COQUETA - San Francisco
What Insiders Are Saying
Tapas galore on the Embarcadero. If you work in the Financial District, you probably want a reservation here.
We always have the BEST service here. Love this spot!
The food was delicious and the service excellent. It would be a great place to bring a group of friends to share plates and get to taste more things. The garlic mushrooms were the best.
Such a nice lunch!
Great waterfront location, food and service always very reliable and delicious!
They have such a great range of choices on the menu and the food is just delicious - every item exceeded expectations. The staff are friendly and thoughtful and the overall ambiance is enjoyable. It's also in a great location, a quick walk up from the Ferry Building. All round great lunch.
Great service and food
Dinner was bad overall. The croqueta crust was very thick and not good. The pulpo wasn’t tasty at all. And the jamón ibérico was cut with a cutting machine, not with a knife to cut ham.
Very expensive for how bad it was. However, service was great.
Let me just say, OMG! Best tapas ever! Will definitely come back.
Amazing Parron drinks and very good appetizers!!
Mouthwatering patata bravas, paella as well as shrimp!
Food was blah
Johnny was amazing !
When your husband turns sixty you want to serve only the best of the best. After a 70k bike ride a 32 ounce rib-eye steak made by the one-and-only Coqueta is the perfect prize. Best food in town. Best service in town, bar none. Every server adds personality, fun and flavor to our every experience. Kudos!
I was really disappointed this last time we visited. The staff was difficult to get to respond, half of our order was never put in and we were given seats in the bar rather than the dining room, where there was plenty of seating. I don't know that we will go back.
pretty bad service. Decent food. Pretty bad service!
Coqueta's one of our favorite places to go in the city. Marco, one of the servers always make our visit a special one! He's wonderful, we love Marco. We love the cocktails & the tapas! Amazing place to spend a date night.
This is our favorite restaurant! Food and service is outstanding!!
Food was more ordinary than previous visits.
Amazing location on the water, beautiful seating both indoors and on the covered outdoor patio, great food. Best for sharing . Recommend going with a group so you can try everything! Servers are very accommodating and make sure you have the right numbers / right dishes given any food restrictions.
Coqueta is a fantastic place. This is a great bet for a date or special occasion. The food and service are both of exceedingly high quality. The cocktails and wine are solid as well.
Our favorite tapas restaurant in SF.
Amazing food as always.
Enjoyed the Meal . Dont miss the desserts
service was fair - food was good not fabulous
Amazing tapas, great service and atmosphere! Will definitely go back.
The food here is just okay. We got the steak and it was 75% fat, so we ate 25% of a steak. We ordered several small plates and they were all SO salty and just weren’t that interesting. The gin and tonics are super cool/pretty, but that’s kinda it.
Kale is not on my radar as something I want to eat. BEST. KALE. EVER.
Highly recommend the restaurant
This is a wonderful restaurant. You must be willing to share plates with your table, so it is best to go with one or two other couples. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. Highly recommended.
The food is always amazing here. My main concern was the 40 minute wait for a guaranteed 9:00 p.m. table. The bar was so crowded that we had to wait outside on a fairly cold night for a very long period of time.
Fantastic food and wonderful service - must experience this in San Francisco
Fantastic service! Robbie is the best. Food was delicious.
Pretty disappointed with the food we got at coquetta. This was our second time visiting the restaurant and we ordered a lot of similar items we did during our first visit. Most of the items were salty, lacked portion size and underwhelming. Example pork shoulder, patata brava, and churros. All of these items were utterly disappointing. We were celebrating anniversary. With this experience we doubt we would ever return at this place.
We were seated promptly upon arrival. The service was excellent. The food was also very good. All in all, a great dinner.
Maître D and male server rather rude
We dine at Coqueta pretty frequently, but our experience this time was different than usual. While service was excellent as always, the food was disappointing. It tasted like it was premade, sitting on the counter to be reheated. All dishes we ordered except for croquets and shrimp (octopus, mushrooms, cauliflower) were overly dry and almost inedible. And the amount you get for what you pay (3 shrimp for $18?) is not adequate. Even desserts (flan and leche cake) were disappointing. The leche cake did not taste fresh and flan had some frozen bits in it that diluted the flavor. I am not sure I will be coming back to pay premium prices for mediocre food.
Wide variety of tasty tapas. A bit weak on the vegan side, but that’s to be expected in a Spanish tapas restaurant. The table you get makes a BIG difference in your dining experience: some are great, others are noisy and you get bumped by everyone passing by.
My husband and I came here for a romantic dinner in the city. It was such a great choice. We ordered 4 tapas and 2 small desserts between us and each one was flavorful & unique. The service was impeccable - we never needed a water refill and we didn’t have to stare at our dirty plates for too long.
I had read that any seat in the restaurant offered views of the Bay Bridge. This was not the case for us. However, after dinner we stepped outside of the restaurant and were greeted with the beauty of the bridge at night and got some great pictures.
I would recommend this to anyone going to the city!
Friendly and flexible. Unique food.
Good food and good service, but the restaurant ignored a request I had on my Open Table reservation that I asked for re celebrating my friend's birthday on that day.
We were super excited to try Coqueta but were gravely disappointed with the food, especially the portion size. It was beyond ridiculous and almost laughable that they had portions that were meant to be larger tapas portions but in actuality it was not even close to a children’s portion sizing. The tapas should be advertised as a serving portion for one and NOT to be shared. Overall, we walked out unhappy and beyond hungry after spending $180...
We had a portion of Jamon iberico Bellota 29$, 5 very thin sliced served without bread. It’s ridiculous.
