Please call the restaurant for reservations over 5 people.
Not memorable. The food was only decent, the decor/atmosphere nothing special.
this was the 4th or 5th time at Commerson. Waited for 10 minutes before a server arrived. Place was not crowded. Upon arriving the server wanted to get on with ordering food....never mind the drinks. Informed the server of the situation. The manager...assume manager...came over and apologized and we seemed to get back into a comfortable meal. Food was good, as it always has been. Hard to recommend but will, and hope the service improves.
Ordered seared scallops and loaded baked potato and both exceeded my expectations. Both were very delicious! The service was nice and it wasn't too crowded during our visit. Somewhat of an expensive place but nothing that would break the bank. Would definitely visit again.
Slow service and average food.
My party had an excellent experience at Commerson. We are local regulars and having been going since they opened. Over time the restaurant started to go down hill and we had several meals that were not up to our standards. But happy to say now that they have a new GM, Rachel, and she is doing things to make Commerson amazing again. Thank you for your attentiveness Rachael. We will be coming back frequently and can not say enough good things about your level of hospitality. I would highly recommend Commerson!
Good, quiet place for brunch on a Sunday. Good food. Great truffle fries.
Found this place online. My group was looking for a nice place with good food, welcoming and slightly upscale atmosphere and we were thrilled with what we found. Our server made great recommendations for food and wine, the food came super quick and everyone enjoyed each dish. We will come again anytime.
Just really poor service. One course took 1hr 45mins and we eat pretty fast. Booked a table outside and nobody even tried to set one up - they just say us inside without an apology.
There has been a shift in the management /chef.
The menu no longer includes the waffles which were the best thing on the menu! Also their bottomless mimosa policy has changed and does not allow you to switch up flavors like they used to.
Food was excellent. Waiter service could have been better. Seemed like the person really hated their job.
Went there for happy hour. Wine selection is great, food is amazing. Great experience altogether.
Too noisy, poor service, we had to constantly look for our server who was MIA!
It was intolerably loud and the service was quite slow. Would not go back.
Good local place with basic menu.
Great value and service
We love Commerson. It’s not fussy. It’s not pretentious. But time after time the food, cocktails and service are outstanding
I'm not sure of it was just us, but the drink we ordered was the strongest drink I've had in a long time, way stronger than anything I would anticipate for a cocktail with dinner. It was tasty, though! It was a shared drink, with a tropical test. I ordered the pork chop and it was divine. Even the broccolini accompanying it was delish. My partner ordered the famed shrimp and chorizo burger, which was spicy and satisfying. We ordered the kale salad as a starter which was tasty, but oversalted. And I love salt. The carrot cake for dessert, with a small scoop of creamy cheesecake ice cream next to it, was a perfect finish. Overall, great food. The service could use some refreshment, as it really wasn't on point with the food. I don't require too much at my meal, but I think it's reasonable to be checked on periodically, especially after receiving your plate. I would still go back!
My friend and I had, admittedly, a lot of requests for our server. She was so patient and polite and courteous. The manager came to our table several times to see how we were and to see if we needed anything. She also was patient and polite and courteous. The food was delicious. Nice space. Will return.
We have gotten a lot of take-out from Commerson in the past and decided to try dining in. It was quite noisy, but they sat us away from the large group, and we didn't have to shout to one another over in our little side table, which was great. The ambience is relaxed and cool, the food is delicious, the service is excellent, and parking is easy. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Brunch here rocks! I’d recommend any meal time all the food is great!
The best place to eat in the Miracle Mile!!
A mid-city gem! Service was delightful from beginning to end. Food? Incredible. Wine? Yum. A lovely spot for my friend and I to dine before a friend's theater performance.
Server took too long to initially see us. No dialogue about the restaurant or the menu items. It was my first time there and I didn’t know the menu. It would be helpful if she had offered some guidance. So loud I could barely hear her. Barely came around to check on us. Allowed dirty dishes to just stay there. Short ribs and octopus were bland. She asked how the food was. I told her. She couldn’t care any less. Didn’t ask about why. Just asked if we wanted dessert. Doesn’t seem like anyone evaluates their servers for quality control.
