Always great experience with food and service
Have come for years but this was the first disappointing meal there. Grilled octopus was burnt, mystery goat cheese and in general meal was a bit sloppy. Probably just an off night.
Second time there and never disappoints! Delicious food, the drink menu is super diverse, great staff and the after dinner walks at the pier are the best! Totally recommend!
The place felt pretentious in general, common Spanish dishes have been altered unnecessarily. The quality was decent but nothing to write home about it. However the most annoying feature is the the music selection and the volume. Everyone there was having quietly dinner while the music was intense, loud and out of place. When we arrive the place was actually empty and the music was at the level of a bar or a club. Whoever picked Reggeaton as the ambience for a tapas place probably has never put a feet in Spain.
First time here was a great experience - excellent cocktails and craft beers, wonderful tapas and warm, friendly service.
Super friendly and knowledgable staff.
The food was almost like being in Spain.
COQUETA IS LIKE BEING IN SPAIN! NOTHING IS BAD ABOUT IT. MY WIFE AND I HAVE TWICE BEEN TO SPAIN AND ENJOYED IT'S FOOD. COQUETA IS LIKE DINING IN ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS THERE. WE EAT AT COQUETA OFTEN WITH PLEASURE. WE LOVE EATING AT GOOD PLACES
We dined there recently and ever dish was outstanding. We started with the deviled eggs over a pickled potato, mushrooms, octopus, croquetas and paella topped off with their signature sangria. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake which were small bites paired with caramel corn. Highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic date, BD celebration or just hanging with friends.
I like this restaurant and come here often. But the outdoor patio is far from the indoor ambiance. The cheap tables and chairs would benefit from a table cloth or something to make the patio mor inviting and closer to the indoor experience which is great. If you get a table inside, you'll be fine, outside is more cafeteria style...
Fantastic food, great service. We visit every time we come to San Francisco.
Great food & service
Our server never checked on us or asked if we wanted anything else! We ordered paella. The seafood wasn’t fresh and the layer of rice was so thin and slightly burned. It was 4pm and we saw the staff fed hotdogs and French fries. I will not return or recommend this restaurant. I came expecting a wonderful experience from a renowned chefs restaurant. Shame on you Michael!!!
Paella was delicious
Coqueta is really a great spot to eat. Outdoor seating works very well. A couple of things: Surprisingly, we found the outdoor seating to be quite noisy, I guess as a result of traffic, annoying skateboarders and one loud party. Also, we were with another couple and each couple ordered items to share with each other, not between couples. All of the food for one couple arrived before the other couple's. We think this has to do with the restaurant setting up the smaller, cold morsels before the hot and larger ones. So, when ordering, there should be enough small, cold items for all at the table, continuing the balance through the order. I would not order the trumpet mushrooms -- hard to cut and chew, although sauce very good. All in all, food is very good and we had a great time.
Service was great table was in a good location food as always impeccable
Most of the dishes delicious- especially the meatballs and salads- quality of shrimp in the shrimp dish a little disappointing.
Loved our experience here. Came here after our city hall wedding to celebrate with a small group. We had champagne, cocktails, and wine and amazing food. We ordered the meats and cheeses, paella, desserts and a few other items. Overall loved the food and service. Thank you Coqueta team for a memorable day!
Space heaters need to get fixed.
Very small portions. Overall nice presentation and tasty
I could eat their octopus and drink their sangria all day. The service was excellent. Great place to people watch.
We walked out after the appetizers. The prawns were raw and flavorless and the cheese board was uninspiring. Unfortunately, like most Embarcadero restaurants, it was overpriced and poorly executed.
We sat in the outdoors area. The food was amazing.
Fantastic tapas and service by the Bay! Especially recommend the Huevos Rotos. We’ll be back🙂
Beautiful outdoor seating and the most amazing cocktails I’ve ever had.
Unfortunately this time around the service was lacking. Our server didn’t seem like he was interested in what was going on. Understandable during these times, but the food should have made up for it. Unfortunately, the tomahawk steak was cooked over what we asked and was under seasoned. The other accompanying dishes we had were great as usual. Will be back again next time as I hope this was a fluke.
I was very excited to come back here. The service was fine . Attentive amd timely. The food was where they fell very short! We ordered the gem salad , the lamb meatballs, the croquettes amd the seafood paella . Very bland amd odd. Gem salad was particularly strange and flavorless. Will not be returning :(.
Wonderful and such good food, I’m glad I got to show my parents a wonderful spot in San Francisco
Have been there 2 times previously for lunch, and it was outstanding. Today, the restaurant was not busy, and the service was ridiculously slow. Had to send back Martinis, because they were room temperature and not good. The shrimp were fabulous, but everything else was mediocre. Disappointing.
We'll be back. All the Tapa's were outstanding, as was the dessert. The Paella was disappointing. Typically Paella is cooked with the Meats, Vegetables and/or Fish/Shellfish cooked with the Rice. The benefit of this, is all the fluids and flavors of these items mesh with the flavors of the Rice, creating a complex, rich flavor experience. This version cooks the Vegetables, Meats and Shellfish separately, then placed on top of the prepared Rice. Overall the flavor was ok. The Mussels were way overcooked, almost dry. The Shrimp, Chorizo, and Clams were cooked fine. A handful of Peas were tossed on top. Still we'll return, and just stick with the Tapa's which were quite good.
Terrific Spanish food on the San Francisco waterfront. Excellent tapas---patatas bravas, coquetas, albondigas--and very good paella. Superior cocktails. And warm, friendly service.
Celebrated a birthday dinner there last night. Had the sangrias which were wonderful with fresh grapes, very colorful. We ordered the pulpo a la parilla which was excellent! Lamb meatballs which was also great, tasty. The paella mar y montana was very delicious and not salty at all. I had called in and requested to be seated to have a view of the water which was nice. It was a bit windy in the city and the waiter was kind enough to close the plastic encasing halfway behind me. There were a lot of skateboarders right behind us and a bit noisy. Waiters were attentive at first, gave us water, got our drinks order/food/apps order. But after that they never came back to our table to ask if we needed a refresher on our cocktails, or refilled our water (which we needed more of) or if we would like to order any more, or offer the dessert wine. They only came back to pick up the dirty plates. I was hoping to get dessert so they can bring it with birthday candles, but at that point, it was getting late and we had already been done for a while, just waiting to flag a waiter down to get our tab. I had read not so good reviews for the Coqueta in Napa so I opted to come to the city instead because of the better reviews, food and the views. The service here was not exceptional at all. I had noticed that the waiters tended more to the table that had 4 guests at least, even the other couple that was in front of us didn't get as much required service as well. It's too bad, they definitely lack this in the service/waitering area.
Delicious, Great Ambiance and Service
A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Our bill with tip was $200 for 2 people. The good was delicious so I would go back there with 2-300 dollars to spend and just enjoy great tapas.
Food was not good. Service was not good. Would not see waiters for a while. Prices for the tiny portions are ridiculous and the food was not worth it at all.
Great food, great service. Loved it! Would recommend.
Great service, the food was delicious and the hostess was kind enough to switch our reservation to outdoor dining upon arrival. Overall such a great experience and I can’t wait to go back!
Great evening. Food very good and service excellent. Dennis was a great representative as our server.
Had a wonderful time eating at Coqueta! Everyone loved the food and the food was delicious! Everyone is excited to go back soon.
I appreciate the outside seating, but the traffic noise made it a bit difficult to chat.
Everything was terrific, however it was a bit loud and service staff didn’t show up for longer than normal periods of time. Still one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
