   The views are beautiful. The service was pretty good, but they are understaffed and the food delivery was slow. The worst part was the food quality. For such an upscale hotel, you’d think the food would be better.

   The restaurant is lovely. My husband and I had a table with a beautiful ocean view. Beverly, our server, was amazing. Very attentive. It was the food that was a big disappointment. We ordered the baby romaine salad to share and that was fine. We each ordered the strip steak. It came with French fries, and they were good. My steak, however, was inedible, full of gristle and very tough. Beverly was gracious and offered to return it and I then ordered a hamburger. My husband ate the burger and gave his steak to me. It was better than mine but still was tough with gristle. We expected more for a $57 strip steak, but we were not charged for the returned steak. We would definitely go back because the service and ambiance were wonderful…just wouldn’t order the steak!

   We brought some out of town guests to Copper Bar for Dinner, and once again, we were not disappointed. Our server was Beverly and she was very charming and efficient.

   The Copper Bar at the Mauna Kea is always one of our first stops when staying on the Big Island. Our excellent server was Lacey who was cheerful and knowledgeable. We shared the KFC appetizer as well as a Red dragon roll and a Margherita pizza. The entertainer Pomai played beautiful music on his electric guitar and granted our musical requests. The Hula dancer was also lovely. You cannot beat sunset there - AND I saw the green flash !

   Great birthday celebration at Copper Bar. Our server, Beverly, made the evening special with fantastic sushi recommendations and 5-star service. Copper Bar is the perfect place for outstanding views and local entertainment. A must visit if you are at the Mauna Kea or Westin!

   We were a group of 4 adults with a high chair. They put us at a low small table and said the high chair would not fit. We insisted. The kids menu came out fast. The fries were cold with baby's grill cheese sandwich. The cocktails were fine and the food was fine, We ordered 5 items to share. Calamari, Sushi roll, Gyoza , Flat bread and Broccolini. The table was so small that we got an extra 2 tables to connect to our table. no room for our share plates or water once the food arrived. We got the first one our selves and moved all waters and share plates off table. until finally a server came over to add a table for us and helped move dishes and add share plates. Once we had enough room, we enjoyed the night. Actually had a plate to eat from. Other larger tables were available, not sure why they did not accommodate us with a 20 month old child.

   The ambiance at the restaurant is beautiful and relaxing. We started our dinner with volcano roll appetizer, which was excellent. The choices on the menu were very good for a couples and also my teenage daughter was able to find something that she liked. There was a good selection of drinks, and you could also choose from a variety of European wines. We were seated right in front of the musician and he was accompanied by a traditional Hawaiian dancer, which was a nice treat. The service was very good. We had walked to the restaurant from the Westin and there were shuttles available back to the Westin throughout the evening. Overall made a really nice experience and recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area.

    We had a sushi roll that tasted like kitchen cleaner and couldn’t eat it. We told the guy when he came and cleaned up our table. No apology and they still put it on the bill. They took the entire sushi roll minus one piece. We’ve had many other pleasant experiences so this one was a bit crazy.
