The French cuisine was excellent. The staff very professional. As in most restaurants these days the acoustics in the restaurant are awful so the noise level is a problem for conversation. They do have outdoor seating as well which would probably be less noisy. Overall, we would highly recommend this restaurant. The food is worth the visit.

An exceptional experience. Great food, fantastic drink, and the service was superb. If there is one piece if constructive criticism that I can offer, I suggest more sound absorbing ceiling tiles - the restaurant is cery noisy and it is hard to hold a conversation in the bar area. This did not get in the way of a fantastic experience - I shall return.

This was my second visit to Cognac, and I think it’s a consistently good place. On this visit, I once again had the salmon tartare as my appetizer - delish. My companions each had the escargot and loved it. For entrees, I had the chicken with the puréed potatoes. I wasn’t wild about the consistency of the potato puree but it was still delicious. One of my companions had the steak fritte and the other had the trout. Both reported that the entrees were delicious. We didn’t have cocktails or desserts, mostly because we overindulged on the bread that was served with our appetizers. All in all, a solid meal. Service was good but the place was incredibly loud. You had to scream to be heard. The outdoor dining space has better acoustics if you can stand the heat.

I had the most incredible birthday celebration at Cognac. From the moment we sat down, it was pure magic. The filet mignon was absolute perfection,tender, juicy, and cooked exactly to order. The asparagus had that ideal balance of crisp-tender texture with just the right seasoning. And then there’s the escargot… wow. I’ve tried escargot at many restaurants, but nothing compares to Cognac’s. And don’t get me started on the chocolate mousse. Silky, rich, and decadent!! It was the sweet finale every birthday girl dreams of. The ambience feels straight out of a Parisian bistro. The staff was, as always, gracious and attentive without ever being overbearing. Whether you’re there for a celebration or a casual dinner, Cognac makes every moment feel special. As if one perfect meal weren’t enough, I followed it up with a birthday brunch with friends and it was brunch heaven. You’ll seriously want to take home a barrel of their syrup, it’s that good. The French toast was pillowy and golden, and the eggs Benedict on a buttery brioche bun was pure magic. We even splurged on the caviar, which added an extra touch of luxury to the table. Cognac is truly a gem tucked in downtown! A rare combination of consistently outstanding food, impeccable service, and timeless charm. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Whether it’s a special celebration or a spontaneous meal, this place will make it unforgettable.
