Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Orange Village
We had the worst service I’ve ever had for our wine tasting. I am a member and I love my membership....but tonight was awful. He was an older white man with a beard. He was more interested in drinking his coffee and staring at anything but us. He was rude and ruined an experience I look forward to every month! I’ve been in the service industry and worked retail so I have a lot of patience and understanding for anyone who has to deal with people but I have never been more upset with an experience or service. Really disappointing.
Cooper’s Hawk was very busy at our arrival. We attempted to get a few tastings from the tasting bar at arrival but the service was slow to the point of it taking 30 minutes to get our first glass. After sitting for our meals there were very long gaps of time between visits from our waitress and long waits on getting wine and food alike. In the end the food was fantastic but what could have been a 1-1.5 hour dining experience was dragged along becoming a 3 hour sentence of waiting and wondering.
Food is very good;lots of good choices. Servers are nice but slow bringing drinks...shouldn’t take 15-20 mins to get a glass of wine. Biggest complaint is even with reservations, your table is never ready. You’re asked to stand to the side (like a holding area) until they come get you. With 3-4 women at the hostess stand, standing around talking to each other, perhaps they could better use their time to prepare tables. I’m a believer in reservations & if it was once or twice, that would be understandable but not every single time (been there 8 times-still good food). Wish they could get it together better.
Excellent all around! Great wine, great food, perfect service!
Jasmine was a wonderful server! It was our anniversary, and she didn’t rush us at all! She even brought us a champagne toast. Wonderful!!!
Extremely slow service. Reservations was early at 5:15 and not crowded but still slow service. Food was cold when delivered. Not impressed with restaurant at all.
The Rib Eye steak "special" was poor quality.
Service was poor. We did not receive our bottle of wine until we were half thru our meal.
Food was great. Ambiance was nice. Service was bad. I asked for a flight of wine and received a taste of the red blend. Nice young man but s.l.o.w... Since this location is a 40 drive for us, it will be a while before we go back. Parking needs improvement.
The wine bar tasting area was great. We waited a little long for food and then also getting our bill. Always great food.
It is fun to check it out once. The wine tasting is fun. The food is ok. People were nice.
Let me start by saying this restaurant is extremely noisy!!! You can hardly hear the person next to
you-headache noise. It is a restaurant for wine drinkers-which we are NOT. We have been there
several times and each time there has been something wrong with either the food or the food
and the service. This time my chicken sandwich was extremely salty. Our visit before that both
of us had too salty food-so salty - we had to send it back. Service is spotty-sometimes good and
sometimes bad. Food is Medium priced. Can't say anything about wine-again we don't drink-but
most people seem to enjoy it and they have some sort of wine club you can join.
Not Our most favorite place-just too noisy to enjoy a meal.
The food was outstanding and service was fantastic!
We did notice that the city water was noticeably chlorinated and we wonder if you might consider getting a filter rather than having people resort to buying bottled water.
The acoustics were not an issue or bothersome at lunch time as it was at a recent dinner
Great food, terrific service, a bit loud, will certainly go back.
I took my wife for her birthday. Our server, Michael, was nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, our food was served later than we expected. Also, my meal was not prepared the way I had ordered it (gluten-free). By the time my replacement meal arrived, my wife and I were ready to leave. Also, no manager came by to inquire about our meals or experience.
This is the second time in the past couple of months that we've encountered this kind of experience. We also belong to the wine club but are considering cancelling that.
Great but noisy
I love the food, the choice of appetizers, the look of the place and the service has always been excellent even though this was just my second visit. But I will be back!
It was too loud. Hard to hear the person across the table. We have a large group of people that we are looking to meet for dinner. We would have use this restaurant but it’s to loud, so we will not use them. 😔
I love this place. I had a wonderful time. The food was amazing. The service was great.
While the decor and ambiance are quite nice and our server was pleasant and helpful...the menu was all over the place, portions were huge and food was heavy, and worst of all, the wine was mediocre at best.
1. Hostess was unfriendly
2. They did not update the reservation, so we ended up waiting to be seated an extra 15 minutes after our on time arrival.
3. Food did not come out together.
4. Second glass of wine was ordered- came out when we were done and ready to leave.
One of our fave places to dine.
Delicious! Loved our food and the sangria was amazing!
Food was amazing. Server, David, was very helpful with suggestions on wine and food. He was so pleasant and attentive. Fun and vibrant atmosphere
Overall nice experience. Enjoyed the opportunity to taste several wines. Mexican drunken shrimp were amazing. My entree wasn’t hot but warm. Had clearly sat for a little bit before delivery. However, my husband’s filet was cooked perfectly. Our server was great - friendly and very knowledgeable. Will return for another visit
Great food. Service is efficient but uneven. Several missed dishes/entrees which had to be corrected.
Waited 15 mins to be seated at our table with a reservation. Once seated we ordered wine, that took another 14 mins. It’s wine. That’s what their specialty is!? Our drinks were empty the whole meal. We won’t be back
Great food and amazing service. We will be back
Cannot beat the luncheon combo of the wonderful lobster bisque and salad or flatbread.
Much too loud and was not even crowded
server was sent home so switched servers...somewhat choppy expereince
Try the egg roll appetizer. I don’t like Asian food. Loved these! More than enough for a meal.
Another great meal with great service! The noise level was highl and a bit annoying but will not keep us away...
I was very sick in the restroom for 20 minutes after eating lunch. Cold sweats and other issues. It lunch was great!
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal the last time so excited to come back! Place is very busy. Enjoyed the appetizers very much. Ordered the surf and turf where you select meat and seafood. Unfortunately my strip steak was not medium rare but closer to medium well. It was still good! Loved the Brussels Sprouts salad! They also allow you to try the wines before ordering! Service was good!
Food was very good ...but the noise level was really high ... can something be done about that ?...I recognize noise brings excitement but it is really hard to hear and sometimes to talk.
Disappointed. My dinner portion was small and very salty. My wife's meal was very good. Very cold inside and much more casual than I expected. Will give it a second chance.
People are VERY nice, from the waitress to the bartenders. I love the food and love the wine club. My son took us when we were visiting in Chicago and I've been hooked. Joined when they opened up in Orange. When we go to Columbus we always have to stop at that one. My only disappointment is how noise this one is. I know all places get noise when busy , but sometimes you can't hold a conversation without straining. Overall love this place.
Charming; love that it doubles as a wine store. Only drawback was the steak was cooked closer to medium-rare instead of medium. Everything else was delicious and you mostly get what you pay for.
Th food is always excellent, but service is always very spotty.
Great food and good menu
