the best waitress.
Food and service was excellent
Food was excellent (oysters and fresh bass) and so was the desert (profiterole).
Service was very friendly and not invasive.
Of course, it being the Hamptons, the meal was extremely expensive. But if you know what you’re getting into, it is totally worth it.
A beautiful small restaurant with excellent food, service, and drinks.
I recommending highly!
My family and I recently ate at Cove Hollow in East Hampton. We loved it, just as we love their sister restaurant Vine Street. The "toast" with mozzarella was delicious, salads and shrimp bowls great and entrees, especially the scallops and garganelle with mushrooms excellent! Our server was lovely, very attentive and professional. Would not hesitate to return to the restaurant!
Waiter who came to take our order never came back to table even after we told him we were ready to order. Thankfully we caught a different waitresses attention who was fabulous and took our order but first guy was so rude
Food was off from normal fabulous level - may have just gone to late
Food was excellent though we ate inside as outside was noisy. Our waitress Hilly was great. The arugula salad was fantastic.
Good was just fair. Wedge salad was almost tasteless, steak was tough (@$50), ribs were dry. Only one waiter serving the entire outdoor diners.
Food is eclectic and very good! like the vibe as well. Also great wine list.
Very loud, could not hear the conversation and had to speak loudly for others to hear what I was saying. The salad had brown lettuce, the potions were very small and not worth the price.
Great food and service! Also cocktails were amazing! Love this place!
Very dining experience here is amazing. Had the lobster ceviche and salmon bowl yummy!!
The food was outstanding! As always, the firecracker shrimp did not disappoint. The seared scallops and lobster and shrimp orchiette are also quite tasty. As with most restaurants these days, the service was fair at best. Waitress did not know about anything on the menu and forgot several of our plates. All in all though, I would still recommend Cove Hollow. It's one of our favorites.
Our first time at Cove Hollow after years of hearing about it …we are regulars at sister restaurant Vine Street Cafe. The food is good and a nice crew ..
Suggest skipping the hunks of bread described as “toast” on the menu with various spreads . Bowls are a good pick and the lobster and shrimp pasta is a standout . Staff is very nice and welcoming - Service was slow but that seems to be par for the course at Hamptons restaurants in the post-pandemic opening phase with staff who are undertrained and overwhelmed .
Most disappointing meal we have ever had at cove tavern ; limited menu and food mediocre :(
We have always enjoyed our times here
The description on the menu for my lamb burger entree did not resemble what was served. The ribs were ineatable. And when a request was made to have the head removed from the branzino we were told that they could not do that but would bring us an extra dish so we could do that ourself!
Our waitress was delightful - she was the highlight of the meal!
Server was new and wasn’t trained. Food overpriced.
Despite the disappointing experience we had at Cove Hollow last summer, we decided to try them again this summer, and we were so glad we did!
Management significantly improved all aspects of our dinner—food, service, ambience, and value. We’re so glad to see the original CHT quality back again!
Everything is nice about this restaurant except a deafening noise level. Not even a lot of people and you can't hear people at your own table without a struggle. Unless they were to change something to alleviate the noise, I would never go back there.
Fantastic as usual.
Everything is very fresh with some very interesting offerings.
The service was pretty bad. It was slow and they forgot things. I ordered the toast to start. They forgot it and then burned it. I ordered a Kettle One cosmo martini. I was served something that tasted like juice, no alcohol. 3 people are our table tasted it and agreed there was no booze it in. When I sent it back, the bartender brought the cocktail back to our table on a tray and told me it was prepared correctly. He said they make their cosmos with Absolut Orange. This drink isn’t even on the menu and I ordered a Kettle One martini so it doesn’t even matter. I’ve never had a bartender come out to a dining table to bring a returned drink back again and tell me I’m wrong about what I asked for. It was wild. We overheard the table next to us complaining about something too.
There was a mixup with my daughters order. The ribs were very dry and unappetizing.
The only problem with this place is the food, but it's a major problem. They make a point of saying the bbq ribs are cooked "low and slow," but mine last night were dry as a bone. My husband didn't like his chicken, and his salad was just okay. Also: the menu hasn't changed much in the 3 years we've been living out here. I think after last night's meal, we won't be back. It's a real shame, because the location is convenient, the room itself is really lovely and cozy, and the service is always delightful. But at those prices, there is just no excuse for consistently mediocre (or worse) food. I hope they change things up in the kitchen.
Food was best ever. I love the outside seating! I look forward to going back.
Lovely meal. Lovely gal at desk. We will be back -happily!
We love this restaurant, but last night it was not at its best. We did not have a waitress for the majority of the meal, despite asking for one. A lovely woman came over to help us- she was also servicing the other tables in the room. Our appetizers came out 50 minutes into the meal, and the main courses 40 minutes after that. I will always go back to this place, but last night wasn’t my favorite experience there.
Excellent food and service. Went here for Father's Day and it was a hit!
Outstanding staff and great food. This place has become our favorite it town
