An absolutely lovely dinner experience. Great food, very well prepared nd presented. A really diverse and creative menu. Loved the idea of grazing from a range of different things to eat. Wine was excellent and a great recommendation by the waiter who was well informed on the topic. Service was totally on point and the atmosphere was very cool brasserie meets retro.

Even though I had booked three weeks in advance and specifically asked for a table upstairs, when we arrived (on time) we were told that none were available and that we had to sit at the bar. For the price of the food (which +drinks came to $150 each), I do not want to be seated on a wobbly bar stool with no back support in a corridor. To cap it off, the woman behind the bar was very unpleasant; someone not suited to working in hospitality. Overall, a miserable experience. My second time at Continental Deli, and my last.

We enjoyed a late lunch here on Valentine’s Day. The service and general ambience are excellent. Food is always interesting and tasty, but I think the charcuterie board should come with some bread. The banquet is good value but wines, while mostly terrific, are pricey and some cheaper local drops would be appreciated.

Best spot in the area for a cocktail, wine and mega tasty snacks to share.

I come here a fair bit. But on this occasion, I was meeting a cousin I never know I had. I wanted somewhere I knew and felt good in, where we could share a meal. It was perfect. Being hard of hearing / Deaf I was delighted to see my cousin also wearing hearing aids. We were grateful the room we were eating in was able to have the music turned down so we would hear each other. I love this restaurant. The ethos is community. Thank you.

I've been wanting to go here for ages as I follow them on instagram and their food always looks amazing. They did not disappoint. It was all so delicious. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

Delicious simple meals for great value. We shared the cheese platter and the fish and chips and it was more than enough and unique.

Can be good. Menu is limited and not adjusted fast enough online when items are no longer available. Service varies. Last time we felt rushed and too many water glass refills interrupting our conversation and mood. Value varies with dish size and quality.

An excellent combination of dishes and a gorgeous ambient environment to have such with a few dear friends. A very special place.

Enjoyed a lovely mid week lunch at Continental Deli. I believe it gets a lot busier at night but we enjoyed the peacefulness and relaxed atmosphere of our daytime visit. The staff were extremely welcoming and the food was thoroughly enjoyable. They dont serve coffee but suggested we buy ours next door and bring it in if we wanted.

Food was very cute but the portions are quite small. But the flavours and quality of product make up for this. It's definitely worthwhile to get the banquet. Atmosphere is cute. Service was great, staff were super nice.

The flan in a can was the highlight for me. I thought it would be a bigger creme caramel but it was so much nicer. Creamy with chewy caramel bits in the sauce.

I'm not sure about the cocktails in a tin. Are these tins re-used? Seems like a gimmicky waste.

Overall a cute place for a date and maybe a group of friends up for a banquet or sharing a lot of plates. Keep in mind not many options because it's a deli.

We had multiple dietary requirements in our group of 4 (as in we had vegetarian, pescatarian and a shell fish allergy...painful!) but we were still able to order the banquet without any fuss. They accommodated for everyone and it was all drop dead insanely amazing. I haven't eaten food that great in a long time. The service was impeccable. I cannot fault our experience.

Banquet was a great way sample of number of meals on the bistro menu. Excellent value for money and the food was amazing!
Service was a teeny bit slow and we had to wait for waitstaff to refill our drinks from our bottle (kept elsewhere) but other than that, the visit was fantastic.

Everything was Brilliant. Good Service and Vibe.

Such a great dinner out ! Food was del ious and with multiple allergies they were able to give us the confidence to really enjoy the food. They also moved us when asked as was a little noisy for us to a perfect location .

Our waitress was amazing..

My Mother took a fall due to her metal knee and the waitress rushed to her aid immediately. She then offered her a glass of wine, on the house, to bring the mood up after she had seated her again...such great attentive service with heart!

Great service , excellent music and delicious food. Good selection of wine. Staff particularly remarkable - relaxed , friendly and efficient. A great evening !

Fantastic atmosphere, not cheap by any means and service was a little slow. But food was delicious. Great date venue.

If I could rate the service higher than 5 stars I would. My partner and I had a wonderful meal, the variety and quality of the menu (we had the banquet) was fantastic.
The cocktails were also very good, and a great wine selection.

Can't wait to come back.

Nice food for a relaxed midweek dinner. Service was quite good, a bit slow with drinks but nicely paced food delivery.

Amazing food here at continental. I have recommended this restaurant to several of my friends. Only down fall to the experience was seating. My partner and I had a booking but were placed at the bar to eat and drink. Been placed at the bar is no issue however we were placed in between two other couples making the space very close to each other and not COVID safe.

Love love the cocktails in tins!! Such a cool funky place. Definitely will be returning!!

Not much of a wine drinker so would have been good to see a couple more beers on the menu..

Not up to the usual standard. Salad was small, service was hit and miss and the Cosmopolitan Cocktail was so sickly sweet it was hard to drink. Pasta still terrific, wish the lunch menu was a bit sexier.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and will be coming back for sure. Next time will ask to sit down stairs as that seemed to have more of a fun vibe.

I really enjoyed our night out at Continental Deli Newtown - it was a lovely ambience in the restaurant - quiet enough to be able to talk to each other, but with a buzz of people around you. The food was fantastic, the service wonderful, and they served cocktails in this interesting tinned can! A bit of a novelty. A great night, and will definitely return.
