Our server was excellent as was our meal and drinks!
Our waitress was exceptional. The food, with the exception of dessert was mediocre at best.
Overall good experience. I’m sure the service industry is over worked at this point, but waitress seemed less than thrilled for us to be there. My mom was in town to celebrate her 60th birthday and this is her favorite restaurant. The waitress seemed annoyed by our presence so I was very disappointed by that but overall still a good experience. Food was very good and hostess was so kind!
I would recommend with conditions.
The hostess was rude and the waiter was very inattentive. The wait time for service more than 5 minutes.
The Columbus Fish Market is a favorite place for business luncheons. It is dignified and calm inside. The staff is always very courteous to the level of a private club class of service. It isn't the least expensive place to go but the service, food, and environment make is one of my favorite places to go.
Drinks didn’t provide a bang for the cost. Normally one cosmo is enough!
The sourdough bread is amazing. Both my guest and I had the fish and chips, and they were very good.
Loved it the mashed potatoes were amazing!!!!!!!!!
Our crap legs were ice cold other than that hat it was just ok for our first time i font think we will go back
Great customer service, good food
Tom was friendly and polite, we enjoyed our dinner with his great hospitality and nice meal!
Wonderful service with excellent suggestions from our server.
The food quality was definitely lacking. There was no balance when it came to flavour. The fish was bland but the asian inspired sauce was extremely sweet and wiped out the taste of the fish. It was like I was eating sauce. The quality of food and the cuisine did not equal to the expense. It was extremely disappointing and I would not recommend this restaurant.
Service was great but the food was dry, and rubbery. My cod had a layer of crust beneath it that was inedible. My date didn’t eat his shrimp.
The food was good, but not outstanding. The lobster bisque was very good. Nice big oysters are not expensive, which is great. They tried to seat us in a side room. We saw a booth open in the main room and requested it. But one wait staff insisted there were no open booths. We moved toward it anyway, and same staff commented disapprovingly that we wanted a booth "all to ourselves." Our own wait person was excellent, however. Drinks here are on the sweet side (is that an Ohio thing?), and a request for a simple negroni got me something carbonated. Bartenders, please, when someone orders a simple drink, they usually don't want your unique spin on it. Mostly a good experience.
Overall good. Barely met expectations but didn’t exceed them.
Disappointing. This was my 4th visit, and my last. The service, food, and upkeep was all noticeably off from previous visits. The hostess clumped all the diners in one area, and lucky us, we were next to a VERY loud table with markedly different ideas about acceptable social conduct in nice restaurants. My wife's crab cake and shrimp were cold, my salmon was blazing hot, indicating poor timing by the kitchen. The hostess said "I would have brought bread, but we're out" Really? What restaurant runs out of bread? I guess the same one that runs out of soap in the women's restroom. I wonder how the female staff washes their hands? The service was fairly inattentive, and slow. I was really disappointed as I had talked the place up to my wife.
The food and service were good, although one member of our group got his steak overdone. The ambience was fine as always. The major disappointment was that I had indicated that we were there to celebrate a birthday, but no mention of that was made by the host or the server. That was a let-down.
Took husband there for his birthday lunch. Like many restaurants, very few staff were on hand but the experience was good. My salmon was very tasty and my picky husband really enjoyed his steak.
Birthday lunch for a friend. Americana dish was odd wilted spinach on top. Got it before don't remember that but ok overall
1. The booths are pretty tight
2. Temperature is usually cool
3. Food and service were very good
The Seafood Americana was delicious and the service was great, but everything is pretty expensive. This is definitely a place I would reserve for special occasions rather than regular dining out.
The open table app sux. #1 it wouldn't allow me to reserve exactly for more than 8 people. #2 there was a modification tab which did allow me to reserve for the exact number of people (17). however, it didn't allow me to keep the time of the reservation. It wouldn't go through for our time, 5:30.. It made me change the time to 5:15 in order to go through. Your app needs to upgrade.
Had the seafood sampler and my scallops are over cooked and had hair on my plate that looked like cat hair or some sort. I looked at my husband and said well this is definitely not my black. His salmon was cook perfectly but veggies and rice was cold. Was trying to get my waitress attention but she seem very busy. After we got her attention she did ask to bring another dish but I was not feeling it after that. The manger came over and said that they will not charge me for that dish and took my drink off also. I think we will stay away for a while.
Great service. Everyone was very pleasant. Food was very good.
We had a very good waitress, but that is all that was good. Sent my wifes scallops back because they were over cooked and felt like rubber. They were replaced with scallops that were so under cooked they looked to be raw.
My nephew birthday & good & service was excellent
Small portions. Ran out of several entree’s of fish. Server rude. No bread/rolls offered, no refills on drinks. Will not go back
Becky great as always
Great staff and great food.
Very well made food and worth the price.
I always have a great experience but tonight was just ok. They were missing the 6 oz filets because of a shipment error. Usually in that for instance if the surf and turf mentions a 6 oz filet most restaurants just add the 8 oz filet for the same price because of the inconvenience. Other than that we had a few issues with the taste of drinks that were corrected. Overall the service was great considering COVID life. Our server, Alisa was very patient considering the size of our group so I appreciated her!
No idea how many times I have been to this place but I have never been disappointed (and I'm picky).
Appetizers and entree portions were very small for the money. The food wasn’t anything to rave about. It was mediocre at best. I will say the desserts were very good and definitely big enough to share. The cocktails weren’t very good either. When we were boxing up our leftovers the waiter brought us bag that had blood spots all over them and it was honestly disgusting. The server was amazing though! He really made sure we were well taken care off and made sure my food was prepared separately since I have a shellfish allergy. Overall I’d give this experience a 2 star. The food quality and taste just weren’t there. For a fish market we just expected more.
It’s always a pleasure visiting Columbus Fish Market. We love sitting in the bar area and we’ve always received excellent service. The hostess is not the nicest but we look past that because all the other staff seems to be pleasant.
The food is amazing!
Excellent fresh fish and seafood. Exceptional service. Food quality and selection is veru good. Wine list...good. Prices are at market and worth the quality. Our server was Tom. He was the perfect host.
We were celebrating a birthday, and had a private room. Service was excellent, and very accommodating. The food was wonderful. It made for a very special evening.
Very accommodating when the party size was smaller than reserved. Food wasn’t as expected but overall nobody in the party had any major complaints.
It was my husband’s birthday and the experience just wasn’t what it normally is. He was so excited to come to your restaurant and it was a let down.
Food is not very innovative. Place is overpriced for what they serve. Menu includes items that may not be sustainable according to SeaFood Watch (e.g. both Chilean sea bass and Atlantic cod have had problems). Menu should show country of origin and method of catch so consumers can tell if the fish is caught sustainably.
If the review was based on food alone, my rating would be higher, but the service was extremely slow. I understand about the pandemic and the inability to have enough help, but 2 hours in a restaurant is a bit much. I won’t stop going here but I just hope my next experience will be better.
