   ⸻ We had high expectations for our visit, but sadly, the experience fell short in several key areas. When we arrived, there was no one at the door to welcome us. After standing awkwardly for a few minutes, a member of staff eventually appeared. As we were a little early, we decided to return later, hoping things might improve. We were a party of six, and given the size of our group and the fact that the restaurant wasn’t busy—it was a Wednesday evening with only about a dozen diners—we expected attentive service. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. There was no Maître D’ overseeing the floor, and although there were five or six members of staff present, no one seemed to be clearly assigned to our table. It became a game of trying to catch someone’s eye—none of whom seemed particularly inclined to make eye contact. Service was slow and disorganised. We had to repeatedly ask for our water to be topped up, and dishes arrived at uneven intervals, which disrupted the flow of the meal. When we asked whether the selection we had ordered would be sufficient for the size of our party, the staff were vague and unhelpful. Communication was minimal, often relying on facial expressions rather than clear, courteous conversation. We decided to try one dessert from a fairly limited menu, but it wasn’t to our liking and we left it. No one asked whether there was a problem or offered any apology. A simple, “Was everything alright?” would have made a difference. To be honest, I receive better service at Dishoom—a fast-paced Indian restaurant that still manages to make every diner feel well looked after. This place, by contrast, appears to rely solely on the quality of its food and seems to have no real concept of customer experience. In the end, I was genuinely reluctant to pay the service charge. We expected a far better experience and left feeling disappointed.

   Hardly any service. Sat with empty drinks for 30 minutes. It seemed we were an inconvenience

   Excellent drinks and apps. The server was great! Deepak told us where to go for pictures. He was very professional, courteous and had some great recommendations for food and drinks. The daal makhani is a must order!

   Customer service was a joke, starter prawns were dry, told the waiter he said he can’t really do anything about it. salad was served 10 mins before Ordered mains by recommendation of the waiter, and if those dishes were chefs special then I would strongly suggest they need a new chef as the vegetarian dishes were bland and not fresh Told the waiter and again he brushed it off by saying he can’t do anything about it Service and food are a joke

   This was our second visit. Our first visit was, by chance, very soon after they opened. We do not live in London so last night was our first chance to try it again, 14 months later. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is highly decorated, almost every inch of wall has Indian antiques and family photos going back a long time. The company has restaurants in India. The food, it is not a bog standard British Indian restaurant, they have several signature dishes, the sauces seem very authentic and there is appropriate levels of spice. You can ask for things to be milder if needed. We had prawns in 2 dishes, King prawns were enormous and the prawn curry dish had many good large prawns in it cooked to perfection. There was a lot of chicken in the chicken dish. All tasted wonderful. The service was first class, friendly and efficient, many staff ready to serve the pre and post theatre customers but there was no hint that they wanted you out even though the place was mostly quite full. The wine list had a good number of wines available by the glass, I chose a rioja and it was delicious. We complimented the head waiter who took us on a tour of the antiques upstairs and could tell us where everything came from, very interesting. It’s not cheap but being in theatre land close to Trafalgar Square that is not unreasonable. We will certainly be back when we can.

   Had an amazing time here for my fiancé's birthday. Had the tasting menu with wine pairing - food was tasty and enjoyed the wine pairing. The staff were lovely and explained the history behind each course to us beforehand which we found interesting. The highlight was being able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace without feeling rushed or the restaurant needing the table back (which is rare nowadays!).

    We had an amazing quiet corner in the sofa which we organised on arrival. The service was discreet and on brand. The food delicious. Overall a really enjoyable meal in this upmarket Indian. We'll be back.
