Lovely place for tea for a special occasion. More fun than traditional high teas in Chicago with better, more substantial food included. Delicious chef selections! The boozy teas were pretty good, some more than others (our table of 4 sampled 4 different options). They made my aunt's birthday special with a glass of rose with a candle, which was adorable. Our server was lovely and the ambiance was very chic. Price point of $45 for a large (arguably 2) cocktail and approximately 4 savory and 4 sweet bites per person is more reasonable than other locations, too. Overall, lovely experience.

There were fruit flies all over the place. The portions were very tiny. Not going to return

The food was fabulous with wonderful flavors and the service great. We had the squash soup, cauliflower rice dish and apple pear salad. Great location prior to going to a theater production!

The service was absolutely horrendous. I'm not sure if the staff was having an off day or what, but there was no host at the entrance when we arrived, so we were pretty much wandering around for 15 minutes. I confirmed with the host the day before that we were coming for the upside down tea party and when we were finally seated, we were given a dinner menu instead of a tea menu. We waited 38 minutes for a server to finally come over to take our order. The vibe of the place was excellent, I would definitely come back just to see the place, but I don't think I would come back to eat/drink here.

I like the commons club. It was me and my lady's 1st time there. Our server (I believe his name was Conner) was great! The food portions were pretty small. We were back hungry after about a hour or so. But over all it was good. I will most def be back. PS - You guys are officially number 4 in my top 10 calamari list.

Open table misled us, indicating that they were part of restaurant week, but the restaurant manager said they did not participate in restaurant week. To be courteous, the manager reduced the bill. Ignoring open table, we were pleased with the food and service and will go back.

I was looking forward to the Chinese buffet that Commons Club was offering for Christmas Day. However, I ended up being very disappointed. First off, one of us ordered one of the two cocktails that were on the menu to accompany the dinner, and the server brought the wrong drink. Then she disappeared for a while. We went up to the buffet, and the food looked delicious. Frankly it even tasted delicious, but it was COLD. The fried rice: cold; the white rice: cold; the entrees: cold. The only things on the buffet that were hot were the eggrolls and the crab rangoon. I found an employee, perhaps he was a manager, and told him I was concerned about the temperature of the food. He said that he'd talk to someone and have them do something about it. Later I saw people fiddling with the heating elements, but the food was still cold the next time I got a helping. We heard people at the next table complain to their waitress about the temperature of the food as well. At any rate, we asked that waitress if she could bring the correct drink to the table, so she put in the order. About 15 minutes later our original waitress dropped the drink off at the table and went on her way, not offering us the check or anything. When we asked the other waitress for the check, my dining partner explained the snafu with the cold food and she adjusted the check somehow, so that was good. But the entire experience left me feeling cranky. Oh, and to add insult to injury, we were left with all our dirty dishes on the table, with no one taking them from our table. I'm not going there again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Deloise, I am so disappointed to hear about your experience. This is not the level of service or quality of experience we strive to provide. I would love to be given the chance to rectify your experience and show you a proper dining experience. We value your feedback greatly and only look to improve on quality of food for special events, and especially service and punctuality. Please let us know your email address so we can connect. Thank you, Zachary

Afternoon tea was just meh. Server ignored the one allergy at the table, mint, by serving the first teapot with fresh mint leaves stuffed into the spout. Bites were a bit underwhelming, apart from the biscuits with jam and chocolate truffle which were pretty tasty. Overall; the atmosphere was fun, and festive. Save some money, and pour a splash of whiskey into your own tea at home.
