Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Virginia Beach
It was my wife’s birthday. I entered that into open table when I made the reservation. The information was never transferred to Cooper’s hawk. Unfortunately
Went out with friends for dinner. Always love coming to Cooper’s Hawk. I love the Luxe Chardonnay and of course the crispy Brussels sprouts. I live in Norfolk and there are only a few reasons why I drive to Virginia Beach. Cooper’s Hawk is one of them.
Great environment! Brook in the tasting area is PHENOMENAL!!!!!! Food was very good, Service this trip left somethings to be desired. All in all it was a great outing due to the people attending the dinner and the reason for the celebration.
Everything was Excellent. From the time we walked in the door to the time we got up and walked out of the restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing as was the service. It's extremely loud in this restaurant but worth it
Appetizers and drinks were delicious. Dinner entrees were not that impressive. Filet mignon was overdone and tough. Basic potatoes and broccoli. Seared scallops were very thin and small. Expected more for $26-$34 dollar plates. Again would only go for appetizers and drinks.
Always an amazing time!
Fun place to go for Wine and Food, but make a reservation, unless you like to wait a long time. The bar area is a little loud, but it was still nice. We didn't get seated in the main dining area, so I can't compare.
We had an amazing time. The food and wine were delicious!
Amazing dinner! Waitress was amazing
I selected the red wine braised beef for the 2nd time this time it wasn't as big of a portion that I had the 1st time and the red wine sauce didn't really have as much flavor
Cooper's Hawk Winery is a great place to catch-up with friends.
As always a wonderful dinner.
Always consistent with food quality, enjoy wine club membership & benefits. Our regular go to place monthly.
Enjoyed our food and our server was great.
My review is for the dinner experience only. There were many wine tastings going on during that time and they seemed quite nice. For my dining experience the first thing I'll say is that it was very loud. I wasn't expecting that going in for dinner, but the wine bar and tastings had a lot of people there and it made for more of a bar volume vice fine dining. If you expect to have a quiet conversation, probably not the place.
The wine was good, but I was taken aback by there being no sommelier to talk to us about the wine menu. Seemed odd for a wine based establishment. My scallop and shrimp risotto was good, not great. The scallops were only seared on one side and the shrimp was heavily overdone. With that said, the risotto itself was very well done and the white truffle oil was used perfectly. My wife's filet was presented horribly with rings on the plate from where it was under the heat lamp, but the cook of the meat was perfect as was the taste. Had it not been for the plating, it would have been five stars.
All in all it was a nice meal, really no major complaints. It's not on par with other fine dining establishments, but quite nice.
First time here and love the ability to try all the different wines before you decide what one you want.
Food quality varied from great entrees cooked well to poor tasteless sides that included very tough veggies. While the entrees were tasteful the filet medallions were anything but tender. Wines/drinks were very good. Noise level was intolerable. Forget about having conversions at you table. They even amped up the music to compensate. And as we all know this has the reverse affect on groups that have already reached maximum alcohol consumption. Not a fine dining experience, more of a sports bar atmosphere.
Outstanding event!! Well taken care of!!!
Need to do something about noise level. We were a table of 6 and could not hear each other! Very anoying!
Always a wonderful time, always a bit loud. Tonight there was a table next to us that was extremely loud and boisterous. I’m glad they had a good time, and eventually we blocked out the noise and concentrated on the food.