Not worth it for the price point. Service was slow and inattentive even though we were an early table and the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. Food was fair to mediocre, but had the same cost of a much better place. If you want something of this quality, go to a chain or middle of the road place and save yourself some money.
The food is great - and a great value. We’ve always loved this place for the happy hour and have told tons of friends how good it was. This last visit though was less then stellar. Even though the big restaurant was empty- they crammed everyone into 2 giant tables (or the bar). They no longer allow happy hour in the rest of the restaurant. The wood tables were loud and crowded with uncomfortable stools. Although the food was great, the corralling customers into that awful space may be too much for another visit. (Also- they reported me as a no-show on opentable) It was corrected later, but still...
Four girlfriends and I had lunch here. Ordered almost everything on the menu and shared it all. Everything was delicious! Great service and a relaxing atmosphere. Great spot.
Food, drinks and atmosphere was great for catching up with a girlfriend after work. I'll definitely be back again!
I’ve come to commerson in dozens of occasions for dinner and or drinks; this was my first time trying their brunch and I won’t be doing it again. My boyfriend and I sat at our table near the bar for close to 45min after ordering what we thought was a fairly simple meal choice (bacon, eggs, toast, berries and yogurt) and the food never arrived. 10min before we made the decision to leave and go someplace else, someone from the kitchen brought us the toast and didn’t give an explanation as to what the hold up was, even when asked. We received a shrugged pair of shoulders and a mumbled “I’m sorry” before he scurried away back to the kitchen. It was close to 12 (my reservation was for 1130, but we arrived earlier and they were able to seat us earlier because they were fairly empty; now I see why) when I convinced my boyfriend to put down $10 bucks for his cappuccino and for the bread since we did consume it, and left for another establishment. I’ll stick to dinners and drinks from now on, my goodness.
It took over an hour to get our food because there was a new person in kitchen who messed up. Server was very apologetic but no one come to check in on us the whole time we were waiting... we finally went to her to complain. manager seemed un phased, sommelier offered a shot but my sister wasn’t drinking so we declined. Cool place but very loud and echoey. Food was pretty good. Their most popular fish, the sea bass tasted like popcorn to me but I love a dish with fennel and this had a Lot. Brussels sprouts were good if you’re ok with a heavy vinegar flavor, red snapper ceviche was my favorite of the dishes, liked that it came with plantain chips. We live a block away but not sure I’d return with my husband like i had originally planned
Love love love this place! Have been coming since it first opened. Not a huge selection but a little bit of everything and it’s all really yummy and nicely priced. Fabulous cocktails too, and the staff are really fun. Try it!!
The bartender was cute, snarky and playful- luv him❤️❤️❤️
We greatly enjoyed the food and service. The table seating was not comfortable with backless benches and the noise level made it impossible to communicate.
Food was incredible. Diana is amazing (best waitress). A little loud tonight but great overall
We liked Commerson. It's a good sized restaurant. Good food. Good service. Good location. We met friends there; they didn't rush us. Not too intrusive. Good.
Good food, excellent cocktails and an overall vibrant environment.
Octopus was soft and rubbery. Flavorless. Farro salad was delicious. Service was slow. Had to wait quite a while before getting drinks, then ordered a second glass of wine which I had to remind them about 15 minutes after ordering. Not impressed.
WhIle I enjoy the ambience and appreciate it as a neighborhood convenience, I find their appetizers and entrees to be a bit overpriced. I also don't see enough changes to the menu from month to month. Is it just me, or has the shrimp & chorizo burger been on the menu since Commerson's opened?
Great service, attentive management, innovative dishes...and many thanks! for the round of drinks.
We were in on a late Sunday evening, so there was no noise. We sat at the bar, had the ceviche, Brussel sprouts and fries. The sprouts were especially tasty, and out crispy fries were so yummy with the aioli.
Went with a group of 6 people ages 30-55. Our reservation was ready when we arrived and got seated right away. The food was outstanding - everyone was very impressed w/ the meal. In particular the octopus, salmon and chorizo/shrimp burger. I had a spicy margarita and it may be one of the best I have ever had. All 6 of us left very pleased and had a great experience!
