Good time, food wasn’t very impressive, lobster tail was small and steak was blackened on one side. Great service though.
As always the food and service were top notch.
Shrimp scampi was excellent but the pecan crusted trout was dry and tasted "fishy"
This was a perfect place to take our family. Excellent server! This was the first time in a long time my 14 year old autistic grandson has been in a restaurant and our server was SO accommodating to special needs.
The food was good. They ran out of stuffing and cranberries for their Thanksgiving dinner and had to substitute other items. The service provided by our waitress was excellent. She was very attentive and friendly, even after having worked a long day. It was a good experience!
We had out of town guests for Thanksgiving and the restaurant offered a Thanksgiving choice. Two of our party ordered the Thanksgiving meal. As expected, the menu had a limited amount of choices. Three desert selections were offered: apple pie, creme burle, and key lime pie. We were seated at 5:45 PM and at the end of our meal we were told that they were out of apple pie so we both ordered creme burle. The waitress came back and told us they were out of creme burle. We were not offered an alternative. I believe I rightly believe that the restaurant only had pumpkin pie and I do not know that anyone received apple pie or creme burle. Our three guests were not satisfied with their sea food dinners and one person was satisfied with the sword fish. The waitress only filled our water glasses when asked. Needless to say we will not be going to the restaurant for Thanksgiving again and based on our experience neither should you.
This was my second visit to the Fish Market on Thanksgiving. I had the turkey dinner special again. A great meal, so much easier than cooking at home, and not having a ton of leftovers I can't eat. The pumpkin pie was as good as anything home cooked!
The traditional Thanksgiving prix-fixe dinner was excellent, just what we wanted when we selected the restaurant. The server was slow to get to us and to get our drinks, and apparently the bar orders were backed up, but she was very pleasant and efficient after that.
This review is for their Thanksgiving 3 course meal. It took approximately 31 minutes for us to receive drinks or bread. When the food came, two of the orders were wrong. The food was EXTREMELY salty - almost unpalatable. I don't think their chef really understood thanksgiving food. They put marshmallows into the the mashed sweet potatoes which basically made them taste like a mushy sweet mess. The tables were too close together and a baby was screaming it's head off for a long time.
Honestly the whole thing was a disaster except for the creme brulee. That was good, besides that I was heavily disappointed. We had hoped for a nice quiet evening out where we didn't have to work on Thanksgiving and make dinner and clean up. It turned out to be slow and pathetic service, bad food, and a bad atmosphere. Not what we were looking for at all for a table of 5 that spent $200.
I do not recommend the Thanksgiving Dinner at Columbus Fish Market.
Yes. The food was good and it’s a nice restaurant. But it’s not the best that I’ve ever been. Our server was excellent.
Food was terrible
Service was quick although server had to be reminded a few times. Food was very good and prepared as ordered which included a gluten free meal. Too full for dessert.
Hands down the BEST seafood I have had...possibly ever!! And I just went to Florida in September! The calamari was delicious. The oysters tasted like the sea melting in my mouth!! If you are interested in the Millionaire Margarita, don't hesitate!! This romantic spot is on our special list of places suitable for any occasion!!
Food could use more flavor. Asparagus were like biosensors sticks. Red mashed potatoes were good. Salmon over cooked and crab cakes undercooked. Crab cakes needed more flavor. BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp was the highlight of the meal. Great appetizer!
Short staffed, but that doesn't apply to the food quality. Food was was not hot, and they changed the recipe of our favorites since our last visit. We were disappointed. Used to be our favorite seafood spot.
Fish was over cooked and bland. Nothing special about this meal.
Truly terrible food & service. Everything was terrible. I do not expect this place to last long. It used to be good .
Took a while once we were seated, but overall great experience. Took my family and seven of us had a great time.
The food and service where excellent, atmosphere was nice would go again
The food was delicious and service great for as busy as it was. For a high end restaurant, the bathroom was neglected. One toilet clogged, the other no toilet paper.
Crab cake Appetizer was delivered with main course & was cold. Crab cake also did not have any of the sauce/ aioli that described/pictured in reviews so was dry on top of being cold. Waitress didn’t come back to check on us timely enough to correct this issue as we had concert tickets and were on a time schedule. Friend and I both had pecan crusted trout which was delicious.
Must say for the price the portion didn’t fit it. Food was good but just want a wow factor to it for food with a price that large there should have been that man that’s is delicious all I thought was that all I got for that price tag!!
The Columbus Fish Market never fails to deliver an outstanding meal.
We enjoyed everything. I just think the place is too dark.
Food was good, service was good overall a GREAT experience
This was our first trip back to this lovely restaurant in many years. When it was Mitchell's it was great and the current owners have preserved the ambiance, the basic menu and the quality. The service was excellent and the restaurant was on the quiet side which is the way older folks like it. All in all it was a very nice and reasonably priced dinner out.
Took my mom there for her birthday celebration. We ordered calamari, it was very dry. We sent the calamari back and was given a fresh plate and it was lightly breaded with little seasoning. The crab cakes had a fishy taste did not taste like crab at all. Lastly, the carrot cake looked delicious, but when we tried to cut the cake it was frozen solid. We will never return.
We haven’t been to the Fish Market in several years. The service was great, but the food was not up to the standards I am used to. The twin lobster tails were kind of stringy and chewy. The 7 layer carrot cake was good, but not as good as it once was. I think for the cost I will be going somewhere else for seafood next time. On a more positive note, I was pleased that the wait staff gave us a complimentary dessert since it was a birthday dinner.
We ate early so there weren’t many people in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive. Everyone enjoyed their food.
Our server was excellent as was our meal and drinks!
Our waitress was exceptional. The food, with the exception of dessert was mediocre at best.
Overall good experience. I’m sure the service industry is over worked at this point, but waitress seemed less than thrilled for us to be there. My mom was in town to celebrate her 60th birthday and this is her favorite restaurant. The waitress seemed annoyed by our presence so I was very disappointed by that but overall still a good experience. Food was very good and hostess was so kind!
I would recommend with conditions.
The hostess was rude and the waiter was very inattentive. The wait time for service more than 5 minutes.
The Columbus Fish Market is a favorite place for business luncheons. It is dignified and calm inside. The staff is always very courteous to the level of a private club class of service. It isn't the least expensive place to go but the service, food, and environment make is one of my favorite places to go.
Drinks didn’t provide a bang for the cost. Normally one cosmo is enough!
The sourdough bread is amazing. Both my guest and I had the fish and chips, and they were very good.
Loved it the mashed potatoes were amazing!!!!!!!!!
Our crap legs were ice cold other than that hat it was just ok for our first time i font think we will go back
Great customer service, good food
